Mini Cooper clubman problems

The Mini Clubman is a subcompact executive car engineered and manufactured by German automaker BMW and sold under the Mini marque. The first-generation Clubman was introduced in 2007, as a variant of the Mini Hatch (Hardtop in the US). A commercial version called Clubvan was added to the range in 2012. The current second-generation model has been in production since 2015 and available with front- and all-wheel drive.
History
The use of the name "Clubman" is a departure from Mini tradition. "Clubman" was originally the name given to the 1970s facelift of the classic Mini, which mostly resulted in a squared-off front end, whereas the classic Mini estates had traditionally been named "Traveller" or "Countryman". However, BMW did not initially purchase the rights to use those names, and so decided to call its larger-variant "Clubman", a name which it did own rights to.
Sketches of a new estate version of the Mini were shown at the 2000 Paris Motor Show, and a rendering of the estate concept (internally named EXT), wore the Clubman name on the licence plate. The Clubman started out in development based on the first generation Mini Hatch (R50) before changing to the second gen Hatch (R56).

Hi there! I'm so excited to hear that you're considering a Clubman S! As someone who has owned 2 Mini's in the past, I can tell you that the space is wonderful for a Mini. Let's be real, no one cross shops a Suburban and Mini, but that's what makes it so unique! I've taken two road trips in my Mini and I absolutely loved every moment in it. It had way more than enough power in the Col. mts, yet good fuel economy (36 hwy, 26 city). I was able to fit 2 adults with about 4 duffel bags, all of which stowed nicely in the rear. The car is quick, amazingly fun to drive, looks cool and is comfortable. The only downside I can think of are the small cup holders, but they're way better than the past. The controls are switches like a plane but I personally like that. If you're attracted to a Mini, just go get one and let the fun begin! Don't forget to join a club, too! :)

If you're in the market for a car that can comfortably seat four adults while still providing a sporty driving experience, the options can be quite limited. After considering several competing small cars, we found that none of them could match the Mini in terms of looks, performance, or driving experience. Even the base-engined Clubman with the 6-speed transmission provides more than enough power for everyday driving, while still delivering a punch when you want to have some fun. The engine is both tractable and predictable, making high-speed driving effortless thanks to its good mid-range torque. The car's handling and power remain unaffected by wind, and the interior is also very comfortable. Everyone who rides in the car is pleasantly surprised by its power, comfort, features, and quality. Overall, the Mini is a great choice for anyone looking for a fun and practical car that can do it all.

It sounds like you have a really fun and exciting car! From your description, it seems like it's sporty, handsome, and even a bit sexy. The ride is speedy and go-kart like, which must make it a blast to drive. It's great to hear that it has more acceleration than you would expect from a 4cyl engine, and that you're still getting 25 mpg even with lots of stops on your short drive to work. The split rear seats, awesome sound, quirky designs inside and out, Bluetooth, sunroof/moonroof, and barn door back doors all sound like fantastic features. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on your used Cooper Clubman - it's clear that you really enjoy it!

I purchased a used 2010 Clubman with 65,000 miles on it. Unfortunately, after 3 months, the engine developed a vacuum leak. Upon inspection by my mechanic, I noticed plastic parts attached to the engine and a stripped screw on the exhaust manifold that had been glued back in place. I was informed that BMWs also have plastic parts. I also discovered a crack in the windshield that started on the top edge while washing the car. The dealer quoted me $800+ for a replacement, but I found a mobile windshield company that will replace it for $230. Despite these setbacks, I have decided to sell the car when it reaches 85,000 miles. While I may not purchase another German car, I am confident in my ability to make an informed decision based on my experiences.

Firstly, I want to say that this car looks fantastic and handles and accelerates really well. It also has decent interior room, although the 3rd half-door is a bit of a joke. However, it's worth noting that this car can be quite expensive to maintain. Unfortunately, I've had to spend over $5000 on repairs, including the timing chain, oil pump, water pump, low engine oil pressure, and more. It's clear that this Mini is not the most durable car out there, and I would recommend avoiding purchasing one with more than 50,000 miles on the clock. I've received class-action lawsuit notices against Mini for all the issues I've had to deal with, and it seems that many other owners are experiencing similar problems. With that said, if you have unlimited funds for repairs or know a Mini repairman who works extremely cheap, then this car could still be a good option for you.

The dealership sold us a brand new car with a cracked rim, and gave us the same cracked rim back when they claimed to have replaced it. Additionally, the sunroof drains were not properly hooked up during assembly, causing damage to the electrical parts. These issues are unacceptable and reflect poorly on the customer service provided by the dealership, which is the only Mini dealership in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is important for dealerships to take responsibility for their mistakes and provide satisfactory solutions to their customers.

I recently traded in my car after owning it for only 22 months. Although it was fun to drive, loaded with features, and fairly economical, I am concerned about the potential maintenance costs once the factory maintenance plan and warranty expire. Unfortunately, the car came with a deep scratch/gouge in the armrest, which the dealer was unable to replace without permanently ruining the integrity of the trim molding around it. Additionally, the floor console kept falling apart and was not fixable. At 30,000 miles, I needed new front tires and an alignment, which cost $385 (tires, alignment, and rotation were not included in the maintenance plan). At 38,000 miles, I needed new front brake pads and rotors, which cost $650 but were covered by the maintenance plan. Finally, at 40,000 miles, I needed a new power steering rack, which was covered under warranty. I am now left wondering about the potential future costs of owning this car.

I own a 2011 Mini Clubman S. Although I have had some issues with the car, I believe that with proper maintenance and care, it can be a reliable vehicle. Some of the issues I have experienced include the fuel pump breaking shortly after purchase, the airbag system needing repairs multiple times, and the water pump and oil pump solenoid failing. Additionally, the rear cargo 12v outlet came apart and the runflat front tires needed replacement at 12,000 miles. However, I am confident that these issues can be resolved with the help of a knowledgeable mechanic. Despite some initial rattles and difficulty using the radio controls, I still enjoy driving my Mini Clubman and appreciate its unique design and features.
