We received our car in December 2020 and had one issue with a sticking door. However, a technician came to our house and fixed it promptly. We absolutely love the acceleration, comfortable seats, and the convenience of charging at home. We decided to lease this Tesla, but we are already planning to buy the next one. We are extremely satisfied with our purchase. Additionally, we found that Apple CarPlay is unnecessary on the Tesla because their system is already excellent.

I recently purchased a 2021 Model Y after the height of Covid. Unfortunately, the purchase procedure was not very pleasant. However, I would like to remind future buyers to bring their smart phone as it is required to acknowledge the purchase using it. During my visit, I noticed that a customer next to me had an issue with one of their doors not unlocking, but luckily my slightly misaligned doors functioned correctly. Tesla gives you 10 days to report any initial problems, which is a good policy. Overall, the build and material quality are okay, but could be improved for the luxury segment. I have had some issues with trapped moisture obscuring my cameras after rain storms, but Tesla replaced one of the cameras. Unfortunately, the replacement camera was not sealed properly. There are also some oversized/uneven gaps between some body panels, and one door edge has a sharp point where the metal bends. The road noise and cabin vibration is okay, but not great. In comparison, our Volvo S60 was almost 20K cheaper and had better materials, seat comfort, noise isolation, and build tolerances. The rear speakers are mounted to the inside hatch door, so sound quality is affected when the trunk is filled with bags/luggage. Lastly, my battery range has dwindled to less than 85% in two years. Despite these issues, I must say that the dual engine is very fast and the acceleration is super smooth. The cabin is also very roomy and the storage is ample. The sound system is very good, although the interface could use some improvement. The car feels fairly nimble and has great inch-by-inch control when backing into tight spaces or sloped roads/driveways. Although I was not impressed with my customer experience at Tesla, I must say that the pickup process was very efficient and only took about 30 minutes since the financials were all worked out ahead of time.The rear and side cameras provide great visibility, although the poor visibility through the rear window is compensated for. The Supercharger network in CA is fairly extensive and works well, but I mostly charge from home. The Infotainment system has a lot of features and supported services (Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, Tune-In, et cetera), but the complex interface can be too distracting while driving. It would be better if the car had more buttons and less screen swiping. The voice recognition for phone and navigation system (addresses) is actually quite decent.

I had a great experience testing and buying a Tesla. The staff were all nice, but I found more help online than in-store. After testing several EVs from other brands, the Tesla Y felt truly special. It drove well, was super comfortable and intuitive, and no other EV felt as unique. Other brands struggled to be car-like and were just fussy and unnecessary. The runner-up for me was the Ioniq 5 LTD, but it was more expensive and the dealer experience was a turn off. Tesla just lets you demo the vehicle, and I took it out several times. The only warning is to carefully follow referral program rules as Tesla won't budge if you botch the sequence ahead of placing an order. Aside from that one snafu, it was as easy as ordering and picking up an iPhone. The updates were decent, the Tesla crew was always kind and helpful, and I didn't feel beat up by the sales process. I've owned a lot of cars over the years, and none are as comfortable and sporty as the Y. I love the simple design, it has the best stereo I've ever experienced, and charging and connectivity are seamless. Most of all, there's not an overwhelming brand play with Tesla. You get in, tap the brake, and drive. I rented a Tesla while visiting my family, and my only gripe was the valet key, which is no substitute for the phone key connectivity. If Hertz just bought Tesla fobs for their fleet, the experience would have been much better.With the card, you don't get the same perimeter detection as with a fob, which can feel a bit out of sync with the greatness of their phone key and app. However, I have no concerns about the build quality or any other rumors. The EV feels solid and is an absolute blast to drive. Overall, it feels way ahead of the dated MFG + dealer network one has to muddle through. I can definitely see myself driving this EV for a long time. Best of luck with your search!

