The Hyundai Genesis Coupe is a rear-wheel drive sports coupe from Hyundai Motor Company, first released on October 13, 2008, for the Korean market. It is Hyundai's first rear-wheel drive sports coupe, and shares its basic platform with the Hyundai Genesis luxury sedan.
The Genesis Coupe arrived in United States dealerships on February 26, 2009, as a 2010 model. Hyundai USA acting president and CEO John Krafcik described the Genesis Coupe as being designed "...to deliver a driving experience that challenges cars like the Infiniti G37."
With the launch of Genesis Motors as a standalone luxury brand, the Hyundai Genesis Coupe remained branded as a Hyundai and eventually was discontinued in 2016.

- Summary: Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2011-2015 Elantra, Genesis Coupe, Sonata Hybrid, 2012-2015 Accent, Azera, Veloster, 2013-2015 Elantra Coupe, Santa Fe, 2014-2015 Equus, 2010-2012 Veracruz, 2010-2013 Tucson, 2015 Tucson Fuel Cell, and 2013 Santa Fe Sport vehicles. The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module may leak brake fluid internally and cause an electrical short, which can result in an engine compartment fire while parked or driving.
- Consequence: An engine compartment fire while parked or driving can increase the risk of injury.
- Remedy: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will replace the ABS fuse, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 10, 2024 through October 11, 2024. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 251.

- Summary: Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain model year 2010-2016 Genesis Coupe vehicles manufactured December 12, 2008, to June 11, 2016. The electrical harness connector for the front passenger seat Occupant Classification System (OCS) may dislodge when the seat is moved.
- Consequence: In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the passenger frontal air bag, the disconnected OCS would, by default, cause the first stage, and only the first stage, of the air bag to deploy, whether there is a child seat in the front seat and the bag should not deploy or if the crash is severe and both stages should deploy. Either scenario increases the risk of injury to the front seat occupant.
- Remedy: Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will secure the OCS connector to prevent it from disconnecting, free of charge. Parts are not currently available and a second letter will be sent to owners when parts are available. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 151.

- Summary: Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Genesis Coupe vehicles manufactured December 28, 2011, to April 6, 2015, equipped with manual transmissions. In the affected vehicles, if the differential and the suspension rear crossmember were not properly aligned during vehicle assembly, the bolts that secure the differential may loosen.
- Consequence: If the rear differential loosens from its mounting position, the driveshaft may disconnect from the differential, resulting in a loss of propulsion and an increased risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will verify the proper assembly of the differential, free of charge. The recall began on December 30, 2015. Owners may contact Hyundai's customer service at 1-855-671-3059. Hyundai's number for this recall is 135.

I became the proud owner of this car two years ago and have been thoroughly enjoying it ever since. On long trips, I average an impressive 29 mpg, with 27.9 easily achievable. Even in town driving, I get a respectable 20.2 to 21 mpg. Every time I take this car out, I receive compliments and inquiries about its make and model. I have absolutely no regrets about purchasing this car. Hyundai has come a long way since the 1990s and this car is a testament to that. It's fun, sporty, and quick, although not necessarily fast. Even in its stock form, this car ran an impressive 13.57 @104 mph at Cecil County Dragway in Maryland. While I cannot comment on the 2.0 turbo, I can say that my friend's 2010 track model had lower quality interior trim, which was a huge complaint. However, Hyundai fixed this issue starting with the 2013 model year and also added direct injection to the engine, as well as beefed up internals. The newer models are rated at 348 hp, compared to the 306 hp of the 2012 and older models, with torque at 267/295 respectively. My car dynoed at 312 hp and 278 tq at the rear tires, although I do have many bolt-ons. The trim levels include the base model, the rspec model with a racing suspension and Brembo brakes, the grand touring (GT) model with a softer suspension and open rear differential, and the top-of-the-line fully loaded leather interior track model. The track model enjoys the performance upgrades of the rspec while adding all the luxury features of the top trim. Starting in 2014, the track edition was renamed the Ultimate package, and is identical except in name.

This car is absolutely amazing! I can tell you from personal experience that it's worth every penny. After months of research, I chose this car over the Nissan 370Z, Mustang GT, and BMW 128i coupe, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. The handling is impressive, and the front seats are spacious and comfortable. Plus, the instant power and awesome styling make it a joy to drive. On a recent 4-hour trip, I got an impressive 30mpg, which is just another reason to love this car. While the back seat is a bit small, I appreciate the extra trunk space and the ability to legally fit up to 3 passengers. With 2000 miles under my belt, I can confidently say that this car is the perfect fit for me.

I purchased a 2013 Hyundai Genesis three years ago, after trading in my 350Z. Unfortunately, I encountered some issues with the engine, which stopped working at only 62k miles. Despite having some trouble with the warranty company, I am hopeful that I will be able to resolve the issue soon. I took great care of the car, using 10-30 weight during the summer and 5-30 in the winter, and only driving it on weekends, which explains the low mileage. While I have had some difficulties, I believe that the Genesis is still a great car, and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in purchasing one. Of course, it's always important to do your research and make an informed decision. Best of luck!

I recently purchased a 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe with a 6-speed manual transmission. Unfortunately, when I press the clutch, the car makes some unpleasant clanking and rattling noises. I took the car back to the dealership, but they informed me that this is normal. I even tried switching to a different car, but it had the same issue. Despite many complaints from customers, Hyundai does not recognize this as a problem. Overall, I am quite disappointed with this car and would not recommend it to others.
