2015 Hyundai Genesis coupe problems
The Hyundai Genesis Coupe is a rear-wheel drive sports coupe from Hyundai Motor Company, first released on October 13, 2008, for the Korean market. It is Hyundai's first rear-wheel drive sports coupe, and shares its basic platform with the Hyundai Genesis luxury sedan.
The Genesis Coupe arrived in United States dealerships on February 26, 2009, as a 2010 model. Hyundai USA acting president and CEO John Krafcik described the Genesis Coupe as being designed "...to deliver a driving experience that challenges cars like the Infiniti G37."
With the launch of Genesis Motors as a standalone luxury brand, the Hyundai Genesis Coupe remained branded as a Hyundai and eventually was discontinued in 2016.

Common 2015 Hyundai Genesis coupe problems
The 2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe is a four-passenger sport coupe that comes in three trim levels: base, R-Spec, and Ultimate. While the car is known for its responsive handling, spirited acceleration, and good value, there are some common problems that owners have reported.
One of the most common issues with the 2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe is water leaks. The car's sunroof drains can become clogged, causing water to back up and leak into the car. The rear quarter windows can also leak water, and the taillight seals may not be sealed correctly, leading to water accumulation in the spare tire area. When the car is braked, the water can slide forward and drain down into the backseat and floor
Another common problem with the 2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe is the theft system alarm sounding for no reason. This issue can be frustrating for owners, and it is not always easy to diagnose or fix.
The 2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe also has some interior shortcomings. The rear seat is cramped, making it uncomfortable for adults to ride in the back.
The 2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe faces stiff competition from other sport coupes in its class. While it offers plenty of performance and value, its unyielding ride in R-Spec or Ultimate trim and some interior shortcomings can make it less appealing to some buyers.
Overall, while the 2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe is a capable sport coupe, it is not without its problems. Water leaks, a finicky theft system alarm, a cramped rear seat, and some interior shortcomings are all issues that owners have reported. However, with responsive handling, spirited acceleration, and good value, the car still has plenty to offer for those willing to overlook its flaws.

2015 Hyundai Genesis coupe recalls
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 3 recalls for different components of the 2015 Hyundai Genesis coupe.
- Manufacturer: Hyundai Motor America
- Park Out Side: 1
- Park Out Side: 1
- Components: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK/TRACTION CONTROL/ELECTRONIC LIMITED SLIP:CONTROL UNIT/MODULE
- Summary: Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2011-2015 Elantra, Genesis Coupe, Sonata Hybrid, 2012-2015 Accent, Azera, Veloster, 2013-2015 Elantra Coupe, Santa Fe, 2014-2015 Equus, 2010-2012 Veracruz, 2010-2013 Tucson, 2015 Tucson Fuel Cell, and 2013 Santa Fe Sport vehicles. The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module may leak brake fluid internally and cause an electrical short, which can result in an engine compartment fire while parked or driving.
- Consequence: An engine compartment fire while parked or driving can increase the risk of injury.
- Remedy: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will replace the ABS fuse, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 10, 2024 through October 11, 2024. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 251.
- Manufacturer: Hyundai Motor America
- Components: AIR BAGS:SENSOR:OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION
- Summary: Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain model year 2010-2016 Genesis Coupe vehicles manufactured December 12, 2008, to June 11, 2016. The electrical harness connector for the front passenger seat Occupant Classification System (OCS) may dislodge when the seat is moved.
- Consequence: In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the passenger frontal air bag, the disconnected OCS would, by default, cause the first stage, and only the first stage, of the air bag to deploy, whether there is a child seat in the front seat and the bag should not deploy or if the crash is severe and both stages should deploy. Either scenario increases the risk of injury to the front seat occupant.
- Remedy: Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will secure the OCS connector to prevent it from disconnecting, free of charge. Parts are not currently available and a second letter will be sent to owners when parts are available. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 151.
- Manufacturer: Hyundai Motor America
- Components: SUSPENSION:REAR
- Summary: Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Genesis Coupe vehicles manufactured December 28, 2011, to April 6, 2015, equipped with manual transmissions. In the affected vehicles, if the differential and the suspension rear crossmember were not properly aligned during vehicle assembly, the bolts that secure the differential may loosen.
- Consequence: If the rear differential loosens from its mounting position, the driveshaft may disconnect from the differential, resulting in a loss of propulsion and an increased risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will verify the proper assembly of the differential, free of charge. The recall began on December 30, 2015. Owners may contact Hyundai's customer service at 1-855-671-3059. Hyundai's number for this recall is 135.

If you're looking for a car to take your family on long distance trips, this style may not be the best fit. However, if you're looking for a car that's pure fun, then this is the one for you! It's perfect for your daily commute, running errands, and quick trips to the beach. You'll definitely get a lot of admiration and questions about it. In fact, it's the most fun car I've ever driven! *Update after owning it for almost 6 years - this is the longest I've ever kept a car without trading it in for a new one! It still runs fantastically and gets comments, turns heads, and spurs compliments. I truly wish they still made this car! If they did with upgraded technology, I would definitely consider trading it in. Otherwise, I'm still happy to keep it.

