1995 Buick Park avenue problems
The Buick Park Avenue is a full-size car built by Buick. The nameplate was first used in 1975 for an appearance option package on the Electra 225 Limited. It became an Electra trim level in 1978 and its own model starting in the 1991 model year after the Electra was discontinued.
There were two generations of the Park Avenue that were manufactured in the United States until 2005. In 2007, the nameplate was revived on a large Buick sedan built by Shanghai GM for the Chinese market based on the Holden Caprice from the WM/WN range. The nameplate is derived from the affluent New York City boulevard, Park Avenue.
Electra Park Avenue (1975–1990)
1975-1976
Park Avenue first appeared as an appearance package on the 1975 Buick Electra Limited. It included similar seats to the Cadillac Sixty Special, optional full center console, Buick 455ci V8, posi-traction, 15-inch rallye sport wheels, rear automatic leveling, optional leather, optional Air Cushion Restraint System, remote mirror with thermometer, and automatic climate control. The 1976 cars were largely the same except for some styling revisions and added emissions systems.
1977-1984
Park Avenue, previously an appearance option package, became an official trim level on the Electra in 1978. Cosmetically, a different grille and redesigned tail lights were the only notable cosmetic changes that year but 1979 brought a redesigned, flat front end and a subtly different taillight treatment featuring a Buick crest and bisecting horizontal silver line. A more extensive redesign occurred for the 1980 model year.
1985-1990
Park Avenue remained the top trim on the Buick Electra, it was redesigned along with the rest of the Electra line, moving to the heavily downsized front wheel drive GM C-Body. It featured a Buick 3800 V6. The coupe version was discontinued in 1987. For 1989, Buick introduced the Park Avenue Ultra trim level. The Ultra was an upgrade to the Electra Park Avenue trim and featured a standard leather interior with dual 20-way power front seats designed and manufactured by Lear Siegler and styled by Giorgetto Giugiaro of Italdesign; lower-body accent exterior paint treatment; distinctive thick-padded french-seamed vinyl top with limousine-style rear-window surround (available only on Ultra); simulated burled elm trim on the doors and instrument panel; unique aluminum wheels; anti-lock brakes; chromed B-pillar moldings; specific grille and tail lamps; leather-wrapped steering wheel; electronic instrumentation; padded glove-compartment door and unique interior door panel trim. The Park Avenue Ultra carried a higher base price than Cadillac's Sedan de Ville. The Park Avenue Ultra did not gain much popular recognition, however, until the following generation of Park Avenue where the "Ultra" badge offered even more features.

Common 1995 Buick Park avenue problems
The 1995 Buick Park Avenue is known for several common problems that car owners have reported. One of the most prevalent issues is the leaking of the rubber transmission cooler lines, which can lead to a significant loss of fluid. This issue is often overlooked, but it can cause severe damage to the transmission if not addressed promptly.
Another common problem with the 1995 Buick Park Avenue is the engine stalling while driving. This issue can be caused by various factors, including a loss of spark or fuel injector pulse. To diagnose this problem, it is essential to determine what is missing when the car stalls. If the engine is losing spark, it could be due to a faulty ignition coil or ignition control module. On the other hand, if the fuel injector pulse is missing, it could be due to a faulty fuel pump or relay.
The 1995 Buick Park Avenue is also known for starting problems, which are often caused by a faulty fuel pump. The fuel pump is responsible for delivering fuel to the engine, and if it fails, the car may not start. In some cases, the fuel pump may have a check valve that prevents fuel from flowing back into the tank from the pump. If this valve fails, it can cause starting problems.
The supercharger is another component that can cause problems in the 1995 Buick Park Avenue Ultra. The supercharger is responsible for compressing air and delivering it to the engine, which increases the engine's power output. If the supercharger fails, the engine may run choppy, and the supercharger may not kick in. Unfortunately, the parts to fix this issue are no longer sold, which can make repairing the car challenging.
The 1995 Buick Park Avenue is also known for engine problems, which are the most common complaints about this car. These problems include stalling after warming up, the engine shutting off while driving, coolant leaking into oil, and the engine running roughly. Electrical problems are also common, including issues with the tail, dash, and parking lights.
In conclusion, the 1995 Buick Park Avenue is known for several common problems that car owners have reported. These issues include leaking rubber transmission cooler lines, engine stalling, starting problems, supercharger failure, and various engine and electrical problems. If you own a 1995 Buick Park Avenue, it is essential to address these issues promptly to avoid more severe damage to the car.