I recently purchased the Model Y Performance and I am absolutely in love with it! As a 42-year-old male, I can confidently say that this car has made driving fun again. The pros are endless: the acceleration and instant torque at any speed are truly impressive, and the one pedal driving is a game changer. I love how the car comes to a stop by itself and automatically holds the car in place when stopped. The fact that I don't need keys and can just use my cell phone to get in and out is fantastic - everything turns on and off automatically. The music and movies sound amazing, and the free autopilot works great, making short or long trips much more pleasant. Supercharging is simpler than a gas station, and the navigation to chargers is automatic in the maps. The remote control of the car via the app for climate, charging, video monitoring, cracking windows, unlocking, etc. is wonderful to use, and the car is always at the right temperature. As an anal engineer, I had zero issues with quality control - they must have really improved. With the performance, I have had so many people comment on how good the car looks. Grey with Uber wheels and a white interior is the way to go if you want a good looking car. No more gas stations, oil changes, brake replacements, and having free miles with my solar system is great! Plus, it's cheaper than every other competitive EV with this performance level. When comparing with the rebates I got, it's 17k less than Mach E GT and 24k less than EV6 GT. And the best part? I don't have to deal with the crooks at the dealership. Super easy pick up and no extra fees. I just bought a Ford Maverick also and they tried to drop $2900 bucks of extra crap on a $28k truck! Never again. The only con I can think of is that it's a somewhat rougher riding car compared to the LR, but it's way better than my Mustang, and it's much faster than the Mustang. Plus, it's a performance car with sweet looking low profile tires, so it's expected. Overall, I highly recommend the Model Y Performance to anyone looking for a fun and reliable car.I highly recommend this car! It has great speed and a sleek look that make it worth the investment. While it can be a bit noisy on the road due to its lowered ride and low profile tires, it's important to remember that this is a performance SUV. Although it doesn't have CarPlay, the existing system is still very functional. I do wish the maps showed police locations like WAZE, but that's a minor issue. The only downside is that native garage door control requires paying for MyQ, which costs $48 a year. However, it does work very well. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and love driving this car. It's a great value and has no competition from Tesla. Buy one!

I love changing my cars often, but it looks like I'm keeping this one for a while. It's fast, agile, and practical, with tons of space and hidden compartments. I love getting software updates because they bring new features, and driving it is cheap with almost no maintenance. While I have seen some negative reviews, I may have been fortunate as I have driven close to 15K miles with zero issues!!! I would definitely recommend it.

I've been the proud owner of the 2023 Model Y since March 2023 and overall, I really like the car. However, I have a few safety concerns that are major for me. Firstly, there are no aural or visual warnings for perpendicular crossing traffic while in reverse, which can be dangerous. Secondly, the cameras don't provide a wide enough view to see past the width of the driveway by more than a few feet, nor are they clear enough to spot pedestrians walking behind the car while backing out of a parking space. Although there is a warning on the screen for traffic in lanes on either side of the car, it can be difficult to see if the car is in a blind spot. I was surprised to find that Tesla does not have a yellow warning light in each side view mirror, as my 2014 Camry did. Lastly, while on cruise control, the car goes into an abrupt braking for no reason if there is a vehicle crossing perpendicular to the road I am on. If given a choice, I would much prefer an aural warning first, and then automatic braking if needed. I hope that the 2024 models will address these issues, and new buyers will appreciate the improvements.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I recently picked up my third and final Tesla, and while I was trying to park it in my garage, I noticed that there were no parking aids. At first, I thought they were turned off, but then I realized that the car doesn't have parking sensors anymore. It's a bit disappointing to think that they were left out to save $150 on a car that's worth more than 60K. Nonetheless, I'm still happy to have leased this car, and I'm grateful for the time I've had with it.

I highly recommend reading reviews before purchasing a Tesla. In my case, I waited years to buy the Tesla Y, thinking that most, if not all, of the new-model kinks would be worked out. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Although I paid an extra $6,000 for enhanced auto driving (EAD), I experienced some issues while using it on the highway on a clear sunny day. I absolutely love my 2023 Tesla Model Y1! One of the best things about it is that I no longer have to deal with gas pumps or the temptation of junk food at gas stations. Plus, I don't have to worry about oil changes or other dealership services thanks to the one-pedal driving feature that barely uses brake pads. However, I did have some not-so-good experiences with Tesla dealers and operatives who were not very helpful. Additionally, I found that in my Model-Y, I only get about 60% of the advertised range (around 200 miles) and can only charge up to 80% for battery longevity, which means leaving behind 40% or 130 miles. On top of that, the AC runs all the time in hot weather to prevent the battery from overheating and catching fire, which eats into my mileage. I also had to spend some extra money to cover the front of the car to prevent paint chips. While not having a screen in front can take some getting used to, I appreciate the safety features that come with it. Overall, I highly recommend the Tesla Model Y1, but it's important to be aware of these potential drawbacks.
