- Summary: The issue is that after fueling up my car I will drive a little ways down the road and the car will shut off and I will need to steer out of the way of traffic and restart the car. This will happen several times after refueling. This appears to be a common problem with 2006 Dodge Chargers, Magnums, and Chrysler 300s. It appears that the issue is that fuel was observed entering the purge line prior to initial shut off of the fill nozzle. This causes fuel to escape from the fuel tank assembly into the evaporative system. The multi-function control valve’s refueling float stays stuck in an open position and is the cause of this issue. “Rich fuel” gets into the engine and the engine will shut down. The NHTSA has investigated the issue under investigation number PE13-016. I was directed to report the issue to the NHTSA website if I have the issue, which I do.

- Summary: I got ZD1-00000 recall procedure done at Joe Cooper Dodge of Shawnee 4940 North Automall Dr. Shawnee, OK 74804. Recently I noticed my blower had started to perform rattling sounds, so I opened the glovebox, inspected the blower and found one little screw inside the turbine. I wondered where it should be screwed, so I looked everything around and realized the passenger-side airbag is screwed on 2 screws instead 4 like it was designed. I am not in a position to make technical conclusions but looks like probably the serviceman who performed the airbag recall procedure gave up screwing all 4 screws. So, I called to Dodge Contact Center (FCA US LLC. Case #[XXX] and asked what they thought about this. Susan, the lady I talked to said they are basically not responsible for the recall procedure performing quality and I should ask for help from Joe Cooper Dodge of Shawnee. I declined any contact with Joe Cooper Dodge of Shawnee as far as in my opinion they neglected their professional duties and put me and my family in jeopardy. The point is simple, my intention was not to hide the situation and get a bonus from someone, but to inform the corporation about the possible quality issues with the recall procedure performed by their representatives. I also asked the FCA US LLC. to schedule an appointment with any other dealers to independently inspect the job quality related to recall procedures performed on my car. So, Susan from Dodge Contact Center a representative of FCA US LLC ignored the possible safety issue information that had been provided, she said Case # would[XXX] be closed. She also said the possible safety issues could be solved by another dealer but for the extra fee. FCA US LLC. forcing me to pay for the procedure, which is supposed to be free of charge regarding the Safety Act and Federal regulations. - Summary: Was backing our of a parking spot when the driver's airbag went off. I was looking to the back right as I was slowly turning the wheel clockwise when the airbag triggered. At such low speeds I was able to safely hit the brake and park the vehicle. As a result my left hand was minorly injured, while my front passenger only reported his ears ringing. My vehicle never made any contact with another vehicle or object. The Publix parking lot is a flat, paved surface. I took pictures all around and of my car soon after. I did have the airbags replaced because of the Takata recall some time ago (2017/2018 i think). If the vehicle was operated at a higher speed and the airbag went off, this would certainly cause an accident. I did inspect the vehicle afterwards and performed an EDR download. The CDR report is attached, however it reports that it is "Not retrievable by CDR Tool". There was a check engine light on at the time, I believe it was for code P0420. There may have been a low tire pressure light as well. Alignment was recently performed (~1 month ago) by a Tires Plus.

- Summary: On 3/10/2023 my vehicle suddenly starting trembling and shaking profusely! It terrified me severely. I immediately called my mechanic and it was towed in to be repaired. I was told it needed a tune- up. Towing, 3-Direct Ignition coils replaced, 6-spark plugs replaced and 1- fuel injection plenum gasket set replaced. Four weeks later on 4/16/2023 a warning sign of a backwards meeting parenthesis with a lightening bolt between to the two backwards parenthesis showed up on my warning lamp-Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) Indicator symbol; causing my vehicle on shake, jump and stall as I was driving on 29S heading toward 70W towards Baltimore to get home. I was able to drive to side of the road and my car completely stopped. A the horrific sounds of the traffic wizzed by me and my 12 year old child, I immediately called AAA, as we were in danger and severely terrified. We were finally picked up after 3 long hours!!!!! My car was the towed up the street from my home because the huge tow truck was unable to get directly in front of my door at that late hour. As I called AAA back the next morning to have my car towed to my mechanic shop, I was told I could only get 1 tow/ breakdown. I was totally in disbelieve after all we endured the evening/ night before. After explaining to a supervisor at AAA, she agreed that we had such a horrible experience the night before and adjusted the policy to accommodate my vehicle to be towed to my mechanic for repairs. This time, my fuel pump needed to be replaced and it has been. My vehicle still feels hesitate in its acceleration and as of today my engine light is on on my warning panel. An inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
- Remedy: Chrysler will notify the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and RAM owners. Mitsubishi owners will be notified by their company. Dealers will replace the passenger frontal air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall began on March 27, 2017. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S43. Note: This recall supersedes recall 14V-7700.

- Summary: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2005-2009 Dodge Ram 2500, 2004-2008 Dodge Ram 1500 and Durango, 2006-2009 Dodge Ram 3500, 2008-2010 Dodge Ram 4500 and 5500, 2007-2008 Chrysler Aspen, 2005-2010 Chrysler 300, 300C, 300S, and SRT8, 2006-2010 Dodge Charger, 2005-2008 Magnum, 2005-2011 Dodge Dakota, and 2006-2009 Mitsubishi Raider vehicles. The affected vehicles are equipped with a dual-stage driver frontal air bag that may be susceptible to moisture intrusion which, over time, could cause the inflator to rupture.
- Consequence: In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the driver's frontal air bag, the inflator could rupture with metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
- Remedy: Chrysler will notify the affected Chrysler and Dodge owners and Mitsubishi will notify the affected Raider owners. Dealers will replace the driver's frontal air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall began for Chrylser on June 8, 2015. The recall for Mitsubishi started on June 24, 2015. Chrysler and Dodge owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Mitsubishi owners may call 1-888-648-7820. Chrysler's number for this recall is R25. Note: This recall supersedes recall 14V817 in its entirety. Vehicles that have had their driver side frontal air bag replaced previously need to have their air bag replaced under this recall as well.

