The Chevrolet Traverse is a full-size crossover SUV with three-row seating built by General Motors. It is built on the same platform as the GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave, known as the Lambda platform for the first generation, and the C1XX for the second generation. I’d like to know there were any other recalls that were “fixed” I’m not the first owner of this vehicle. I want to know what else I can do before going and buying a part. Just bought a 3LT two weeks ago and continue to be very impressed! I test drove a Cadillac AT5, a Honda Pilot, and a Ford Explorer, but there was no contest. This rig has an excellent engine and the 9-speed transmission is outstanding. Living in Montana, the Traverse takes on our winter conditions without any problems. My wife loves the very comfortable interior and leather bucket seats. I highly recommend this vehicle for its ride, appointments, and cargo space!

I purchased this car in 2011 as a 2009 model. Despite the higher mileage for the year, it has been a terrific car that has met all of my driving needs. Since 2011, I have only had to make one minor repair, which was to fix the actuator that controls the hot and cold air. I have not had to jump it, tow it, or fix it in any way. I am absolutely thrilled with this car and wouldn't think twice about buying another one when the time comes.

This is a sweet ride. Not a misspelling, the interior is larger than some motels. I moved out of a Toyota and I am amazed at the quality of this vehicle. It has a solid ride, excellent handling, is fun to drive, and easy to maneuver. My job puts me in dozens of rental cars in a year, and after driving a Traverse, I immediately started looking to buy. It is the nicest overall vehicle I have been exposed to in the last 5 years. GM really got this one right!

The Traverse LTZ is a wonderful and comfortable vehicle. We purchased it to transport an elderly parent who has mobility issues and it has been perfect for this purpose. However, we have experienced some issues with the transmission since we bought it (used). We will need to replace the transmission at some point, which can be costly ($3500 - $4000). Despite this, we still love everything else about the vehicle. We paid a reasonable price for it, so we don't feel like we were taken advantage of. Just keep in mind that this expense may be a part of the total package when making your decision.

The vehicle has many great features, but as a concerned driver, safety and reliability are my top priorities. I was surprised to find out that my new Traverse, which is not a cheap vehicle, does not come with a spare tire or even a place to attach one. While OnStar can provide assistance in case of a flat tire, it is not helpful if there is no tire to replace. This leaves the occupants of the 7-passenger vehicle stranded, especially in rural areas where taxis are not readily available. It is disappointing that GM would produce a vehicle without basic safety items such as a spare tire, especially considering the price. Families and moms should be aware of the potential danger of being stranded without a spare tire.

I really wish this SUV was offered in FWD. I wasn't interested in having multiple moon roofs and I don't like that the engine's start stop feature can't be disabled. However, I must say that it is a very attractive SUV. While the dealer didn't offer the new GM 6 year extended warranty and instead pushed a more expensive option, the dealership was otherwise very pleasant to work with. Unfortunately, I experienced a total transmission failure at only 16000 miles and the vehicle locked up in traffic. It took almost a month to repair and I have had a few more service issues since then. The latest issue I'm facing is that when I shut the vehicle off, it keeps telling me to shift into park, which I have already done. This happens repeatedly (about 90% of the time) and the alarm goes off and won't stop.

Although there have been some issues with the car, such as the engine replacement at 145k, ac condenser and starter malfunction, water pump failure, and sifting problem along with a throttle body/MAF sensor malfunction, it is important to note that the mechanic suggested taking it to the dealership to reprogram the ECU. While it may require some additional attention, it is still a valuable investment. It is recommended to have a professional mechanic inspect the car before making a purchase decision.
