The Honda CR-Z is a sport compact hybrid electric car manufactured by Honda and marketed as a "sport hybrid coupe." The CR-Z is the sixth unique version of Honda's Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) technology since the technology was first launched in the first generation Insight 3 door hatchback. Sales of the CR-Z began in Japan in February 2010. Sales in the U.S. began in August 2010, and production ended by the end of 2016.

The passenger door lock works sometimes but the car will constantly try to lock that door if it is unlocked, because it won’t always lock. The dealership isn’t sure, I wonder if it’s a fuse because I hear the entire mechanism when it works. Also, it works with the drivers side child safety control which turns off the controls on the passengers side and also keeps it locked so someone cant jump in your cat when you unlock the drivers door. This is the exact problem the Accords and CRV has in the same year and I want to get mine repaired also. Its in perfect condition and taken care of.

These vehicles are equipped with driver frontal air bag inflators assembled as a recall remedy part or replacement service part, that may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, temperature and temperature cycling.
- Consequence: An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
- Remedy: Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver frontal air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall began August 12, 2019. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are S5B and W59.

I've been the proud owner of a 6-speed CR-Z for the past 11 months, and I still look forward to getting behind the wheel. Let's be honest, if you're considering the 6-speed, then mileage is not the only thing on your mind. It's all about the drive! The windier the road, the better. Any time at the wheel, listening to a great sound system, is an absolute joy. Even long trips become more enjoyable. What this car delivers on is very solid, crisp road handling, head-turning good looks, maneuverability in tight spaces, Honda quality, great fit and finish, very conservative fuel consumption, and it's just plain fun to drive!

I bought this car at an auction in 2020. At first, I was a bit disappointed with its size and the lack of back seats. However, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise, especially with the rising gas prices and used car values. I have a 65-mile commute to work, and the car has been a reliable companion. I purchased it with 67k miles on it, and it now has over 160k miles, but it still runs great! The only major repair I had to do was the clutch burning out at around 150k miles, which was expected. Other than that, just regular maintenance. The previous owner installed some ridiculous headlights, which caused some electrical issues with the headlights, but that's not the car's fault. I've even driven it in heavy rain and light snow storms in the northeast US, and the traction control feature has been a lifesaver. I'm 5'10'' and 215 lbs, and while getting in and out of the car can be a bit of a challenge, it's still pretty comfortable. I've taken my wife and dog on road trips with a full trunk many times, and we somehow made it work. It's definitely worth it for a car that I know won't break down and gets 40mpg. Initially, I thought about flipping the car and getting a civic, but now I think I'll ride this baby until the wheels fall off... and then probably buy some new wheels. Thank you, God, for this amazing car!

The CR-Z is a unique car that may not be for everyone, but if you're into its quirky style, it can be quite enjoyable. However, the short wheelbase and S+ button make up for it, making it fun to drive on winding roads. The sound system, complete with a subwoofer, is the best I've had in a car. The CR-Z has three modes: Econ, Normal, and Sport. Econ is best for stop-and-go traffic, while Normal increases throttle response. Sport mode disables the engine-off feature at stop lights and allows for higher revs before shifting. There's also a mode that lets you use the paddles to shift, but it requires some setup. The CR-Z's resale value is not as strong as other Hondas, but it's a great car for those who appreciate its unique style and features. The only downside is the poor rear visibility, but the reverse camera helps with parking.That being said, you can purchase a good example of this car at a very affordable price. Rest assured, this is a reliable and enjoyable vehicle. These cars are built and assembled in Honda's Japanese factory, which is a testament to their quality. In conclusion, if you are not in need of a lot of space, do not have to transport many people, and are looking for a commuter car with good mileage and above-average fun factor, then this is an excellent choice.

Don't miss out just because of the expensive tag. There's some joy to be had in a single CR-Z experience, no matter the driver's age or style, whether you're a racer or just a casual driver! And don't worry if you're tall like me (I'm 6'3), you'll still fit comfortably. While it may not be the best choice for a family car, if you're looking for an economical option, the CR-Z is a no-brainer. But if you need something more family-friendly, you might want to consider a Honda Fit instead.

I have tested and considered many hybrids. Although I love the technology of the Prius, I wanted something different and better looking. I am absolutely in love with my little CRZ and I smile every time I drive it. Recently, a couple in a Prius pulled up next to me just to say how much they loved my car. Don't get me wrong, the Prius is a completely different vehicle with excellent storage, but if you want a great looking car that handles well, looks awesome, and gets close to 40mpg in the real world, then the CRZ is the car for you! The gauges are beautiful and the sound system is incredible. Additionally, the road noise is reasonably low and the car is fast enough in sport mode. The fit and finish of the car is excellent.

Looks better than in pictures. The seat is nice, but the height adjustment could be improved as it tilts at the same time. The shifter is very good. However, the rear wheels are too much tucked inside the fenders. The car is reluctant to accelerate at any rpm, and the engine noise is not what one would expect from a Honda. Revs build slowly. The brake pedal feels unnatural with no initial bite, and the steering does not feel connected, like most electric steering systems. Additionally, the clutch is too soft, making it hard to feel the engagement point.

I recently traded in my Honda CRZ after owning it for 2 years. Unfortunately, I found that it wasn't worth the 20k I paid for it. While the car has potential, it lacks the necessary thought process to make it truly unique and valuable. The interior is made of cheap materials that scratch easily, especially since the car sits low to the ground. Additionally, the engine shuts off when the car stops, which can be frustrating. The car is also prone to dents and has some blind spots. However, I have since purchased a Dodge Dart that I am very happy with. It's faster and gets the same gas mileage as the CRZ.
