The second generation line-up includes a gasoline engine option, an EcoBoost engine option, a next-generation hybrid model, and a plug-in hybrid version, the Ford Fusion Energi, making the Ford Fusion the first production sedan to offer these four options. Sales of the gasoline-powered and hybrid versions began in the U.S. in October 2012 under the 2013 model. Sales in Europe and Asia as Ford Mondeo began in 2015, along with South Africa, where the Fusion name was used. Deliveries of the Fusion Energi began in the U.S. in February 2013. The entire 2013 Fusion line-up was awarded with the 2013 Green Car of the Year at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show. In 2019, the Fusion was the seventh-best selling car in the United States.

Months later another misfire, said I needed to change the ignition coil, did that. Then I was out of town and it misfired again. My spark plug was changed and I was able to return home. This last time [XXX], it showed another cylinder and crankshaft. I took to dealership and was initially told that I needed a tune up and had swollen lug nuts. Advised I had a tune up at 37,000 miles and car only has approximately 48,000 miles. I then requested car be tested for coolant intrusion. The test was done and a cylinders scoped and was told Yes, that is the case. Now Ford wants me to pay $9,000+ for engine replacement. They state that my VIN is not included in the Customer Satisfaction Program. But this is a known fact to them and are not willing to absorb any of the cost. There is a program for the 1.5 but was told there is no program for 2.0 liter engine which I do not understand if it is the same engine defect. From my research this seems to be a known and common issue with EcoBoost Ford Fusions (I have a 2017 Ford Fusion 1.5L EcoBoost). This issue apparently can also cause fires and I'm lucky that it didn't happen to me. The Peacock Ford Service Center in Maitland, Florida confirmed to me that this is a known issue. The engine has been inspected by a Firestone as well as the Ford Service Center that i previously mentioned. The only symptom of the failure was the check engine light coming on but the only reason it came on was because the engine started misfiring.

- Summary: My car developed a miss in the engine that continued to get worse. It was inspected at the dealership, Key Scales Ford, in Leesburg, Florida. The check engine light was on and the car showed a code of PO303, misfire in #3 cylinder. It was determined that there was a crack in the block and coolant was entering #3 cylinder. The approximate costs to replace the engine were over $10,000 and the car had a trade-in value of approximately $9,000 so repair out of my pocket was not a smart option. Through research of my own I learned of NHTSA action which had led to a Ford Technical Service Bulletin TSB 21-2134. I contacted the Ford Customer Satisfaction Program and was told my VIN was not included under the TSB, even though it had the exact same problem. Ford refused to participate in any type of resolution despite this being a well-known problem with the 1.5-liter Ecoboost engines. This type of engine failure could lead to being stranded at any time so driving the car further was not a good idea. There was 55,912 miles on this car and the original brake pads outlived the engine. These engines are known to be defective and a problem.

Brought the car a week later to Dons Ford, they diagnosed a coil issue caused the engine light being on. Roughly a $700.00 repair. Few days later engine light came back on. Took it back to the dealer, they said they probably didn't reset the computer, so the computer thinks it still has a problem. They checked and rechecked my issue. This car has been a gem, 69,000 miles. Bought the car because I buy American made, my son worked in Detroit for Ford. Engine light came back on about 5 days later. Diagnoses, you need a new engine. $9,000. They say my car can catch on fire, but the dealer said I can drive it. There is more I could say but that's for a different agency.

- Summary: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2017 Lincoln MKZ and Ford Edge and Fusion vehicles. On vehicles with 2.0L gas engines and six-speed automatic transmissions, the torque converter weld studs may have been inadequately welded.
- Consequence: If the torque converter weld studs fail, the torque converter will not be connected to the engine flexplate and the vehicle will lose the ability to move, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Ford or Lincoln will notify owners, and dealers will replace the torque converters, free of charge. The recall began August 25, 2017. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 17S16.

- Summary: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2017 Ford Fusion vehicles manufactured September 27, 2016, to September 28, 2016. The left rear seat backs pivot pins may have been improperly welded.
- Consequence: During a crash, the improper welds may fail, allowing any stowed luggage to move into the passenger compartment, increasing the risk of injury.
- Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the left hand, second row seat back frame, free of charge. The recall began January 10, 2017. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 16S43.

What a fantastic job Ford did! I absolutely love my 2nd Fusion. My other one is a 2015 2.0 AWD with over 100k miles on it now, and it has only needed oil changes and new tires. I fell in love with the 15 2.0 and was really looking forward to the Sport. For now, I plan to keep both cars. Although, the Sport is way too nice to drive in the snow!

I've owned a few Audi A6 vehicles when I was a consultant, but since then I've owned several Fords in a row. I've stuck with Ford because their cars are built well and have outstanding reliability. I've only had to perform routine maintenance and the Ford Dealer prices and customer service have been very good. I recently traded in a 2015 Fusion Titanium AWD for a 2017 Platinum AWD and I have no complaints about either car. The Platinum interior looks and feels luxurious, like I'm driving an Audi. The side profile with the polished aluminum wheels looks sharp and the LED running lights, turn signals and headlights are impressive. The new twin scroll 2.0 ecoboost is even more refined than the previous one in my 2015 Titanium, and it is just a bit faster but it is noticeable. The sport mode is where you can really tell the difference. The sport mode on my 2015 was only a slight difference, but on this 2017 Platinum, you can really feel the difference as you accelerate. The car is buttoned down and rides and drives like I am in my previous Audis. One disappointment is the tires. It would be better to come with Michelin Primacy MXM4, like the Lincoln MKZ, and not Continental tires. The Michelin's ride even smoother without sacrificing handling. I could have purchased a low-end Lincoln MKZ cheaper than the Fusion Platinum AWD. However, it would not have all the safety equipment, the leather dash, the premium leather seats and doors, and AWD. I dislike the MKZ rear end anyway, so I would not consider it. This is my 4th Ford in a row and I'm very happy with it. I wish the mileage was a bit better but the 2-liter turbo is very refined and feels better than the V6 in my Taurus.

