Since my son bought one for me it’s had problems with engine revving and not shifting gears, and air conditioner continually going out even after repairs, and power steering leaks. I kept taking it to repair and oddly no technician anywhere could help! Read the reviews and watch the youtubes! This vehicle (all years) should be stripped from the market and considered under lemon law no matter the age! The culmination of my problems happened when leaving town, entering highway and accelerating and clicking cruise control! Immediately the car revved past 7 rpms and out of control! I had all I could do to stop it - then it died completely! The tow truck driver was also in an unsafe situation with many cars passing at high speed when he had to put special lifts on the back wheels! Scary! Towed to local Chevy dealer and without giving us the computer codes and no actual written estimate for repairs, they bluntly said metal shavings in engine and possibly a bearing and $11,500. And it’s typical for transmission problems and steering so up to $18,500! Really?! And if no one could ever detect and fix it before, how can they now? All this with the added comment, we can’t guarantee once we get into it that it will run properly and not need more repairs! LEMON! This is a very unsafe vehicle with notorious problems all in the face of competing with looks of other competitor cars! I praise God I was alone when this happened and no other passengers. If you love your life, family, and others, definitely join me in this recall / removal from market effort. - Summary: Two items: Item 1. Transmission switched to neutral by itself traveling at 65 mph. At about 5-6 seconds after the incident, transmission resumed with no further problem. This has happened 3 times. First time was mid 2022. Second and third times happened in late 2022. Appeared to be an intermittent problem. Took to dealership. It happened to a mechanic who drove the vehicle. Dealership thought they fixed the problem. A dealership mechanic, while addressing item number 2 below in 3rd week of April 2023, experienced the motor going into neutral. They had replaced the ignition switch to possibly fix item #2, and were test driving the car, when during the test drives, the motor went into neutral by itself two separate test drives. Item 2. While driving at highway speeds on a freeway in mid February 2023, the engine stopped (speedometer and RPM gauges went to zero). The whole dashboard went black. Power steering was lost. Was lucky to be able to pull over to side of road and stop. Turning ignition key off and on did not restart the car. Took ignition key out, replaced the ignition key, and the car started right up and we were able to continue our journey. This has happened 3 times total so far since February 2023. It has happened at random times. The dealership has not seen any computer feedback to indicate what is wrong for item 1 or item 2 here. So now, there is a new ignition switch, and we are hoping item 2 will not happen on a freeway, or on a crowded road, or anywhere!. I feel fortunate we had a way to pull off to the side of the road. If I was in a middle lane, I don’t know what could have happened. It could have been a pileup accident.

I have replaced the battery 3x, had the alternator tested and vehicle tested 2x by chevy dealership and they cannot figure out what the issue is. There are MULTIPLE traverse owners with same issue except they have replaced their alternators and a few other things as well. This needs to be recalled, figured out as I cannot drive my car, even after a dealership attempts to fix the issue and has no idea what is wrong. - Summary: My check engine light started coming on and found out from mechanic there was an issue with the stretching of the timing chain (P0008) . Car started making clanging noises and now needing a $3000 repair . After researching the problem, I have found out that there was an ongoing problem with belts and had recalls for 2009 , which was covered. Gm knowing there was a faulty design tried to reprogram the oil life monitor as a corrective action for the population of vehicles meaning THEY recognized the sensitivity of system. It wasn’t effective enough because now people are having issues at higher mileage and outside their warranty. GM knew this would happen and are now pushing the cost onto their loyal customers. GM needs to show loyalty to their customers and own up to the poor design. My traverse is now drivable and with all the financial difficulties of the pandemic , I can’t afford the repair.

In the affected vehicles, the flexible steel cable that connects the seatbelt to the front outboard seating positions may fatigue and separate over time.
- Consequence: If the steel cable becomes fatigued and separates, the seatbelt may not properly restrain the seat occupant increasing the risk of an injury in a crash.
- Remedy: General Motors will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and, if necessary, repair and replace the lap pretensioner, free of charge. Parts are not currently available. An interim notice will be mailed to owners in July 2014. A second notice will be mailed to owners once parts become available. The recall for the 2009-2010 model years began on July 11, 2014. The interim letter for the 2011-2014 model years were distributed on July 11, 2014. Owners may contact General Motors at 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet), 1-800-521-7300 (Buick), 1-800-462-8782 (GMC), 1-800-553-6000 (Saturn). General Motors recall number for this campaign is 14187.

