Common 2017 Infiniti Qx50 problems

The 2017 Infiniti QX50 is a luxury SUV that has been reported to have several common problems by its owners. One of the most commonly reported issues is brake failure at speeds over 40 mph. This problem is rare, but it has been reported more than once, making it a significant concern for drivers. Brake failure can be a serious safety hazard, and it is essential to address this issue promptly if it occurs.

Another common problem reported by Infiniti QX50 owners is steering wheel lock failure. This issue typically occurs when the car is parked, and the driver attempts to start the engine. In some cases, the steering wheel lock may become stuck, preventing the car from starting. This can be a frustrating and potentially dangerous problem, as it can leave drivers stranded without warning.

Fuel pump failure is another issue that has been reported by Infiniti QX50 owners. This problem can cause the engine to stall or not start at all, leaving drivers stranded on the side of the road. In some cases, the fuel pump may need to be replaced entirely, which can be a costly repair.

Transmission issues are also common in the Infiniti QX50. Some drivers have reported a delay in acceleration or shifting, while others have reported a loud clunking noise when shifting gears. In some cases, the transmission may need to be replaced entirely, which can be a significant expense.

Air conditioning problems have also been reported by some QX50 owners. The most common issue is a lack of cold air, even when the air conditioning is turned on. This can be especially frustrating during hot summer months when drivers rely on their air conditioning to keep them comfortable.

Electrical problems are another issue that has been reported by Infiniti QX50 owners. These issues can range from minor problems like a malfunctioning dashboard display to more serious issues like a complete electrical failure. In some cases, these problems can be caused by a faulty alternator or battery, which can be replaced relatively easily.

Finally, braking system issues have been reported by some Infiniti QX50 owners. These problems can include problems with the brake pads, rotors, or calipers. In some cases, the brakes may squeak or grind when applied, which can be a sign of worn brake pads or rotors. In more severe cases, the brakes may fail entirely, which can be a significant safety hazard.

In summary, the 2017 Infiniti QX50 has several common problems that have been reported by its owners. These issues include brake failure at speeds over 40 mph, steering wheel lock failure, fuel pump failure, transmission issues, air conditioning problems, electrical problems, and braking system issues. While these problems can be concerning, they are relatively rare, and the Infiniti QX50 is generally a reliable and high-quality vehicle. If you are considering purchasing a 2017 Infiniti QX50, it is essential to be aware of these potential issues and to address them promptly if they occur.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM

UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM

  • Date Of Incident: 2023-12-10
  • VIN: JN1BJ0RR0HM
  • Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER
  • Summary: Last year I had to have the BCM replaced on my infiniti. Here I am a year later and I'm being told that I have to replace the BCM again. The dealer told me that there's water that is literally streaming directly past the module due to the drainage coming from the sunroof. I have no idea why that I happening bring I haven't experienced any leakage from the sunroof. I definitely shouldn't have to replace a BCM 1 year after installation of a new module. Please take look into this issue. I just don't think it's fair that I have to replace another BCM due to the drainage ststem/path on such a luxurious car.

AIR BAGS PROBLEM

  • Date Of Incident: 2023-01-27
  • VIN: JN1BJ0RP0HM
  • Components: AIR BAGS
  • Summary: Airbag light came on. Diagnosed by Infinity as code B00AO-02 which requires replacing the Passenger Front Seat Bottom Assembly at the cost estimate of $9871.82 (date of estimate is 1/27/23) according to Infinity. Ethos extended warranty will not cover the issue as well as Infinity. Interesting info: Ethos did cover did not cover this particular make/model. However, after Infinity changed manufacture for above said problem, Ethos now covers the SRS problem described above in their extended warranty. This leads me to the suspicion that 'maybe' Infinity was aware of the problem since they changed manufacturer. THIS IS A CRITICAL SAFETY ISSUE! Mileage on the vehicle on 1/27/23 was 9,665 miles. This car is immaculate, never wrecked always garage kept, driven my 86 year old widow. The car is a so called 'high end' luxury vehicle with a sub-par SRS system.

PLEASE NOTE ,THE PUSH BUTTON ON THE HANDLE DO NOT WORK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, AND THE PUSH BUTTON DO NOT WORK ON THE HANDLE ON THE DRIVER SIDE THIS WOULD HAPPEN RANDOMLY EACH TIME I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR QX50 TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE ATTENTION I WAS TOLD THEY WILL NEED TO SEE THE ISSUE SO I PROVIDED THEM WITH THE VIDEO , THIS LAST TIME THEY SEEN IT THEMSELVES AND DECIDED TO HOLD ONTO THE FOR FURTHER RESEARCH , THIS IS WHEN I WAS ASKED TO PICK UP THE CAR IN ITS CONDITION. THEY CANNOT SAY WHY HANDLE SENSOR AND LOCK QUIT WORKING EVEN AFTER RUNNING DIAGNOSTICS. MY GUESS IS THAT SINCE BOTH SIDES AREN'T WORKING, IT IS UNLIKELY THAT THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE SENSOR AS BOTH SIDES WOULD HAVE HAD TO FAIL AT THE SAME TIME EACH TIME. *LN*JB

THERE IS GLASS RESIDUE ON THE MOON ROOF COVER WHICH INDICATES THAT THE COVER WAS CLOSED AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. FURTHERMORE IF THE COVER WASN'T IN PLACE THE GLASS WOULD HAVE RAINED DOWN INTO THE CABIN AND COULD HAVE HAD SIGNIFICANTLY INJURED MYSELF.

I am sorry to hear that you have had a negative experience with your QX 50. It seems that there are some areas where the car could be improved, such as the cup holders and entrance lights. Positive 2017 Infiniti Qx50 car reviews

  1. Vaughn Parker 2025-01-07

Hi there! I just wanted to share my experience with my 2017 Infiniti QX 50 in midnight garnet color with the wheat interior aluminum black inlay. I recently upgraded from my 2014 Honda Accord sedan and I couldn't be happier with my decision. This is my first SUV and it's the perfect size for me to drive. I absolutely love the luxury and class that this SUV exudes. I opted for the V6 3.7 base model which has everything I wanted at a price that I was comfortable with, and it even comes with a 6 speaker Bose system! The ride is incredibly comfortable for both the driver and passengers, and the backseat is very roomy and cozy. Although the storage area in the back is a bit small, it's not a big deal for me. Overall, I highly recommend the Infiniti QX 50. The interior details are fantastic and I'm still enjoying my QX50 as much as I did on the day I got it. Thanks for reading!

  4. Joesph Tromp 2024-10-05

I can't find anything I don't like about this vehicle, except for the cup holder being on the small side. The engine is amazing and it's very easy to speed without realizing it. The handling with the 19

  5. Harley Jacobi 2024-09-17

326 hp in a mid-size AWD SUV that handles and rides like a sport sedan with all the bells and whistles! Mechanically sound, no issues. The only thing I wish it had was a power liftgate.