I really love my car, despite some minor flaws that are common to all of them. Firstly, the turbo waste gate does rattle, but only until the car warms up, and then it's fine. It's not as loud as some people say, just a bit annoying if your windows are down and the radio is off and you're near a wall or something. Some people are just sensitive to any noise at all. Secondly, I wouldn't recommend getting the Navigation because the touchscreen can be a bit finicky and always needs recalibrating. However, this issue doesn't last and you only need to push in one place to fix it. The interior design is not great and Hyundai's warranty isn't the best. I wouldn't be sold on the 100K warranty as it has a lot of holes in it. If you're not the first owner, it's only good for 60K miles, not 100K, and it only covers the powertrain, nothing else. Despite these small things, it's a fun, quick, and reliable car. I've driven about 65k miles and haven't had any problems yet. For the money, it's a great deal if you can get it for around 16K, like I did. I wouldn't recommend buying new as they depreciate like crazy because they're a Hyundai, not a Toyota or Honda, which have better resale value. However, for reliability, they do hold their own and make a great daily driver. The car gets a lot of looks and questions on what it is, especially with the wing badge kit deleting the Hyundai logos. People can't believe it's a Hyundai. Overall, I really love the car and think it's great value for money.

I hope you're doing well! I wanted to share my experience with my car. When I bought it new, I had never seen this model before, but I was pleasantly surprised by its reliability, good performance, affordability, and eye-catching design. Although I've had some minor issues with the paint flaking/peeling on the front bumper and rear fender, overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase. The interior is fairly standard, but I do appreciate the tan-colored seats that come with the GT model. When I first got the car, people were impressed by the LED DRL, which was a relatively new feature in 2013. However, I do wish that the headlights were HID instead of halogen. Despite this, I would still give the car a 4-star rating. My only concern is the resale value, as Hyundai is not typically considered a high-end brand. On a personal note, after about a year, I gave the car to my wife, and she absolutely loves it! However, she did have a bit of trouble adjusting to the horsepower and has received a few speeding tickets as a result. Thank you for taking the time to read about my experience!

Thanks for considering this car! It's a real road racer with great handling, super performance, good looks, and good fuel economy. You can expect 17MPG around town and 27MPG on the highway. If you opt for the Premium version, you'll get a sunroof and navigation, among other extras. While this car is electronically limited to 150+MPH, I can personally vouch for its ability to reach 135. Just be careful not to get a speeding ticket! This car is definitely meant to be driven and has plenty of trunk space for two people. However, it's important to note that it may not be the best choice for families with children, as the back seat is not designed for adults and can be a pain to install a baby seat in. Thanks again for considering this exciting car!

I rarely write reviews, but I felt compelled to write one for the 2013 Genesis 2.0T. I've noticed a lot of mixed reviews, especially for the 2.0T. However, I find it to be an extremely fun car for the price of 25k. The power from the 4 banger is more than adequate if you're not an enthusiast or a tuner. The car receives a lot of looks, and I love the fact that it's not a common car on the road yet, which gives you a sense of exclusivity. The handling is good and can take corners relatively well, but by no means is it on the same level as an FRS/BRZ. I've seen a lot of concerns and complaints about the wastegate on the turbo rattling, but my Genesis has about 2500 miles with no issues so far (knocks on every piece of wood known to mankind). Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase.

This car is a great purchase, with fantastic power, great sounds, and high performance, especially for the price. The sport seats are very comfortable, and the suspension, while stiff, still provides a comfortable ride. The rear seats fold down, which is a huge plus. However, I must report that after one year of ownership, the manual transmission has proven to be problematic due to poor design. The synchronizer rings cause grinding shifts, and the shifter rattles incessantly. I recommend getting the automatic version of this car. If you do choose the manual, make sure you have a warranty and expect to replace it around 60k miles. Overall, this car is a great choice for those looking for a powerful and fun ride.

The 2013 2.0T premium model may experience a rattling sound emanating from the turbo waste, which has been reported by several owners. Despite Hyundai's refusal to address the issue, it is important to note that this is not a normal occurrence. The loose washers on a bolt sound can be quite unpleasant to hear. It is unfortunate that some owners have had negative experiences with their vehicles, but it is important to note that this is not representative of all Hyundai models. It is always advisable to consult with a certified mechanic to address any issues with your vehicle.

You're in for a treat with this ride! It's beautiful, comfortable, and relatively inexpensive. However, there are a few issues with the transmission and waste gate design that can be a bit of a downer. After three thousand miles, you might notice some rattling from the waste gate and grinding from the transmission, which can be a bit concerning. Unfortunately, Hyundai claims that this is normal and won't take any action to address it. Despite this, it's still a great ride that you'll enjoy!

I purchased a 2013 Hyundai Genesis three years ago, after trading in my 350Z. Unfortunately, I encountered some issues with the engine, which stopped working at only 62k miles. Despite having some trouble with the warranty company, I am hopeful that I will be able to resolve the issue soon. I took great care of the car, using 10-30 weight during the summer and 5-30 in the winter, and only driving it on weekends, which explains the low mileage. While I have had some difficulties, I believe that the Genesis is still a great car, and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in purchasing one. Of course, it's always important to do your research and make an informed decision. Best of luck!

I recently purchased a 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe with a 6-speed manual transmission. Unfortunately, when I press the clutch, the car makes some unpleasant clanking and rattling noises. I took the car back to the dealership, but they informed me that this is normal. I even tried switching to a different car, but it had the same issue. Despite many complaints from customers, Hyundai does not recognize this as a problem. Overall, I am quite disappointed with this car and would not recommend it to others.
