The Fiat Doblò is a panel van and leisure activity vehicle produced by Italian automaker Fiat since 2000. It was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in October 2000. First generation (2000)
It was first launched to the public in the Netherlands, and received the "2006 International Van of the Year" award by an international jury from 19 countries. In Singapore, a 1.4 litre LAV variant is marketed as the Fiat Panorama in five and seven seater versions. The first Doblò was sold in January 2001.
The Doblò carries a payload of up to 730 kg (1,609 lb), with an interior volume of 3.2 cubic metres (110 cu ft). The Doblò uses Fiat Strada's platform, in turn derived from the Fiat Palio's one, using a rigid axle with leaf springs at the rear, instead of a torsion beam with coil springs as on the Palio.
It is manufactured by Fiat's Tofaş subsidiary factory in Bursa, Turkey, in Brazil since 2002 and in Russia and Vietnam. Turkish models have an engine range that includes a 1.4 litre petrol, a 1.9 litre MultiJet, and a 16 valve 1.3 litre MultiJet.
In North Korea, Pyonghwa Motors produces Doblò branded as its own name Ppeokkugi.
The facelift version came in October 2005, and was restyled with modifications to the front and rear light groups, and the total design of the front part.

- Summary: We purchased the van in April 2024, and the mileage was 130268. We checked the oil regularly and noticed the level dropping. After driving it 3080 miles and checked the oil level after letting the vehicle sit over night. The oil level was down almost 2 quarts. I contacted the dealer and told them what happened and they mentioned that there was a recall for some Promaster City vans. I looked up the information and found the recall marked as W80. I contacted Chrysler and they said our vehicle isnt listed and to contact the NHTSA. It has the same problems and is losing the oil in the same amounts as specified in the recall but for some reason, our VIN isnt listed in the recall.

- Summary: exited a freeway, and when taking off at the stop vehicle lunged forward into the intersection and went out of gear. after repeated attempts to accelerate, drove about 200 feet and dropped out of gear again. Had vehicle towed to Dealer who said needed a new transmission and a left engine and transmission mount because the mounts are breaking causing the engine and transmission to drop nearly to the pavement. An article posted June 2019 by certtrans details the failure (search online for: mopar fix for ram promaster transmission bracket breakage). There are many possible catastrophic safety issue from this failure. Why have these vehicles not been recalled for these defective mounts? The upgraded mount was an additional $847. The price alone may scare some people off from replacing with upgraded mount. At highway speeds when the engine and transmission fall down the angle of the drive axles alone could cause breakage and loss of power. Plus there are a many other possibilities for this to cause a crash.

- Summary: Several incidents when accelerating, the engine goes into a limp mode, followed by indicator lights coming on P0401, P0299, P226C. The vehicle will not accelerate and travels at a max speed of about 5mph. This has happened in traffic every time and has put me and my family, as well as other vehicles, at extreme risk of being in an accident, not being able to accelerate out of the way of oncoming traffic. After several cycles of turning the vehicle off and on, it returns to normal function. The vehicle has been inspected at a Dodge Service station. They determined that the Turbo diesel system is malfunctioning and needs repair. My vehicle is available for inspection upon request.

The contact also noticed that the vehicle had lost motive power and felt like the transmission was neutral. The contact attempted to depress the accelerator pedal however, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact pulled over to the side of the roadway and waited for several minutes before restarting the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.

- Summary: I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO A RAM DEALER SERVICE CENTER BECAUSE THE 'FILL DEF' LIGHT AND MESSAGE REMAINED IN THE EVIC EVEN THOUGH THE DEF WAS FULL. THE DEALER DETERMINED THAT THE ISSUE WAS THE EGR COOLER, TUBE AND GASKETS NEED REPLACED. THE REPAIR WAS QUOTED AT $2918.27 (SEE ATTACHMENT). UPON RESEARCHING MOPAR SAFETY RECALLS, I CAME ACROSS RECALL VB1, WHICH PERTAINS TO EGR COOLERS OF RAM 1500S WITH ECODIESEL ENGINES NEEDING REPLACED. I CALLED MOPAR, AND THEY SAID VB1 DOES NOT APPLY TO MY VIN, EVEN THOUGH IT IS THE SAME ENGINE. I AM WONDERING IF VB1 IS THE SAME ISSUE I AM HAVING WITH MY PROMASTER 1500 WITH AN ECODIESEL ENGINE, AND IF ANY OTHER PROMASTER OWNERS WITH THE ECODIESEL HAVE HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS. - Summary: I PURCHASED VEHICLE USED ON 2/14/2018. CARFAX STATED NO OUTSTANDING RECALLS. SOME RESEARCH REVEALED A RECALL BY FIAT-CHRYSLER (8/2016) FOR THE WIRING HARNESS - S55 / NHTSA 16V-529. ACCORDING TO THE DEALER, FIAT-CHRYSLER WILL ONLY HONOR THIS RECALL FOR A PERIOD OF 2 YEARS FROM DATE OF ISSUE. FURTHER RESEARCH REVEALED THAT NHTSA REQUIRES RECALLS BE HONORED FOR A "REASONABLE" AMOUNT OF TIME, SUGGESTING THAT 10 YEARS IS "REASONABLE". - Summary: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling various Dodge, Chrysler, and RAM vehicles equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V824-0103.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or requiring excessive force to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. - Consequence: If the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury in the event of a fire.

