2021 Ram Promaster city problems
The Fiat Doblò is a panel van and leisure activity vehicle produced by Italian automaker Fiat since 2000. It was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in October 2000. A second-generation Doblò succeeded the original vehicle in 2010 for most markets, and it was sold in the United States as the RAM ProMaster City from 2015 to 2022. The second generation was also sold in Europe and the UK as the Opel/Vauxhall Combo. The third-generation Doblò, a rebadged version of the Citroën Berlingo, was unveiled in June 2022, and is also sold as the Opel or Vauxhall Combo, Peugeot Partner, and Toyota ProAce.
First generation (2000)
It was first launched to the public in the Netherlands, and received the "2006 International Van of the Year" award by an international jury from 19 countries. In Singapore, a 1.4 litre LAV variant is marketed as the Fiat Panorama in five and seven seater versions. The first Doblò was sold in January 2001.
The Doblò carries a payload of up to 730 kg (1,609 lb), with an interior volume of 3.2 cubic metres (110 cu ft). The Doblò uses Fiat Strada's platform, in turn derived from the Fiat Palio's one, using a rigid axle with leaf springs at the rear, instead of a torsion beam with coil springs as on the Palio.
It is manufactured by Fiat's Tofaş subsidiary factory in Bursa, Turkey, in Brazil since 2002 and in Russia and Vietnam. Turkish models have an engine range that includes a 1.4 litre petrol, a 1.9 litre MultiJet, and a 16 valve 1.3 litre MultiJet.
In North Korea, Pyonghwa Motors produces Doblò branded as its own name Ppeokkugi.
The facelift version came in October 2005, and was restyled with modifications to the front and rear light groups, and the total design of the front part.

EQUIPMENT PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2021-09-19
- VIN: ZFBHRFBB1M6
- Components: EQUIPMENT
- Summary: Two instances of rooftop tent opening without human interaction. Incident 1 // 9-17-21: Vehicle was parked and the front drivers side latch (attached photo) opened due to gusts of wind. Incident 2 // 9-19-21: When driving approximately 65 mph (cruise control) on Interstate 40 in Arizona, the front passenger side latch released and front passenger side of rooftop tent opened. I could not see that the tent opened while driving but noticed a change in wind noise and also steering control. I immediately pulled off the highway and observed that the front passenger side of the tent was open and about a 6 inch gap between the top and bottom halves of the tent was exposed. The center strap and drivers side latch were both still engaged. At the speed of travel it was possible for the tent to open completely which could have harmed my passengers or drivers of other vehicles on the road. I have seen numerous reports of this problem on the Roofnest Flock facebook group. The equipment is available for inspection upon request. It has not been inspected by anyone else. There was no warning sign other than the product opening while parked. The product was purchased in May 2021.

The center dashboard for the speedometer in my Promaster City Minivan poses a challenge during daylight hours due to its poor visibility.
-
Very versatile for a small vehicle, snow handling poor. Turn off your traction control if you're stuck. Center console poorly designed but door bottle holders even the score. Needs a digital speedometer. Radio reception is often spotty. I outfitted with dual locking ladder racks, alot of noise but to be expected. Tow hitch and light connector with a 8in. Lift tow adapter works great. Tows smooth, good visibility with mirrors but tranny shift is prolonged, probably to be expected. Wall mounted tool boxes left and right and a $50 universal rubber mat. Always buy good seat covers and great floor liners(weather tech) for any vehicle you are going to keep. You won't be disappointed!!! Great value and performance. There are over a million and a half European cousins of this vehicle driving around. So it's not really new or untried, just the North American version 2014 to 2015 not so good. Redesigned 2016 to 2017 models seem overall great for the price. Consider the wagon version, even if you want to work out of it. You will get insulation rear seats and a whole lot more options an versatility for a few thousand dollars more. Also bought a full size spare tire with jack and hanger/installation kit for piece of mind, made the dealer pay half. Driving 1110 miles one way in 2 days from now towing a 4x8 harbor freight folding trailer with a 600lb load. Then 20 min to seperate the trailer into two halves that fit into the back of van, preventing me from towing a light/empty trailer 1110 miles back. That's versatility! Smart vehicle saves me gas, repairs and expensive tires for the work truck. Savings comparison to 1/2 ton work truck equal the cost of this van over a 5 year per period. Do the math, you won't be disappointed.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to address a small concern I have about this otherwise fantastic minivan. During the day, I'm having a bit of trouble seeing the speedometer and tachometer. Even at night with the lights on high, they're still a bit difficult to make out. I've never had this issue with any other car or van I've owned. However, I can read the items in the info box at the bottom center with no problem. My wife and I are planning to turn this into a camper and go sightseeing, so I'm going to try to find a way to shed more light on the subject. Thanks for your understanding!

