The Chevrolet Corvette is a line of American two-door, two-seater sports cars, manufactured and marketed by General Motors, under the Chevrolet marque, since 1953.

The first three Corvette generations (1953–1983) employed body-on-frame construction, and since the C4 generation, introduced in 1983 as an early 1984 model, Corvettes have used GM's unibody Y‑body platform. All Corvettes used front mid-engine configuration for seven generations, through 2019, and transitioned to a rear mid-engined layout with the C8 generation.
In 1953, GM executives accepted a suggestion by Myron Scott, then the assistant director of the Public Relations department, to name the company's new sports car after the corvette, a small maneuverable warship. The first model, a convertible, was introduced at the 1953 GM Motorama as a concept car; production models went on sale later that year. In 1963, the second generation was introduced in coupe and convertible styles. Originally manufactured in Flint, Michigan, and St. Louis, Missouri, the Corvette has been produced in Bowling Green, Kentucky, since 1981, which is also the location of the National Corvette Museum.
The Corvette has become widely known as "America's Sports Car." Automotive News wrote that after being featured in the early 1960s television show Route 66, "the Corvette became synonymous with freedom and adventure," ultimately becoming both "the most successful concept car in history and the most popular sports car in history."

- Engine Oil Leaks: The LT1 engine is prone to engine oil leaks, most especially around the front and rear of the intake manifold. The manifold was sealed at the ends with RTV rather than gasket material and tended to leak even straight from the factory. Other common areas to check for oil leaks on the engine include: the timing chain cover, the valve covers, the waterpump drive seal, the oil pan, and the front and rear main bearing seals. Regular inspection and maintenance of these areas can help prevent oil leaks.
- Rough Idle at Start-Up: The LT1 engine often exhibits a rough idle at start-up, especially after the car has been sitting for an extended period of time. The most probable cause of the idling issue is fouled injectors. In many instances, adding a fuel stabilizer and/or fuel injection cleaner to the fuel tank helps resolve this issue.
- Transmission Leaks: A transmission leak may occur from the pump body on 4L60-E transmissions due to the pump bushing walking out of the valve body. It should be noted the ZF6 transmission is somewhat noisy (particularly in neutral with the clutch out). The transmission is controlled by an electronic control unit. In some instances, this unit is known to fail, causing erratic transmission shifting problems resulting in drivability issues.
- Radiator Issues: It is quite common for road debris and trash to get sucked up between the radiator and the A/C condensor, thereby blocking air flow and causing the engine to overheat. This area should be inspected and cleaned out at regular intervals. Check the underside of the radiator for signs of leaking coolant, the side tanks on the factory radiator are constructed of plastic and may be cracked and leaking on a higher mileage car.
- Air Conditioning Problems: All 1995 Corvettes are subject to one of two A/C problems: First, failure to be able to raise or lower cabin temperature by pushing on the temperature up/down control buttons on the dash are usually due to a failed A/C Controller Module. Second, air conditioning blows on the floor or through the defrost vents only but not through the dash vents. These are indications of a bad A/C Program Module.
- Weather Stripping: The weather stripping on all late model C4 Corvettes is not very durable and may need to be replaced to prevent water leaks and air drafts.
- Power Brake Booster: The power brake booster is known to fail on late C4 Corvettes, causing the brakes to stop working. This issue can be resolved by replacing the faulty power brake booster.

Hi there! Thank you for considering our car. We wanted to let you know that we bought it used with 42,000 miles and it has been a great ride ever since. It's a regular coupe with A/T and limited options for 1995, but it has everything you need. We've only had to replace normal items like tires, battery, and brakes, and we did have to fix the power window motor on the driver's side at around 54,000 miles. Other than that, the LT1 has been very reliable and we haven't had any problems with it. Let us know if you have any questions!

The car is really fun to drive! Although the gas mileage isn't the greatest, it definitely gets up and goes. I absolutely love the style and sleek lines. The only downside is that it can be a bit difficult to get in and out of the car since it sits so low.

I absolutely adore this sports car! The handling and speed are phenomenal. It's my go-to car for weekend trips to the local gym/metro in Greenbelt, Md. While I have my eye on a Porsche 911 Turbo wide body and a '95 Vette for my sports car collection, nothing compares to this beauty. I did have an '89 911 Turbo before, which I loved, but the Vette's handling won me over. It's with a heavy heart that I have to sell this car due to my relocation to Thailand. I'll be placing an ad this weekend.

Your car sounds like a great daily driver and perfect for weekend getaways. I'm impressed with the amount of storage space in the rear compartment. The LT1 drivetrain is outstanding in terms of horsepower, torque, gas mileage, and dependability. It's amazing that the paint job still looks great after 14 years. The fact that you only need tune-ups every 100,000 miles is fantastic. Additionally, the Z07 brakes are a great feature, especially since the ZR1 has been eliminated. Overall, it sounds like an outstanding value and allows you to allocate more funds towards your house note since these cars are so affordable.

I was actually searching for a used Corvette from '97 or later, but I accidentally stumbled upon an ad with pictures of this car. It reminded me of how impressed I was by the look of the later C4s when I first saw them. At first, I didn't think I was a 'Torch Red' kind of guy, but the more I thought about it, I realized that it's a Vette! I absolutely love the look, size, feel, and reactions to this car. Sure, it's difficult to get in and out of, and it's loud, but it's a sports car after all!

I have a basic model that is still completely stock (except for a K&N filter). With the automatic transmission, I was able to run the 1/4 mile in 13.66 at 101 mph. It's a lot of fun to drive, and people always stop to comment on the color, Bright Aqua Metallic (which is also the least produced color, besides the Gran Sport purple). It has 58K miles, and I've had no mechanical problems. Although there were a couple of electrical bugs, they were no big deal. I absolutely love it!