- Summary: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2015-2017 RAM ProMaster City vehicles. These vehicles have incorrect information on the tire placard including incorrect vehicle capacity weight, total number of occupants, tire pressure and/or "None" designation for the spare tire size when a full size spare tire is present. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
- Consequence: The incorrect tire placard can cause the operator to exceed the vehicle's weight capacity, or inflate the tires to an incorrect pressure, affecting vehicle handling, which can increase the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the incorrect tire placard with a corrected one, free of charge. The recall began November 17, 2017. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is T62.

- Summary: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain RAM ProMaster Trailer Light Modules, part number 68229650AB. These accessory modules were sold for installation on RAM ProMaster and ProMaster City vehicles. The Trailer Tow Lighting Control Module may have a software error on the affected vehicles and can prevent illumination of the trailer brake lights during brake actuation. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Assoc. Equipment."
- Consequence: Trailer brake lights that are inoperative can increase the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Chrysler will mail letters to owners to try to notify the purchasers of the modules, and dealers will replace the Trailer Tow Light Control Modules, free of charge. The Model Promaster City SLT Cargo Van is a great mini delivery van with ample interior cargo capacity for both space and weight. The hinged rear doors open more than 90 degrees, which is really helpful, and the sliding side doors provide adequate access. While the space is obtained at the cost of soundproofing, resulting in some road noise, recommended high tire pressure (42 psi) may also contribute to noise. The van has tight handling and steering with good braking, and better than expected acceleration out of the 2.4L engine and 9-speed auto transmission. It also has great gas mileage, averaging around 28 MPH for WV Country Rd driving, and taking it easy on the flat, it can get as high as 32 MPH. The van has no problems in snow or muddy gravel roads with all-season tires, but it's best not to push it. There are lots of nooks for storing, including doors and overhead bins. The seats are firm but have adequate adjustments, including lumbar support. However, the cup holders are too small in diameter, and it's a little tight between the seats. Without windows on the side sliding cargo doors, it is difficult to see traffic coming from the right at intersections that are more than 90 degrees (over your shoulder - true for any windowless van). Otherwise, visibility is good from the front and side, and the rear camera and backup warning help. In the 2015 model, the speedometer is difficult to see on sunny days, especially if wearing sunglasses. The van is on its third set of tires at 48K, and the original brakes are still in good condition. The only issue was an electrical problem with the rear wiper switch, which required replacement of the control module for all switches/controls on the steering wheel/column (under warranty). The AC is just adequate, but the high beams are exceptional at night.

I bought my van brand new in early 2016 for less than $17K and sold it this summer with 69000 miles on it for $13K. The vehicle was still in very clean condition and I had no issues with it except for twice early on when the hold open device on the rear doors stopped functioning. The repair was quick, and the dealership in Southern California found the parts, but it was time-consuming. After the last fix, which was 3 years ago, it didn't happen again. I think Ram may have fixed the design weakness. The vehicle had a small engine, but with the 9-speed transmission, it was never a problem. Even when loaded heavily, it could cruise at freeway speed with no effort. In city traffic, I got a consistent 24 MPG, and on road trips, 30 MPG was the norm. The handling was excellent. I was hoping that by 2022 or 2023, Ram would release an all-electric or hybrid version of the vehicle, but unfortunately, they cancelled it. So, I sold the vehicle for $13K and bought a hybrid Maverick.

I want to give a big shoutout to Noel from Noelspainting & Handyman Services for making it possible to install aftermarket radios with the Chrysler Data Interface kit for all Rams.