This is a very well-engineered vehicle. As a builder and mechanic of 45 years, I have worked on many vehicles, but this one surpasses any I have owned or operated. I have read the full Edmonds review, and in terms of engineering quality, torque with the 9-speed transmission, and economy, it outperforms previous year's models and makes. Everything works perfectly, and I have had no quality issues with the dealership that sold me my vehicle. Eric Schram, my salesperson at Pinckney Chrysler, got me a smoking hot deal so fast and straightforward that I was in utter shock. He presented their offer and financing on my trade-in deal so simply that I couldn't be more pleased. Even my current lender wasn't able to match their timing and opportunity. Thank you all very much!

We are thrilled with our 2016 Ram ProMaster City! As of December 2020, we have driven nearly 60,000 miles and have had very few repairs. The van runs great and has been a reliable and economical choice for us. We even converted it into a live-in camper van and it has exceeded our expectations. Despite carrying over 1,000 pounds of additional weight with all our gear, the van still zips around quickly and quietly. We have added many features, including a fresh water tank, grey water tank, sink, bed/storage, cabinets, a lithium-iron phosphate battery and isolator, inverter, and more. We couldn't be happier with our purchase and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a true friend on the road!

This vehicle lacks a CD/DVD player and the front seats do not recline. Additionally, there is no lever as in other vehicles I have owned or driven in over the past 45 years. There have been three recalls, and the jack that comes with the spare tire (which must be purchased separately) is unable to lift the rear wheels off the ground. Despite these issues, I am confident in my decision not to purchase this vehicle again.

Although the car has a great look and spacious cargo area, it has unfortunately been experiencing some issues. It has been in the shop quite frequently and the technicians have had trouble finding the root of the problem. It seems like there may be a need for more specialized support for Dodge vehicle repairs. Trips to the Dodge dealer shop have been quite lengthy, so it may be best to consider other options. Additionally, parts for this particular vehicle may be hard to come by due to high demand. It's important to note that the car has experienced some shaking on solid pavement and rough idle, as well as hard gear shifting and pulling to the left. Despite these issues, it's important to remain optimistic and explore all options before making a final decision. Thank you for considering this information.

The engine shut down issue was not accompanied by any information regarding the need for oil refills every 1000 miles. Despite being advised to bring the vehicle in for an oil test, I was informed that any further tests would be my responsibility. Unfortunately, I had to add more oil today, despite having driven less than 500 miles. I was informed of this by the Dodge dealership. However, I remain dissatisfied with the way Dodge has handled this issue and will not be purchasing another Dodge vehicle in the future.

I purchased the cargo car for construction work instead of a RAM Truck and was very disappointed. I encountered a few problems: 1. The main issue, which has persisted for the last 30 years, is the integration of the transmission and engine. It feels like a torch and I can't even imagine how difficult it would be to drive on hills in San Francisco. 2. The vibration of the transmission is so high that it feels like I'm using a jackhammer while driving. I took it to the dealer four times, but they only provided insignificant diagnostic results and charged me without any warranty (power & transmission)! The diagnostics took 3-4 days, and the result was visible problems with the engine mounts, which cost me $1350. When the engine wouldn't start, the diagnostic result was to change the motor oil for $90 and so on...