Hey there! Let me tell you about this amazing car. The 2.0 twin-turbo engine is unbelievably fast and can reach 60mph in no time. The seats are super comfortable with lumbar support and heating, and the leather is well-stitched. The console is also stellar with a great storage compartment for your CDs, Kindle, or wallet. Plus, there are plenty of USB and lighter ports to keep you connected. The cup holders even have spring-loaded cams to keep your drinks secure. The visor doubles as a garage door opener, which is pretty cool. The cockpit is designed for easy access to everything, and the remote keyless entry is a breeze. The only downside is that taller people may bump their heads getting in, but the seats are great and even move back and down when you turn off the engine. The gear selector takes a bit of getting used to, but it's easy once you get the hang of it. The wheels and tires give the car a sporty feel, but you may feel the bumps in the road a bit more. Overall, this car is definitely worth the price. Thanks for listening!The sound system in this Ford is typical, but it's great! The bass and treble are just right. The steering wheel is adjustable and it's so easy to steer, you can do it with just one finger if you had to! The power moon roof is a fantastic feature. The voice system is also great, with less need to raise your voice to get Siri's attention. Overall, this car is quiet, smooth, and stunning. The car is really nice and powerful, but I do regret not getting a hybrid as the gas mileage is not great at 20-21mpg. I'm glad I bought it though. It's a shame they're discontinuing this model.

I really like the exterior design and the fit and finish of this car. The quality of the interior materials is top-notch, making it a great choice for a family sedan. The car feels very safe and solid, and it's impressively quiet on the highway, even at 75 mph. However, I have had some trouble with the easy fuel capless system. It can be a bit of a hassle to use, as it keeps cutting off every 0.5 to 1.5 gallons, even when the tank isn't full. It's a bit like trying to feed a fussy baby! I'm considering taking it to the dealer to get it fixed, but I've seen online that some people have had trouble getting the issue resolved. Another thing that's been a bit of a challenge is the baby car seat latches. They're quite deep between the seat and the backrest, and with my leather seats, it can be tough to access them. Sometimes it takes me 10 to 15 minutes to remove the car seat, and it's nearly impossible for my wife to install or remove the Graco Snugride 30 car seat. I think it would be great if Ford could address these two issues, which seem like they would be relatively easy to fix. I've seen complaints about them online going back to 2010, so it seems like it's a common issue. Overall, though, I'm really happy with this car and would definitely recommend it to others.

When I picked up the car from the dealership for the first time, I got into it and it wouldn't start. At first, I thought it was just because it had been sitting for a while, but it turned out to be a recurring issue. Despite taking it to the shop multiple times, the problem persists and I have had to resort to using a portable jumper to start the car every time. It has been a frustrating and unsafe experience, as I have been stranded and even missed work because of it. However, I am hopeful that the dealership is finally acknowledging the issue and working to find a solution. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Despite having my brand new car for only 6 months, it has been in the shop over 10 times. Despite Ford's excuses for not buying the vehicle back, I am confident that they will provide me with a satisfactory solution. While they may not have any vehicles available, they have offered to reimburse me for any out-of-pocket expenses. Although Ford has only volunteered to pay one month's note, I am confident that they will fulfill their promise and resolve the issue with Ford Credit. While my experience has been frustrating, I still believe in the quality of Ford's products and would recommend them to others.

I purchased a 2017 Ford Fusion SE with a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine and only 25,000 miles on it. Unfortunately, the engine experienced a blown head gasket and valve, requiring a complete engine replacement. The icons on the dash and steering wheel are quite small, which can make it difficult to locate and operate certain features such as the cruise control, heater, air conditioner, and power windows. Additionally, the power window controls are not very intuitive, which can lead to confusion. During a recent drive-through experience, I found myself unable to lower the driver's window due to the controls becoming locked up. The key FOB icons are also quite small and can be difficult to read, which can lead to accidentally setting off the anti-theft siren. In comparison, I have never experienced these issues when renting Toyota Camry's, Hyundai's, and Kia's.

I purchased this car brand new from Ken Wilson Ford in Canton, NC, just outside Asheville. Unfortunately, I have had to take it back to the dealership three times due to issues with the window not rolling up properly. Additionally, I have experienced some vibration and a tire sensor malfunction. When I took it to the dealership, they discovered that there was a wheel bearing out, a tire pressure sensor malfunction, and even four warped wheels! The dealership asked if I had hit something, but after inspecting the car, they realized that there was no damage. Unfortunately, my wheel and tire coverage won't cover the issue, as they consider it cosmetic. I believe that Ford should take responsibility for selling me a defective vehicle and fix the issue. I was also disappointed to find out that the car did not have all the features that I was told it had. Furthermore, I did not receive all the necessary paperwork from the sale, which made it difficult to collect documentation for rebates. Despite these issues, I remain hopeful that the dealership will work with me to resolve these problems in a friendly and efficient manner.
