Honda Cr-v hybrid problems
The fifth-generation Honda CR-V is a compact crossover SUV manufactured by Honda since 2016, replacing the fourth-generation CR-V. It was first unveiled on 13 October 2016 in Detroit, United States. Honda began producing the CR-V at East Liberty, Ohio at the East Liberty Auto Plant in November 2016 and at Greensburg, Indiana at the Honda Manufacturing of Indiana plant during February 2017. The fifth-generation of CR-V is available in 5-seater and 7-seater variant in markets other than North America.
Markets
Sales began in the U.S. on 21 December 2016 as a 2017 model year. While most North American market cars are made in the ELAP, HMIN or HCM plants, some, albeit relatively very few, are assembled in Saitama, Japan.
The fifth generation CR-V was also launched in Thailand on 24 March 2017 and in Indonesia on 27 April 2017 at the 25th Indonesia International Motor Show. Indonesian models went on sale on 17 June 2017. The Indonesian model top trim (Prestige) is equipped with 5-spoke 18-inch Modulo alloy wheels not seen in other markets.
In the Philippines, the 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine manages 120 PS and 300 Nm of torque.
The 158 kW (212 hp; 215 PS) CR-V Hybrid was unveiled at the 2017 Auto Shanghai in China in April 2017.
On 12 July 2017, Honda Malaysia launched the fifth generation CR-V with four trim levels. After two years, Honda Malaysia launched the CR-V Mugen Limited Edition.
The fifth generation CR-V was also launched in Japan on 30 August 2018 and went on sale on the following day, making it the return of the CR-V for the Japanese domestic market after a two-year hiatus since the fourth generation CR-V was discontinued there in August 2016. It was previously displayed on 27 October 2017 at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show, announced on 29 September 2017.
The European market CR-V was shown at Geneva Motor Show in March 2018 and went on sale in September, including a seven-seat variant. The CR-V hybrid, which was previewed at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, went on sale in early 2019 with a fuel economy comparable to diesel competitors. Honda expects sales to split equally between gasoline and hybrid in three years.

The mechanic informed me he has seen this in many hybrids. My nephew who is s lead mechanic for Kia informed me he has replaced a few in Kia hybrids. Further investigation revealed Honda recalling a half million hybrids in Japan for the same issue. No recall for Europe or America for this issue and Honda has no intention of covering this. If the manufacturer of this part is the same for many Japanese makers and this issue appears across the board, why hasn’t a recall or proper fix been established?

- Summary: The car's forward collision warning system is defective. The car will randomly bring up "BRAKE" on the dashboard with nothing even close to the car. This has started happening many times over the past few weeks, with even at least one instance of the car braking on its own. I brought this up to the dealership during my last oil change recently, and they inspected and looked into it. They said there was nothing wrong with the sensors/system and they documented it (specifically saying no problem found vehicle is operating normally at this time). However, a day or two after the dealership, the problem returned and it continues to persist. In addition to this, the blind spot warning system also randomly goes off when nothing is nearby, but not as often as the braking system, which is more dangerous in my opinion.

- Summary: 1 weeks ago the crv over heated once, shut the car off gave it 5min turned it back on and got it home no further issue, never over heated again Then on Monday the check engine light started flashing took to a shop they said it was due to spark plugs and ignition coils. The very next day flashed again, took back to shop they said it was my head gasket, took to a second shop and they confirmed that it was a head gasket but most likely needed the entire engine replaced at over $17,0000 The car is only 3 years old with 145k miles and already needs a new engine.

- Summary: My vehicle (2021 Honda CRV EX-L, 47,000 miles) is currently out of factory warranty. However, issue with the steering rack has caused issues with sound and sticky steering. This is a known issue with this specific model. Honda diagnosed an issue with my vehicle as being power steering rack being faulty. A manufacture defect they added. This was after replacing a axle they suspected turned out it was not the issue. They will not honor a full replacement of this faulty part. At the moment after going back and worth, they are agreeing to take care of half the repair amount which we feel is unacceptable knowing that this issue is a manufacture defect. We are aware of a current investigation with the NHTSA that's looking into this matter but we wanted to reach out and ask if Honda should be liable for the cost of the repairs regardless of the warranty expired. Auto Emergency breaks- sometimes auto application of breaks with no any objection. Noisy- It sounds like a spaceship and can be heard a block away. Electric battery- never fully charged even after driving 100 miles continuously. Mileage- never meets the manufacturer's claims, way lower than what is described on the website/paper.

The car is pretty and it's my first hybrid. There's a lot to commend it, such as its comfort, roominess, and decent performance. However, I have noticed that the mileage is not as good as Honda advertises. I typically get around 35 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway, even though I don't speed or accelerate hard. While the sport mode is not as responsive as I had hoped, the car still has a nice even acceleration. Unfortunately, the electric mode has been a bit of a letdown, as I only get around 5 miles instead of the 10-15 miles I had hoped for. Overall, I still prefer this car over my Mazda CX-5.

Additionally, I experienced a minor issue with the rear main seal at 13k, which was promptly resolved. I purchased this car with the expectation of being able to add a bike rack, which I made clear to the salesperson. However, upon returning to the dealership to install the hitch, I was informed that the hybrid model cannot have a hitch installed due to American Honda Motors' liability concerns. While it is available on the European model, I was advised to go to UHaul for installation, which may potentially void the warranty. As a result, I have decided to part ways with Honda. Although the car is comfortable and has a nice interior, it does not have the same level of versatility as other cars in its category. I am now looking to trade it in for a RAV or Forester that better suits my needs.