- Summary: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2008-2013 Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia and 2009-2013 Chevrolet Traverse and 2008-2010 Saturn Outlook vehicles. In the affected vehicles, increased resistance in the driver and passenger seat mounted side impact air bag (SIAB) wiring harnesses may result in the SIAB and seat belt pretensioners not deploying in the event of a crash.
- Consequence: Failure of the side impact air bags and seat belt pretensioners to deploy in a crash increase the risk of injury to the driver and front seat occupant.
- Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the affected harness connections with soldered connections, free of charge. The recall began on June 16, 2014. Buick owners may contact the owner center at 1-800-521-7300, Chevrolet owners at 1-866-694-6546, Saturn at 1-800-553-6000, and GMC owners at 1-866-996-9463. GM's number for this recall is 14030. Note: Vehicles repaired as part of Customer Satisfaction Campaign 10085 and special coverage 10335 have already had the subject condition repaired and therefore are not included in the safety recall.

- Remedy: DEALERS WILL MODIFY THE SECOND ROW SEAT SIDE TRIM SHIELDS. IF A SAFETY BELT BUCKLE IS DAMAGED, DEALERS WILL REPLACE IT FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON AUGUST 18, 2010. The LTZ is replacing our 2002 Avalanche North Face. We are thrilled with our choice and it has exceeded our expectations. We ordered the sunroof and 2nd row center console, as well as the tow package. Although we did not opt for any electronics such as DVD or navigation, we are still very satisfied with the vehicle. With a great fuel economy of 23.8 on the highway and 19.8 combined, it is perfect for our mostly rural driving. Our dog also loves the car and there is plenty of room for everyone, including our grandkids.

I'm so glad to hear that you traded in your 07 Tahoe for a LT1 Traverse! The white with black interior looks amazing and very sleek on the road. It's great to hear that it runs very quietly and is easier to park than the Tahoe. Also, the bench seat in the middle is a great choice to accommodate your grandchild. I hope you continue to enjoy your new car!

I'm so glad you're considering the Chevy! As a faithful fan of Toyota and Acadia, I can confidently say that this vehicle beats them all. The Chevy team really hit the nail on the head with this one. I'm currently driving the LTZ with all the bells and whistles, and while the size and mileage are just okay, the comfort factor more than makes up for it. It's the perfect combination of a minivan, SUV, and car, with excellent storage and plenty of room. My family of four loves it, and we always purchase vehicles with the intention of driving them until the end. I have no doubt that this one will be a great ride until then!

Came off the lease of a 06 Cadillac DTS in November. The smooth ride in the LTZ is superior to that of the Cadillac and of the 2002 Lincoln Town Car I had previously even with the 20 inch tires (Bridgestone Dueler) I have now. The amount of room for the driver is outstanding in the Traverse and is of particular importance to me. The power of the jets on the Windshield washer is the best I have ever seen. Mileage is only at 16 mpg and is a little disappointing but I have been using the remote start. Brakes tend to squeak first thing in the morning. Voice recognition system does not work for hands free dialing. It can not distinguish between different numbers. Overall I am very pleased

I really like the performance of this car, but unfortunately, it doesn't bring me much happiness after purchasing it. Now, I am reconsidering whether Asian cars are the best option for fuel economy. Despite not being too crazy about driving, I only get 200 miles on a full tank of ultra gas in both city and highway driving. However, I must say that I am very comfortable with this vehicle, except for the mileage.

It seems that the fuel mileage is not as good as advertised and there is an issue with the AC that the dealer has been unable to fix. The AC stops cooling when the car is idle at a red light or stop sign, but starts cooling again when the car is back on the highway. The dealer has suggested that this is how the car was designed, but I have my doubts.

Hi there! I wanted to share my experience with my vehicle. I've driven it for 2200 miles and recently had an issue while driving on the highway. The transmission stalled and didn't shift into a higher gear, which was a bit concerning as it could have caused an accident. Additionally, the engine light came on. I took the truck directly to the dealer, but unfortunately, they couldn't explain why it happened. This car has experienced several issues, including a blown motor which is currently being repaired. Despite previous repairs to the AC/Heater and alignment, the check engine light has persisted. Overall, this has been a disappointing purchase.

The Odyssey was unfortunately totaled in an accident, but we rented a Traverse for our trip to Reno from KC. The Traverse proved to be spacious and accommodating for our party of four, with plenty of room for our gear. Despite its smooth and relatively quiet performance on the open road, we found the seats to be uncomfortable, with the rear seats lacking recline and the headrests pushing our heads forward. Additionally, the mileage fell far short of GM's advertised figures. It's a shame, as we had been considering the Traverse as a replacement for our van. However, after a 4100 mile trip on open roads averaging 19.6 mpg, we have decided to look elsewhere. For those seeking a family trip vehicle, there are better options available.
