I traded in my 2004 GX470 for this in March of 2011. Overall, I find it to be a comfortable vehicle to drive, especially on vacation trips. It has all of the latest features, including the Mark Levinson audio, which sounds amazing. Although I have driven both in rough terrain and bad weather, I prefer the 04 for handling over the 11 because the 11 feels more sloppy in the turns. Unfortunately, the 11 also drinks more fuel than my 04. My biggest complaint is the poor functionality of the voice controls, which Lexus has refused to resolve. They said that without error codes in a log, they will do nothing more. Lastly, I regret choosing perforated leather as it has not held up well.

We are thrilled with this purchase! When you invest in a Lexus, you know you're getting top-notch quality, even if it comes with a higher price tag. Despite its size, it doesn't feel like you're driving a bus like some other SUVs. Of course, the gas mileage isn't ideal, but that's to be expected with any large SUV. This is our first time owning a Lexus, but we have a feeling it won't be our last!

I enjoy listening to music from time to time and I have a good ear for distinguishing between a mediocre sound and a great one. Recently, my family and I purchased a new 2011 GX460. Unfortunately, we did not test the audio system with a high-quality recording before buying it, like we did with my iPod or standard audio CD. We were disappointed to find that the music system in our new car is not as good as the ones in our previous cars, which cost less than 40k. Considering the price we paid for this car, it's surprising that Lexus would provide such a low-quality audio system. I have already expressed my concerns to the dealer and they have promised to look into it. I will keep you updated on the progress.

If you can, we recommend avoiding this truck-based SUV. However, we were very happy with the GX470 that we test drove. We regret not testing the GX460 on the highway before purchasing it, as the ride can be quite bumpy and uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the dealer did not offer any assistance other than a trade-in. While the SUV feels solid and the seats look good, they are quite stiff and can be uncomfortable. On the positive side, we love the navigation system and the interior color.

I tested the BMW x5, MDX, BM350, RX350, and GX460 on local roads. Although I loved the RX350, I ultimately went with the GX460. However, I regret not testing it on the highway. I thought we would get a roomier and more comfortable ride than the RX350, but unfortunately, we experienced motion sickness during the first 50 miles of driving. The truck ride was very bumpy and shaky on the highway, which made us feel sick and dizzy. This was a new experience for us, and we were concerned about the safety of our kids. Additionally, the gas mileage was very poor, making it less than ideal for day-to-day family use. If possible, I would recommend avoiding this car. Eventually, we traded it in for a 2011 RX350, and we are much happier now.

I really like this vehicle, but I have noticed some issues with the acceleration after stopping and accelerating quickly. This could potentially be a safety concern, especially when trying to quickly accelerate through an intersection. However, I am pleased to hear that Lexus is addressing the issue. Although there have been no reported accidents yet, it is important to prioritize safety. If it weren't for this issue, I would only have minor concerns about the small area for the 3rd row and the leg room for the driver's side. It's worth noting that this vehicle is built on the 4runner chassis, and the exterior and style are very impressive. Overall, I think this is a great vehicle with a lot of potential.

I recently switched from a 2010 Range Rover to a 2011 Lexus GX 460 due to reliability issues. While Lexus is known for being a reliable car brand, I have noticed that this SUV feels quite top-heavy and the rear end has swung out on tight turns at higher speeds, which can be uncomfortable. Additionally, the interior is not as luxurious as I expected from a Lexus and is definitely not as nice as the 2003-2009 generation of this model. However, my friend has an 08' and loves it. The styling is also quite bland and closely resembles the 2011 Toyota 4 Runner both inside and out. The radio and phone controls can be a bit clumsy and confusing, and the interior looks and feels a bit cheap. Overall, I have mixed feelings about this SUV, but I am hopeful that it will prove to be a reliable choice in the long run.

I recently had the opportunity to drive a 2014 Land Cruiser for a few days and it left quite an impression on me! The car had a very tough feel to it, with almost hydraulic-like steering and a raucous V8 engine. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Toyota could make such a 'macho' SUV. Intrigued by the legend of the Land Cruiser, I decided to try the GX460. While still a heavy beast, the steering was much softer and I didn't feel the road as much. However, the cornering was a bit top-heavy. The V8 engine was very powerful, but it was quite loud under the hood - standing outside the car, it sounded like a factory! The third-row seat is electronic folding only and can be prone to breaking over time. Additionally, the rear window hinge is susceptible to rain corrosion, and bolts and screws rust easily. Despite these issues, the interior is very refined. Overall, I found the Land Cruiser to be a great car, but it does have some areas for improvement. Personally, I would prefer the Tahoe. (I do wonder how the rear window hinge corrosion happened though - it's definitely something that should be addressed.)
