The fifth-generation Honda CR-V is a compact crossover SUV manufactured by Honda since 2016, replacing the fourth-generation CR-V. It was first unveiled on 13 October 2016 in Detroit, United States. The fifth generation CR-V was also launched in Thailand on 24 March 2017 and in Indonesia on 27 April 2017 at the 25th Indonesia International Motor Show. Indonesian models went on sale on 17 June 2017. The Indonesian model top trim (Prestige) is equipped with 5-spoke 18-inch Modulo alloy wheels not seen in other markets.
In the Philippines, the 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine manages 120 PS and 300 Nm of torque.
The 158 kW (212 hp; 215 PS) CR-V Hybrid was unveiled at the 2017 Auto Shanghai in China in April 2017.
On 12 July 2017, Honda Malaysia launched the fifth generation CR-V with four trim levels. After two years, Honda Malaysia launched the CR-V Mugen Limited Edition.
The fifth generation CR-V was also launched in Japan on 30 August 2018 and went on sale on the following day, making it the return of the CR-V for the Japanese domestic market after a two-year hiatus since the fourth generation CR-V was discontinued there in August 2016. It was previously displayed on 27 October 2017 at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show, announced on 29 September 2017.
The European market CR-V was shown at Geneva Motor Show in March 2018 and went on sale in September, including a seven-seat variant. The CR-V hybrid, which was previewed at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, went on sale in early 2019 with a fuel economy comparable to diesel competitors. Honda expects sales to split equally between gasoline and hybrid in three years.

I really enjoyed the 2021 model so much that I decided to purchase the 2022 model, both EXL. The ride is incredibly smooth and comfortable, although not quite as nice as my old Buick, which is hard to beat nowadays. The car is very quiet and performs well, and I especially love the LED headlights which provide excellent visibility at night. The blind spot monitor and adaptive cruise control make driving both easy and safe. As for the fuel economy, I usually get the EPA average, sometimes even better. The car feels very safe and spacious, with plenty of room for cargo. Although there is no spare tire, I estimate that this will not be an issue as the car has no alternator or starter, and the brakes last much longer. Safety was my top priority when purchasing this car, followed by comfort and great gas mileage. Overall, I have never been stranded in my Honda and it always works perfectly. Don't worry too much about the spare tire, as safety is the most important factor.

Auto Emergency breaks- sometimes auto application of breaks with no any objection. Noisy- It sounds like a spaceship and can be heard a block away. Electric battery- never fully charged even after driving 100 miles continuously. Mileage- never meets the manufacturer's claims, way lower than what is described on the website/paper.

I have owned multiple Honda vehicles, including two CRVs, and I have always been impressed with their quality. However, I have noticed that the gas mileage on my current CRV is not meeting my expectations. Additionally, I have found the electronics to be quite challenging to learn, and the manual has not been very helpful in this regard. Despite these difficulties, I am confident that with more time and practice, I will be able to fully utilize all of the features of this car and feel more comfortable while driving it.

The electronics are substandard, the climate control is terrible, and the mileage falls far short of the advertised ratings. I strongly advise against this product.

Not a gas saver as expected. Poor highway gas performance, and very loud climbing hills. For inner-city ride, it is a comfortable, smooth, and quiet experience. It is not the case in the mountains of Utah where we reside. Climbing the canyon on our regular commute, the Hybrid's performance is a 'tense' and uncomfortable ride. The noise of the acceleration while in the mountains, creates an insecure feeling causing the nuisances already mentioned.
