2023 Chevrolet Traverse problems
The Chevrolet Traverse is a full-size crossover SUV with three-row seating built by General Motors. It is built on the same platform as the GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave, known as the Lambda platform for the first generation, and the C1XX for the second generation. It also shares the C1XX platform with the Cadillac XT6. It is the successor to the TrailBlazer body-on-frame SUV and the Uplander minivan.
The second-generation model debuted in showrooms in the summer of 2017. Starting with the 2019 model year, the Traverse was slotted above the new mid-size Chevrolet Blazer as part of Chevrolet's plans to expand its SUV lineup.
The Traverse name was originally used for a concept car at the 2003 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, but that concept gave way when the Equinox launched for the 2005 model year.

POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-11-14
- Crash: 1
- VIN: 1GNERHKW0PJ
- Components: POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES
- Summary: I was trying to park on a little steep driveway. Somehow I got out of the car when it is D gear. In seconds I realized the car is moving forward and jumped right back in the car, hit the brakes and switch D to P. The car didn't stopped. I remember buckled up sign on display and I did. Then I pushed the start button tried to stop and start it again, the car didn't stopped. The car continued to move down from driveway to backyard down the slope hitting and badly damaging a tramboline and a chair on its way and only stopped after hitting a tree. Then the engine worked when I pushed start button.I was able to reverse back to driveway again. I was lucky the kids were at school and there was a tree stopping the car to fall the little creek at the end of property line. Did I forget the car in auto shut off or simply shut the engine while it is on D? I am not sure exactly when I was able to switch gear P, it was before or after the buckle up sign. I don't remember any other warnings like "switch D to P to Park" before I left the car.(Normally it says) This acccident happened the day after we took it to service for 10k milage maintenance , oil change ,tire rotation, 27. Inspection. I am suspecting a main system malfunction because, after it came back from the 10k maintenance service, it was giving a strange alarm sound at random times when driver door opens. Alarm was louder and faster then normal warnings like remote left in the car etc. and there wasn't any warning on the display, indicating what it was about. I am suspecting power terrain and brake failure too. I don't know if my car does have an auto brake to stop itself and avoid sliding down a slope when driver is out of the car. I don't know if my car has a sensor showing if the driver is seated or not. Overall I experienced a dangerous situation and my attempts to stop it was unsuccessful.

By the time I got home, the voltage had gone down to 10.3. I took the vehicle to the dealership on April 19, 2022 for repair. It was a bad alternator. On June 29, 2023, my family and I were on vacation and at a hotel in North Little Rock, Arkansas. I got up the next morning, 0330, and started the car and I got a message, " Battery Saver Mode Activated." I checked the voltage. It was at 11.3. I had to drive to the nearest truck stop so we would not be stranded on the side of a dark highway. The battery light came on and a message came up something like, "Charging system low. Vehicle could stall anytime." The battery light remained on. We made it to the truck stop, voltage was at 10.1, and I had to call a tow service to take my vehicle and my family to the nearest dealership in Stuttgart, Arkansas. It was another bad alternator and was repaired again and returned to me on August 4, 2023. Both instances, I was on busy highways with no gas stations for miles and not very good cell service. I live in Texas and the weather was hot and I had my son, my granddaughter, and 3 dogs with me. I couldn't get the windows down because the battery was dead. I contacted the manufacture. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request and has not been inspected by the manufacture as of yet.

We previously owned a 2018 Traverse and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, we had to part ways with it due to unforeseen circumstances. However, we always knew we wanted to get another one. Thankfully, we were able to make that happen and we couldn't be more grateful. After considering our options, we ultimately decided to go with the Traverse again and it was definitely the right choice. The modifications they made have greatly improved the vehicle, including the option to turn off the automatic shutoff which is a huge plus for us. As we use our vehicle for deliveries, this improvement has opened up even more opportunities for us. Additionally, the Traverse's spacious interior is perfect for when our grandchildren come to visit. Overall, we highly recommend the Traverse as an affordable and functional option for all your SUV needs.

I've been driving this car for about 5000 miles since I bought it in October 2022 and I must say, I have no complaints. It's a smooth and solid ride with plenty of room for my older teen/young adult kids and their friends. I was coming from a 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited that I loved for almost 9 years, but it was time to bequeath that to the kids and get something new. I wasn't even considering a Traverse, I was even thinking of going for a smaller SUV type or even a sedan now that my kids are older, but I have two big dogs and a daughter that plays travel sports and I needed the space. I ended up with this car after my husband bought a Silverado and I saw this on the dealer website. Once I realized it ticked every one of my boxes (AWD, leather interior, 3rd row that adults can comfortably sit in, lots of room, boxy body style) I went and bought it. I have no regrets (yet)!

Traverse is a really comfortable vehicle and it's great on gas mileage.
-
There's plenty of room and it's a pleasure to drive. I've owned both the 2019 True North and the 2023 Premier, and I found the electronics menu to be user-friendly.

When we were looking for a midsize SUV, we were unsure of what to choose. However, Josh from George Weber in Granite City was very attentive to our needs and preferences. He showed us the Traverse, which we immediately fell in love with! Although we are not familiar with all of its features, such as Apple Play, we are excited to learn more about them. We recently took a small trip up North and the SUV rode beautifully. My husband even commented on how well it drove! ❤️

Hello! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with my 2023 Traverse RS that I bought in April. Overall, I really like the vehicle - it has a nice ride and plenty of room inside. However, I did experience some trouble this past weekend. While backing out of a parking spot, the vehicle backfired. Later, when I had to accelerate to get on the highway, the motor bogged down repeatedly and the check engine light came on. I had to limp it home and then take it to the dealership. They checked it out this morning and told me that it blew the #2 cylinder, but they didn't give me any specifics on what caused it. It's frustrating, especially since the car only has 2277 miles on it. Nonetheless, I'm hopeful that the dealership will be able to fix it soon. Thank you for listening to my story!

The Chevy Traverse is not a vehicle that meets my expectations. I believe that it could benefit from some improvements to its design and quality. While it may not be the best fit for me, I understand that it may work well for others. I appreciate the effort that went into creating this vehicle and I hope that future models will continue to improve.

I recently purchased a Chevy Traverse RS 2023. However, I would not recommend this car as it has not been a comfortable ride for me. The car tends to bounce when changing gears, which has been a persistent issue even after two check-ups. The dealership has informed me that this is a common issue with the new 9 gear transmission. Additionally, the car is quite expensive. I would suggest considering other options before making a purchase.
