2022 Cadillac Escalade problems
The Cadillac Escalade is a full-size luxury SUV manufactured by General Motors and marketed by their luxury division Cadillac. It was the luxury brand's first major entry into the SUV market. The Escalade was introduced for the 1999 model year in response to an influx of new luxury SUVs in the late 1990s such as the Mercedes-Benz M-Class, Range Rover, Lexus LX, and (especially) Ford's 1998 debut of the Lincoln Navigator. The Escalade project went into production only ten months after it was approved. The Escalade is built in Arlington, Texas. The term "escalade" refers to a siege warfare tactic of scaling defensive walls or ramparts with the aid of ladders or siege towers. More generally, it is a French word which is the noun-equivalent form of the French verb escalader, which means "to climb or scale".
The Escalade is currently sold in North America and select international markets (Europe and Asia) where Cadillac has official sales channels. The Escalade ESV (Escalade Stretch Vehicle) is sold in North America, Russia, and the Middle East, but is only available by special order in some international markets. The right-hand-drive Escalade and Escalade ESV are available through third-party conversion specialists without official agreement with Cadillac in Australian, Oceanic, and Japanese markets.
On August 8, 2023, GM unveiled the Escalade IQ, an all-electric version of the Escalade, and the third model in Cadillac's EV line, after the Celestiq, and Lyriq. It is expected to go on sale in late 2024 for the 2025 model year, with a starting price of $130,000.

Common 2022 Cadillac Escalade problems
The 2022 Cadillac Escalade is a high-end luxury large SUV that has been highly praised for its comfort, space, and performance. However, it does have some issues that have been reported by owners and experts.
One of the biggest problems with the 2022 Cadillac Escalade is its handling. According to Consumer Reports, the Escalade's handling is "clumsy" and "cumbersome," with noticeable body lean through corners and a feeling of looseness and disconnection from the driver's actions. This is not surprising, given the sheer size and weight of the vehicle, but it is still a significant issue that can make the driving experience less enjoyable.
Another problem with the 2022 Cadillac Escalade is its fuel economy. The Escalade's AWD V8 configuration gives only 14 MPG in the city, 19 MPG on the highway, and 16 MPG combined, which is significantly lower than many of its competitors. Even its best fuel economy numbers, with the rear-wheel-drive diesel setup, are still short of the competition.
The Escalade's climate control has also been criticized by some owners. Some have reported that the air conditioning and heating are not as effective as they should be, given the vast cavern of the interiors. This can make the driving experience less comfortable, especially in extreme temperatures.
Visibility is another issue with the 2022 Cadillac Escalade. The sheer size and weight of the vehicle can make it difficult to see around, and the interior tech is so exhaustive that there is a learning curve to it. This can make it challenging to operate the vehicle safely and comfortably, especially for those who are not familiar with the technology.
Finally, the 2022 Cadillac Escalade has been subject to recalls due to issues with its daytime running lights (DRL) and passenger seatbelts. The DRL would not deactivate, and a deformed rivet in the passenger seatbelts was the reason for one recall. While these issues have been addressed by Cadillac, they are still significant concerns for owners.
In conclusion, while the 2022 Cadillac Escalade is a high-end luxury large SUV that offers comfort, space, and performance, it does have some issues that have been reported by owners and experts. These include handling, fuel economy, climate control, visibility, and recalls. While these issues may not be deal-breakers for some buyers, they are still significant concerns that should be taken into account when considering purchasing this vehicle.

It became necessary to bring the vehicle to a complete halt, turn off the ignition, and then restart the engine in the left lane with traffic building behind me. The vehicle managed to restart but with difficulty, allowing me to exit the highway and pull into a nearby gas station where it eventually stalled and could not be restarted. - The vehicle displayed no warning lights or error messages prior to or during the incident. - got the vehicle towed to Cadillac dealership for inspection and diagnostic testing. First SUV ever owned. I'm so glad to hear that you've been very pleased with the vehicle and I hope you'll consider getting another SUV when your lease expires.

We absolutely love our car! We've had it for about a year now and it has been a huge improvement from our previous 2019 Escalade premium luxury. The cargo space and technology are amazing. We opted for the sport with super cruise and it's been fantastic on the highway. It rides like a dream too! However, since we have two little girls and a preteen boy with an iPad and a phone, we found that the rear seat entertainment screens were hard to work with for younger kids. So, if you have younger kids, we recommend not getting the rear screens as it's not worth the extra $1500. Overall, it's a great car!

I purchased my second brand new Cadillac Escalade in 2015, a platinum model. Unfortunately, after 6 months, I began to experience cranking noises from both the front and back of the vehicle. Despite driving it for 18 months, I ultimately decided to sell it once the new model was released. Recently, I purchased a 2022 Escalade Sport, but have had a disappointing experience thus far. With only 7000 miles on the vehicle, I have already experienced two brake failures and am currently waiting on a replacement part. While this has been frustrating, I remain confident in the quality of Cadillac vehicles and hope to have a better experience in the future.
