The Jaguar XF, produced in 2016, has been associated with several common problems based on complaints from owners. These issues range from electrical glitches to mechanical faults, some of which may require extensive repairs or replacements.
One of the significant problems with the 2016 Jaguar XF is the vehicle's failure to meet CO2 levels. Certain XF models, produced between 1 September 2016 and 5 July 2018, might have a problem producing the correct levels of CO2. This issue can be rectified by updating the software at a Jaguar dealer.
Another problem is related to the electrical system, specifically around the sat-nav and infotainment. It is essential to check these systems carefully when considering a purchase, as there have been issues reported.
Airbags may not deploy as intended in some XFs built between 1 February 2017 and 8 January 2018. Affected vehicles should have updated software installed by a Jaguar dealer to ensure proper airbag deployment in a collision.
Potential fuel leaks have been reported in XFs manufactured from 1 November 2016 and 6 April 2017, as well as in cars constructed between 20 April 2015 and 23 May 2016. These issues are caused by chafing fuel lines, which can potentially lead to fuel leaks. Affected vehicles will need to be inspected, have additional retaining clips installed, and have any damaged fuel lines replaced.
The engine may cut out and fail to restart in cars built between 1 April 2015 and 25 February 2016. This problem is caused by the low-pressure fuel line falling off, which can be resolved by fitting a different retaining clip to prevent the hose from detaching.
The instrument cluster may go blank intermittently in vehicles made between 1 September 2016 and 17 August 2017. Affected vehicles are to have the latest software installed to sort this issue.
Some XFs built between 14 February 2017 and 11 April 2017 didn't have an occupancy mat fitted to warn the driver of an unbuckled passenger on the front passenger seat. Affected vehicles should have this mat fitted by a Jaguar dealer.
In the latest What Car? Reliability Survey, the XF finished 20th out of 24 cars in the executive car class, with a score of 88.7%. The most common problems with the XF were bodywork, brakes, and sat-nav issues, which affected 28% of XFs. Although 68% of faults were fixed for free, some owners faced bills ranging from £751 to £1500.
Jaguar as a brand seems to be improving compared with previous survey results, although it still only managed a mediocre score of 29th out of 32 car manufacturers.
Is Jaguar XF reliable 2016?

Cause is described by Jaguar dealer as rear window leak that passes through rear tail lamp and floods under the spare destroying the PCM module. Car surged once in driveway and I was blessed to hit the brake. Never again. I have waited more than six weeks for repair and Jaguar refuses to take responsibility for the problem.

A WARNING WAS FLASHED ON THE DASH BUT WENT OFF IMMEDIATELY ALL THAT WAS SEEN WAS AN "A", AT THAT POINT THE AUTO STOP/START BUTTON WAS DISENGAGED AND THE ACCELERATION STOPPED. THE VEHICLE WAS ON A CITY STREET IN DOWNTOWN ORLANDO.

The room in the back seat is a bit tight. If you frequently have passengers in the back seat, this car may not be the most comfortable option for you.

If you're a fan of fast, wild cats, then this car is perfect for you! I must admit, I've had a bit of trouble with my Jaguar and have received a couple of speeding tickets, but I can't help but love how it runs. Even though I was pulled over for going 92 MPH, I was still impressed with how smoothly the car handled. I do wish it was a bit quieter and easier to control, but overall, I'm thrilled with my purchase. It's a unique car in my area and I get a lot of attention for its stylish design. I've even added tinted windows to make it even more eye-catching. The trunk is incredibly spacious and the back seats fold down easily, making it perfect for hauling things around. I've had no issues with the car and I'm glad I don't have to make the long trip to the dealership for repairs. Plus, if it's good enough for Queen Elizabeth, it's definitely the cat's meow for us!

It's really beautiful and luxurious, accelerates really well, and is fun to drive. It has great details, but it's worth noting that the steel calipers may rust a bit if you live in the Midwest.

I've had my Jaguar SF S for just over a year now, and unfortunately, I've had to take it to Jaguar Fort Lauderdale five times for the same issue. Every time it rains heavily, my rear door retains about a gallon of water, and despite leaving my car in the shop for longer periods, the problem has not been resolved. On the second occasion, they even drilled a hole in the interior of the door, which has never been patched. Whenever I call corporate to ask what can be done, I'm informed that they will do their best to fix it within the terms of my warranty, and that I have no other recourse. I'm disappointed that this issue has persisted despite multiple attempts to fix it. However, I must say that the only reason I haven't given up on my car and gone to a different dealer/make is because of the excellent service I receive from Ken Serra. He's been a great help to me, and I hope that the fifth time I take my car in will be the last. Missing work to drop off my car is becoming a hassle, but I'm hopeful that the issue will be resolved soon.

The computer takes a while to load navigation and audio, and the Auto Start/Stop feature can feel a bit like the car has stalled. It would be great if this feature could be disabled by the user permanently, rather than just per trip. Additionally, it would be helpful if there was a locking mechanism to secure the fuel door (in the United States) to prevent gas siphoning or contamination. The music can take a minute or more to start, and entering an address into the navigation can take several minutes. Lastly, the backup camera has a warning banner on the screen that can block the view for a moment when backing out of driveways or parking spaces. Despite these issues, the car is beautiful and drives nicely, with plenty of power. However, I have yet to achieve the minimum listed gas mileage.
