2009 Volkswagen Cc problems
The Volkswagen CC, initially sold as the Volkswagen Passat CC, is a car built by German marque Volkswagen from 2008 to 2016. It is a variant of the Volkswagen Passat that trades headroom and cargo space for a coupé-like profile and sweeping roofline. The CC debuted in January 2008, at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit and was discontinued after the 2017 model year.
Volkswagen said the name CC stands for Comfort Coupe, recognizing its combination of a coupe-like profile with four rather than two doors. While based on the Passat, and sharing its wheelbase, the CC is 27 mm (1.06 inches) longer, 50 mm (1.97 inches) lower, and 36 mm (1.42 inches) wider than the Passat.
While the CC has been replaced by the Arteon in most markets, the latter vehicle retains the CC nameplate in China.

Common 2009 Volkswagen Cc problems
The Volkswagen CC, introduced in 2009, has been praised for its power and driving dynamics. However, it has also been criticized for its reliability, with RepairPal giving it a score of 2.5 out of 5. Here are some of the common problems reported by owners of the 2009 Volkswagen CC:
- Frequent Timing Belt Failure: The Volkswagen CC's timing belt is known to fail frequently, causing engine damage. This issue has led to a class-action settlement that would reimburse owners for previous repairs or fund future work.
- Engine Stalling: The 2009 Volkswagen CC has been reported to have engine stalling issues, which can be dangerous while driving. This problem has been reported by several owners, and it can be caused by various factors, including ignition coil failure.
- Malfunctioning Brake Lights: Some owners have reported issues with the brake lights not working properly. This can be a safety hazard and should be addressed immediately.
- Transmission Problems: The Volkswagen CC has been reported to have transmission issues, including failure. This can be a costly repair and should be addressed promptly.
- Clock Spring Failure: Volkswagen owners have reported clock spring failure years after the parts were first recalled. This can result in a disabled driver's side airbag, horn, and steering wheel controls.
- Defective Timing Chain: The Volkswagen CC's EA888 2.0-liter engine has a history of tensioner problems that can lead to a loose timing chain and engine damage. This issue has led to a series of lawsuits and a settlement that offers an extended warranty and potential repairs.
- Takata Airbag Recalls: A large number of Volkswagen vehicles, including the CC, have been recalled due to dangerous airbag inflators made by Takata. These inflators have been recalled in over 37 million vehicles and can potentially hurt occupants.
These are some of the common problems reported by owners of the 2009 Volkswagen CC. It is important to note that while these issues have been reported, not all vehicles will experience them. IF THIS WIRING DAMAGE OCCURS, THE AIRBAG CONTROL MODULE WILL SWITCH TO A FALLBACK ALGORITHM AND DEACTIVATE THE PASSENGER'S FRONTAL AIR BAG.
- Consequence: IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, THE PASSENGER'S FRONTAL AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PROPERLY PROTECT AN OCCUPANT, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURIES.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND ADJUST THE ROUTING OF THE RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT WIRING HARNESS. IF A DAMAGED WIRING HARNESS IS FOUND, THE HARNESS WILL BE REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING APRIL 2009. OWNERS MAY CONTACT VOLKSWAGEN AT 1-800-822-8987.

I bought my VW CC with slight hesitation as I originally did not want the VR6 4-motion. However, the vehicle that fit my description was not available at my local dealer. They did have a VR6 4-Motion in Iron Gray ext w/navi (64mi on the ODM) with a huge discount on the price as they were already getting in MY10s. So, I took it. It took me a while to get used to the exterior color, but I instantly fell in love with the car when winter came with heavy snow. The 4-motion makes driving in Michigan snow weather so easy when I compare it to my previous MY2000 BMW 323i. No slips or ESC/TCS lights blinking...just WONDERFUL!

