- Summary: The contact owns a 2018 BMW X4. The contact stated that when she would stop the vehicle for a traffic signal, the vehicle would independently shift into park (P). The contact stated that the failure had started as an intermittent failure but had gradually become a recurring failure. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had been the cause of a recent crash at a traffic signal. The contact's vehicle had slipped into park (P) when the signal light changed to green her vehicle did not move forward and the vehicle behind her crashed into the rear bumper. I and my husband drived this car from vancouver to edmonton on jun 1,2022. On jun 4,the engine sign and change oil sign all light up . on jun 6 we drived to the bmw edmonton to maintanance.on jun 7 they told me this car eccentric shaft faulty,the car mechanic show us the eccentric shaft already broken ,if i direct drived back to vancouver the engine maybe suddenly shut down or slower down on the highwat.and I must repair car in edmonton and pay total repair fee later back to vancouver to claim the warranty ,i called the bmw store vancouver rep he said ok.that time this car is 64500 km. when I back to the bmw store vancouver to claim this case.they answer me this case is my fault ,i was not done the maintenance for a while, so on july 20 2022 i sued thr bmw store. A trail will be held on oct 12,2022. today i do this complaint i just want to know the reason for eccentric shaft faulty ,what cause this engine problem,it possible make engine suddenly shut down or slower down ,very dangerous ,sometimes somebody will not immediately to change oil. actually i did regular maintance on 45000km,51800km,59000km. just give me a email back before the trail day oct 12,2022 ,thanks a lot.

(BMW) is recalling certain 2012-2015 X1 sDrive28i, X1 xDrive28i, 2012-2016 Z4 sDrive28i, 528i, 528i xDrive, 328i, 328xi, 2016-2018 X5 xdrive 40e, 2014-2016 228i, 228xi, 428i, 428i xDrive, 328xi Gran Turismo, 2013-2017 X3 sDrive28i, X3 xDrive28i, 2015-2018 X4 xDrive28i, 2015-2016 428xi vehicles. An improperly sealed electrical connector on the water pump may be exposed to water and short circuit.
- Consequence: An electrical short increases the risk of a fire.
- Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the water pump and plug connector as necessary, and install a protective shield, free of charge. A letter informing owners of the safety risk was mailed October 11, 2024. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 4, 2024. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417.

I have owned this CPO vehicle for 3 years, purchasing it as an off-lease vehicle. The dealership has been exceptional in remedying some items missed during the inspection. The body style is eye-catching and the perfect size for me. Although it took some time to get used to the BMW coming off an Audi sedan, I can confidently say that it handles great and has impressive acceleration when needed. The interior is spacious, especially with the folding rear seats, making it an ideal small SUV. However, I have two minor complaints: the driver's rearview mirror limits sight when turning left and the cost of the run-flat tires as I've had to replace 3. Despite this, I remain mystified as I don't drive off-road or in construction sites to catch debris or hit curbs.

Wonderful to look at and drive! Everything you expect in a BMW, with sporty and lithe handling. The technology is sophisticated but not overwhelming. While it does have less cargo capacity, if that's not the only thing on your list, this is definitely your choice!
