The Mini Clubman is a subcompact executive car engineered and manufactured by German automaker BMW and sold under the Mini marque. The first-generation Clubman was introduced in 2007, as a variant of the Mini Hatch (Hardtop in the US). A commercial version called Clubvan was added to the range in 2012. The Clubman started out in development based on the first generation Mini Hatch (R50) before changing to the second gen Hatch (R56).

The electronic control module in the driver's side footwell area may short-circuit, due to corrosion from water and road salt.
- Consequence: An electrical short-circuit can increase the risk of a fire.

Your 2003 Cooper S sounds like it was a lot of fun! Your new car sounds amazing with its heated leather seats, wood finishes, and extra room in the back. The rear barn doors are a unique feature that really catches people's attention. It's great to hear that you're getting 26 mpg in Los Angeles traffic, even with an automatic and sport mode. If you drove more conservatively, you could probably get even better gas mileage!

What a great find! You can get a car that has BMW fun, luxury, nimble size, and super gas economy (30mpg mixed driving), all for under $30K. I traded in my fully loaded '04 Accord and got a fully loaded (minus GPS) MINI Clubman. It has a vintage, classy look and is so much fun to drive. I feel very safe in the car, in control, connected to the road, and solid. Plus, it's so easy to park anywhere. I absolutely love the paddle shifters, they provide power when needed.

Just picked up my Cooper S Clubman and the first 24 hours have been amazing! I'm really impressed with the performance and handling, not to mention the great fuel economy. The ride is so smooth that I found myself going well over 80mph before realizing I was speeding!

We've had this car for about 3 years. Unfortunately, it seems like every few months it needs another repair. Recently, we had to replace the timing chain, which cost over $1900. While this has been frustrating, I would like to share my experience and suggest that unless you are a mechanic who enjoys working on cars, this may not be the best car for you.

A Great Idea Undone By Miserable Reliability. Timing chain, expansion tank, turbo oil cooling lines, oil filter housing leaks, to name but a few heavy offenses. Poor resale is another whack.

Although I special ordered this car from England and waited months for it, I am incredibly disappointed with it. Despite its nice handling, the car is incredibly noisy due to the run flats, obnoxiously bouncy, and has an excessive shifter throw. Additionally, the build quality seems to be pretty awful, with less than 1000 miles on the car and already experiencing issues such as the driver's window being stuck down, rear doors misaligned on delivery, tire pressure warning stuck on, side scuttle emblems fallen off, and finish on $750 extra wheels pitted and corroding. The cup holders are awkward and too small, and the interior storage is also awkward. Furthermore, the info center controls are unnecessarily complicated. It is unfortunate that I cannot say that I like this little car, but I am confident in my assessment of its flaws.