- Consequence: THIS COULD ALLOW THE VEHICLE TO MOVE IN AN UNEXPECTED DIRECTION STARTLING THE DRIVER, AND CAUSE A CRASH WITHOUT WARNING.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL ADD A REDUNDANT LOCKING MECHANISM TO THE GEARSHIFT CABLE AT THE MOUNTING BRACKET TO ENSURE PROPER RETENTION AND SHIFT LINKAGE FUNCTION. THE RECALL BEGAN ON NOVEMBER 10, 2008. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CHRYSLER AT 1-800-853-1403.

CONTACT BETWEEN THE BRAKE TUBES AND EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION TUBE OVER AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME MAY CAUSE THE BRAKE TUBES TO WEAR THROUGH AND CAUSE A BRAKE FLUID LEAK.
- Consequence: THIS CAN RESULT IN A DECREASE OF BRAKING FORCE AND THE POTENTIAL FOR AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE REAR BRAKE TUBES FOR DAMAGE AND REPLACE THEM FREE OF CHARGE. A CLIP WILL ALSO BE INSTALLED TO SECURE THE BRAKE TUBES TO THE RIGHT FRONT SHOCK TOWER TO MAINTAIN PROPER CLEARANCE TO THE EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION TUBE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JUNE 26, 2006. - Consequence: IF THIS OCCURS AND THE PARKING BRAKE IS NOT APPLIED, THE VEHICLE MAY ROLL AWAY AND CAUSE A CRASH WITHOUT WARNING.

This is the most amazing vehicle I have ever driven/owned. It does as little or as much as you would ever want to do. However, it does have some blind spots. Additionally, I have noticed a whine, sounding like a turbocharger, possibly coming from the transmission, as I pull in to my garage. Hopefully nothing serious. If it isn't, I will still be extremely pleased with the vehicle.

I have owned many great cars but the SRT8 has them all outclassed. This car is in a class by itself. The SRT people really outdid themselves on this one.

This is a great car! There's plenty of room in the cabin for all passengers, and it has great gas mileage without sacrificing performance. The MDS (multi displacement system) works flawlessly - you can't even tell when it kicks in or out. Out of all the cars I've driven, this is one of the best for comfort, economy, and performance. I'm actually in the market to get a second one to replace my Chrysler Town and Country. #0271 of 4000, Top Banana Pennsylvania.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to share my experience with my car that I bought on December 31st, 2005. I absolutely love the styling of the car and it's so much fun to drive! It has exceeded all of my expectations since the day I bought it. The front seats are incredibly comfortable, especially if you opt for the Daytona or Road & Track Group with the upgraded seats. They are much more comfortable than the standard seats. The car handles very well, although I store it in the winter so I am not sure about snow and ice. I must say, don't buy this car for fuel economy. I still have never gotten anywhere near the 25 highway on the sticker, closer to 21. So far, my only problem is a squeak in the dash that comes and goes. Otherwise, I have had no problems in the first 13K miles. It's also very roomy and my kids really like riding in it! I highly recommend this car to anyone looking for a fun and comfortable ride.

I have had this car for a week now and each day I'm more impressed. The exhaust is just noticeable at idle and just loud enough when you step on it to make you smile. This car performs as a modern-day muscle car should - fast and smooth. I was looking at the RT and Daytona and am thrilled I waited for the SRT-8. It is the best performance value on the market!

Congratulations on your first brand new car in Oct 2006! It must have been so exciting to see it still in bubble wrap. While it's unfortunate that you experienced some reliability issues, it's great to hear that the car drives excellently. As a responsible driver, it's understandable that you don't hot rod the car like an 18-year-old. It's a shame that the motor failed at 46k, but luckily you had the 4k warranty from the dealer and didn't have to pay anything for the repair. I have recently acquired a 2006 Dodge Charger and have noticed that the engine is producing a sound similar to that of a train. Upon inspection, it appears that the issue is caused by faulty rocket arms on the valve. While this is an uncommon issue, it is important to be aware of it.

It's actually my wife's car, but we've been having some issues with it. The original tires wore out in less than 25000 miles, and then around 50000 miles, the check engine light came on. The dealer suggested a $900.00 fix involving some valve clamps, but I didn't quite understand it. I tried using some gum out and the light stayed off for over 6000 miles, but then it came back on. When I drive it, I find that there are too many blind spots, the ride is a bit harsh, and I bump my head on the low roof. I also don't like that I can't rest my arm on the window sill. Now I'm finding out about some tie rod problems, and I suspect that the chassis may not be strong enough to handle the stress of the engine and rear wheel drive.

I love this car and it's been a pleasure to drive it. However, I've been experiencing some front end vibration that has caused my tires to shred. Unfortunately, the dealership has been unable to repair the issue. I've had to replace my tires three times in just 40,000 miles due to this recurring problem. I was wondering if there are any other owners out there who have experienced the same issue and if we could possibly work together to find a resolution with the manufacturer?

The car is pleasant to drive, but unfortunately, it has had several service issues. From the very beginning, there was a front tire thumping/noise issue that was never resolved, even after visiting 3 different dealerships 6 times. They were unable to find anything wrong. At 31,000 miles, a front tire blowout occurred due to excessive wear. I replaced all 4 tires with Coopers. However, after only 17,000 miles, they are showing the same wear patterns. Now, the front tie rods and control arms need replacing, which will cost $970! It seems that this car requires a lot of maintenance, which can be quite expensive.
