Chevrolet Traverse problems

The Chevrolet Traverse is a full-size crossover SUV with three-row seating built by General Motors. It is built on the same platform as the GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave, known as the Lambda platform for the first generation, and the C1XX for the second generation. It also shares the C1XX platform with the Cadillac XT6. It is the successor to the TrailBlazer body-on-frame SUV and the Uplander minivan.
The second-generation model debuted in showrooms in the summer of 2017. Starting with the 2019 model year, the Traverse was slotted above the new mid-size Chevrolet Blazer as part of Chevrolet's plans to expand its SUV lineup.
The Traverse name was originally used for a concept car at the 2003 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, but that concept gave way when the Equinox launched for the 2005 model year.

In summary, the Chevrolet Traverse has faced several issues over the years, including transmission failure, engine problems, steering issues, and airbag problems. I've been researching Traverses for about a year and it's been everything I expected.

Traverse is spacious inside and not too big like other SUVs. It's very convenient to drive. I've leased a 2018 and now a 2021, and I've found it to be a great experience.

If you're looking for a spacious and powerful vehicle, the Traverse is definitely worth considering. It comfortably fits six adults and still has room for groceries behind the third row, which is not something you can easily find in a Highlander, Explorer, or Pilot. The engine and transmission pairing is impressive, with smooth shifting and plenty of power. Compared to the Explorer, the Traverse is a clear winner for me, especially considering the potential maintenance issues with the Explorer's turbo engine and 10-speed transmission. While the interior quality could be improved, this is a common issue with GM products, even their high-end Cadillacs. Overall, the Traverse is a great option to consider.

I purchased my 2018 Traverse LT3 Model in October 2017, after trading in my Ford Explorer. It's a beautiful looking vehicle, but I've been experiencing a few issues that I'm trying to work out. Three days after purchasing it, the second row driver's side rear seat developed a vibration noise that was driving me nuts. The dealer removed the seat, found nothing wrong, reinstalled it, and that particular vibration stopped. However, another vibration has developed, which is becoming louder and very distracting. I can't figure out where it's coming from. I've also been having an issue with loss of acceleration, which is quite frightening because both times it happened, I was entering intersections and lost power. Although this vehicle shuts off most times when stopped for fuel saving purposes, the most recent episode caused me to lose acceleration while the engine was running and trying to accelerate. Each time I hit the gas (five times), I lost acceleration, and the car only inched forward. I was able to roll to the side of the intersection, allowing traffic to pass. It stalled, but I put the transmission in park, was able to start it, and accelerate. I will be contacting the dealer right away to resolve this very important issue. Moving on to climate control, it's nice and toasty from the dash and defrost, but it doesn't warm my feet very well when the mode is selected. The recirculate feature doesn't seem to work, and the climate control still takes in outside fumes from trucks, etc., even when selected. The navigation feature has only recognized one request from me for a street address properly, and I speak very clearly. This is frustrating, and I am forced to use Google maps on my cell phone, which transmits through the car speakers. Overall, the cargo area is unbeatable, and the deep well under the cargo area allows for even more storage. The third row is also nice.If I can work out the bugs, I'll be a happy camper. My Explorer had every option in it, except for cooking my dinner for me, so I do miss some of the goodies.

I initially loved this car, but unfortunately, I am planning on trading it in this weekend. Despite owning it for only a year, it has been in the shop three times, totaling about eight days. One day, the car started shifting in a strange way, and the engine light would come on and flash. Two days later, it began making strange sounds and misfiring frequently. I brought it into Chevy, and they found automatic transmission fluid in the engine, which ended up requiring the replacement of a cylinder coil. It was concerning to find ATF in the engine, and after that, I noticed ATF all over my garage floor. I brought it back in, and they found a leak from the torque converter, which took five days to fix. The transmission was always jumpy and not smooth while shifting, but since all the leak problems, it's worse. I haven't noticed any more leaks on the garage floor, but we'll see how long that lasts. By the way, it only has 8,500 miles on it. It's beautiful inside and out, but unfortunately, the transmission is not up to par.

I've had the car for 2 years and initially loved it as it ran great. Unfortunately, when I reached 57,000 miles, the engine failed and now I need a new one. I took it to Chevy to have it fixed, but they wouldn't cover it under warranty as it had expired just 3 days prior. The incident happened while I was in the drive-thru buying food, and it was a scary experience with my kids in the car. The repair cost is estimated at $5,000, which is highly upsetting. Prior to this car, I had a Jeep Cherokee that lasted 9 years without any major issues.

I recently purchased this car because I was expecting my third child and needed a car with enough room for all three car seats. The interior of the car met my expectations. Unfortunately, I experienced some issues with the transmission and my car had to be towed from my house twice in the past 5 months. While I understand that all car brands can have lemons, I was disappointed that Chevy did not take any action to address the issue. My family and I have always been loyal Chevy customers, but this experience has left us feeling let down.

If you are looking for a reliable SUV, I would recommend considering other options. Unfortunately, I have had some issues with my Traverse, including transmission problems that have required costly repairs. While the initial repair was covered under a recall by GM, I have since had to pay a significant amount for further repairs. I have been disappointed with the quality of the product and the lack of support from both GM and the dealership. In the future, I will be exploring other car brands.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to share my experience with my Traverse. I bought it used at 99,000 miles and it had been well maintained. While I did encounter some issues with the power window and mirror switches, A/C refrigerant, odometer display, and driver's door speaker, I was able to address them as they came up. Unfortunately, at 170,000 miles, I encountered the P0008 code which usually means the timing chains are worn. I've heard that this is a common issue with Traverses, but I was still disappointed. Overall, I had a good run with my Traverse, but the electrical problems were getting frustrating and the timing chains were beyond economical repair. It's too bad, but I'm still a fan of GM. Interestingly, my other car is a 41-year-old MG with the notorious Lucas electrical system and it has had fewer problems in the 15 years I've owned it than my 8-year-old Chevy had in only 4 years. Thanks for listening!
