- Summary: ON THE DATE NOTED, I PARKED MY 1994 FORD CROWN VICTORIA IN MY DRIVEWAY SHUT IT OFF AND WENT INSIDE TO PERFORM SOME ERRANDS. WHILE INSIDE I HEARD A LARGE BOOM, FOLLOWED BY A CAR HORN SOUNDING INTERMITTENTLY. I RAN TO THE WINDOW EXPECTING TO SEE A VEHICLE CRASH BY MY HOUSE AND SAW FLAMES SHOOTING THROUGH THE HOOD ON THE DRIVERS SIDE NEAR THE POWER BOOSTER AREA ,WITH A LARGE HOLE WHERE THE HOOD USED TO BE. THE FLAMES WERE SHOOTING ABOUT 10-12 FEET INTO THE AIR AND IGNITED THE PITCH PINE AND LEAVES ADJACENT TO THE VEHICLE. I CALLED 911 TO REPORT THE FIRE, RAN OUTSIDE AND USED MY GARDEN HOSE TO CONTAIN THE FIRE UNTIL FIRE APPARATUS ARRIVED. THE DRIVERS SIDE UNDER HOOD AREA WAS ESPECIALLY GUTTED AS WELL AS THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT, DESTROYING VARIOUS PERSONAL ITEMS ALONG WITH THE VEHICLE AND SOME SMALL TREES BELONGING TO MY NEIGHBORS. THE LOCAL FIRE MARSHALL DID AN INVESTIGATION ALONG WITH TAKING NUMEROUS PHOTOS OF THE DAMAGE AND STATED IT WAS ACCIDENTAL IN NATURE AND STARTED, AS MY DESCRIPTION PREVIOUSLY STATES,IN THE DRIVERS SIDE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, AND GIVEN MY LACK OF INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR THIS TYPE OF INCIDENT, I HAD NO REASON TO WANT TO DESTROY MY ONLY MEANS OF EARNING A MY LIVELIHOOD. *TR

You'll be happy to know that this vehicle has been well-maintained with only minimal maintenance required, despite having over 102,000 miles on it. The only recurring issue has been with a wire attached to the starter that keeps breaking, but it's a quick fix and you'll be back on the road in no time. The check engine light has come on a few times due to a pollution sensor that needs replacing, but it's a minor issue overall.

Over the last 15 years, I have only owned Crown Vics. However, I have noticed that they don't handle well in bad weather. Every year, they claim to fix the issue, but it never seems to improve. Unfortunately, my son was in an accident last week due to the car fishtailing in the rain when he applied the brakes. Thankfully, he wasn't speeding.

This 1993 Ford Crown Vic is just the right size for me. It's so easy to handle and feels really sturdy on the road. Plus, it's super comfortable on long drives and has plenty of power. And when I'm cruising at 70 miles an hour, I can get an impressive 23 to 26 miles per gallon. It's a great car!

This is an excellent car overall. As the second owner, I have had nearly a decade of use with it and found it to be quite reliable. However, there are a few things to keep in mind. The 92-95 trannies may need an overhaul around 90-120k (not a rebuild), and valve seals are a weak point on pre-'97 models. Fortunately, fixing these issues should only cost about $800 (dealers may try to convince you that a rebuild is necessary when it's not). Additionally, the electric windows can be weak, and the brake/fuel lines may rust out on pre-'98 models (later models use plastic-coated lines).

This is the best car I have ever owned! With 113,000 miles on it, I have never experienced any breakdowns or needed to replace any major parts such as the water pump, exhaust system, alternator, A/C, fuel pump, shocks, etc. The original tires lasted an impressive 85,000 miles before needing to be replaced, and even then, there was no uneven wear or cupping. I have never needed a wheel alignment, and there have been no issues with body rust, even in Minnesota. The engine burns no oil between recommended oil changes, and the ride is always smooth, quiet, and effortless. This car is truly excellent for highway driving!

Hi there! I've owned this car for a little over 2 years now. When I bought it in North Carolina, it had 121,000 miles on it, but it was well maintained. Since then, I've moved to Ohio and I'm still loving this car! So far, I've only had to do routine maintenance, which is great. The only downside is that it's a bit heavy and can be pricey when it comes to gas. Overall, though, I'm really happy with my purchase!