This is such an amazing vehicle! As someone who has owned every major luxury brand - Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, Acura, Lexus, etc. - I can confidently say that this might just be the most enjoyable car I have ever owned. It is simply stunning in design, and handles like a dream with its ability to pull .93 lateral G's. The engine sounds beautiful and the transmission is flawless, making for a truly seamless driving experience. The ergonomics are also top-notch, as only the Germans can design. What's more, this car is incredibly well-balanced in all respects, and has received the highest ratings by the IIHS in frontal, side and rear collisions, making it one of their

I visited several dealerships in search of a new vehicle, including Lexus (E300), Mercedes Benz (C Class), Volvo (S40/60), and Acura (TL/TSX). While I was at the Acura dealership, I noticed the CC and decided to test drive it that day. I was impressed with the unique interior and exterior styling, and even though the other cars may have had more power, the CC was more reasonably priced. I have previously owned a Jetta and a New Beetle, and now I have been driving the CC for about a month. I believe that this car will definitely make buyers consider Volkswagen.

What a lovely car! The ride is fantastic, and the interior is so comfortable. It's truly an amazing experience. VW has really hit the jackpot with this one. My wife and I drive the CC and we can't help but notice all the attention it gets. On the very first day I got the car, three people stopped me to ask about it. I switched from a Honda Pilot to the CC and it was such a great move. One word describes the VW CC - AMAZING!

I recently purchased a car and wanted to share my first impressions. After considering several options such as the BMW 328/330, G35, and Civic hatchback, I was leaning towards the G35. However, when the VW CC arrived, I decided to check out the cheaper option at around $31k. To my surprise, the front-wheel-drive CC handles the road exceptionally well, even on the poor quality roads in California. The sporty driving style is impressive, and the 200hp engine delivers superior momentum, almost comparable to the 360hp G35. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase and highly recommend the VW CC.

Direct Injection requires cleaning the intake valves at around 100,000 miles due to the lack of fuel to clean the buildup on these valves. Unfortunately, wear on the rear tires has been a problem on these cars. One of the original tires was worn on the inside edge (into the cord) at 37,000 miles, while the other three had even wear and 50% of the tread left. Although the alignment was checked several times and found to be correct, the dealer said this is because of the performance alignment. However, I don't buy it as only one tire (right rear) wore out. There is lots of talk on the internet about damage to the rear suspension during tie-down on the delivery trucks. Rotation helps mask the problem, but 75% of the tread wear on the car takes place on the right rear. On the bright side, the car comes with a 12-year rust-through warranty and great mileage. You can easily get 35 mpg on the highway and 40 mpg if you go 55.

This is my first and last VW. Although the driving experience was impressive, I had some issues with the car. Firstly, I had to deal with fuel injection problems all the time, and every time I had to take it to the dealership and they would change it under warranty. When the car was out of warranty, I was paying $400 every year or so to change them. Secondly, I believe in following maintenance schedules and giving the car optimal treatment, but unfortunately, this car was not reliable. It had to be taken to the mechanic at least twice a year for different issues. Lastly, the ride quality was amazing and it drove much better than the BMW 3 series and Lexus IS. It continued to drive like new until the day I traded it in at 79k miles.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to share my experience with my 2009 lease. It's a really beautiful car, but unfortunately, I've had a few issues with it. The steering sensor light went on just four days after I left the lot, and I've had to take it back to the dealership three times for that problem. On one return, they found a leaking coolant system, and now it's back in the dealership for a leak on the rear passenger floorboard. It's been eight days and counting for the leak, and another three weeks for the steering light issue. It's been a bit of a hassle, but when it's not in the shop, it's a great car. Just wanted to give you a heads up. Take care!

I must assert that this car has a design flaw that significantly detracts from the ownership experience. The doors have a tendency to accumulate water after rainfall, particularly the rear doors, which can result in water gushing out onto one's feet when opened. This issue is not unique to my vehicle and has been reported by other owners. Unfortunately, my local dealer has not been able to provide a solution to this problem. Given the potential safety hazard posed by the accumulation of ice in the winter, it is imperative that this issue be addressed. I strongly advise caution when considering this vehicle.

I purchased a 2009cc car in 2009, which was my very first brand new car. Unfortunately, I experienced some issues with the car shortly after purchasing it. The bottom of the car sounded as if it was about to fall out, and there were also radio issues. Since then, I have had to take the car to the repair shop more than 50 times, and it has only 36000 miles on it almost 10 years later. I have been dealing with some challenges with the dealer, but I am still hopeful that I will receive compensation from VW or file a lawsuit. I would not recommend purchasing a VW car, and I am currently trying to sell it so that I can buy an American made car. I hope that no one else has to go through what I have experienced. Thank you for listening.