SUSPENSION,STRUCTURE,ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC) PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2012-02-29
- VIN: 1G4CU5210SH
- Components: SUSPENSION,STRUCTURE,ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC)
- Summary: WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN FEBRUARY OF 2012. THE BODY, INTERIOR, ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS, ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION ARE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. THE CAR WAS SOLD IN GREAT CONDITION AND I WAS TOLD OF NO MAJOR MECHANICAL ISSUES. I PERFORMED A CARFAX ON THE CAR AND FOUND THAT THE MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE WAS FOLLOWED AND FOR THE FIRST 80,000-90,000 PLUS MILES WAS ONLY DRIVEN BETWEEN 5000-6000 MILES PER YEAR FOR THE FIRST 14 YEARS OF OWNERSHIP. AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE AND TEST DRIVING I BEGAN TO NOTICE A NOISE AND DECIDED TO PERFORM A BREAK JOB AND INSPECT THE SUSPENSION WHEN I FOUND THE SUBFRAME CROSSMEMBER RUSTED/ROTTED OUT ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE. THIS PART SUPPORTS THE ENGINE AND OTHER VITAL PARTS IN THE SUSPENSION. INSPECTION OF THE REAR SHOWED ONLY MINOR RUST. AFTER HAVING THE CAR INSPECTED BY A SECOND PARTY I WAS WARNED THAT TO DRIVE THE CAR WITH THIS ROT COULD LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT AND WOULD BE DANGEROUS UNTIL REPAIRED. THE BREAK THROUGH OF THE RUSTED/ROTTED AREA COULD EASILY BE CAUSED BY HITTING REPEATED BUMPS, LARGE POTHOLES, OR BY DRIVING OVER RAILROAD TRACKS. I WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE RUST/ROT OF THE SUB MEMBER CROSSFRAME WAS ABNORMAL AND PROBABLY CAUSED BY DEFECT IN THE MATERIAL/FRAME, SEEING THAT THE RUST/ROT WAS MOST SEVERE IN THIS ISOLATED AREA WITH ONLY MINOR RUST ELSEWHERE. CARFAX REPORTS LIST THIS CAR IN VERY GOOD CONDITION WITH NO REPORTING BY THE BUICK DEALER OR THERE MECHANICS THAT PERFORMED A MAJORITY OF THE MAINTENANCE ON THIS VEHICLE AS HAVING A PROBLEM WITH ROT IN THE SUBFRAME CROSSMEMBER THOUGH THE PROBLEM IS PRESENT AND SEVERE. IF IT WAS NOT FOR THE NEED OF A BRAKE JOB THIS DEFECT IN QUALITY OF WORKMANSHIP/MATERIALS WAS LIKELY TO LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT AT SOME POINT AND CAUSE INJURY OR POSSIBLY DEATH. *TR

STEERING,STRUCTURE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2004-08-04
- Components: STEERING,STRUCTURE
- Summary: AUG4,2004: :15AM ON MY WAY TO WORK FOR AN EARLY START I WAS 2 MINUTES INTO MY DRIVE. I NOTICED A SLIGHT LOSS OF ASSIST FROM THE POWER STEERING. THE SYMTOMS WERE TYPICAL OF A SLIPPING BELT OR LOW POWER STEERING FLUID. FROM THE STOP AT THE CORNER OF HILLSIDE AND HWY60 I PROCEEDED TO TURN RIGHT, BUT AS I STRAIGHTENED THE WHEEL ENTERING THE RIGHT LANE THE STEERING WENT TIGHT WITH A CLUNK AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS FREEWHEELING. BEFORE I COULD STOP I FOUND MYSELF IN THE LEFT LANE STARING DOWN A SEMI COMING DOWN THE HILL. FORTUNATELY HE WAS ALERT AND HAD ENOUGH ROOM TO STOP. I TALKED TO THE DRIVER AND SUGGESTED BACKING MY CAR UP TO THE SHOULDER ON THE RIGHT SIDE (NORTH) OF THE ROAD. THE ANGLE OF THE TIRES IF THEY HELD CURRENT POSITION WOULD PLACE ME ON THE SHOULDER JUST EAST OF HILLSIDE. THE SEMI BLOCKED ALL TRAFFIC FROM THE WEST AND WHEN THE EAST TRAFFIC CLEARED I PROCEEDED. I WENT ABOUT TEN FEET AND THEN THE TIRES TURNED AND I WAS SITTING 90DEGREE TO THE ROAD BLOCKING THE LEFT LANE. AT THIS POINT ALL I COULD DO WAS DIRECT TRAFFIC AROUND MY CAR. WITH THE HELP OF TWO GOOD GENTLEMEN WE DIRECTED TRAFFIC UNTIL A TOW TRUCK ARRIVED. IN THE PAST I HAVE HAD VEHICLES WITH WORN PARTS. TIE ROD ENDS, UPPER AND LOWER BALL JOINTS, OR IDLER ARM. FAILURE IS INCREMENTAL OVER DAYS OR WEEKS. SYMPTOMS OF SHUTTERING OR PULLING INDICATE THE CAR NEEDS SERVICING SOON. NEVER HAS ANY COMPONENT JUST FAILED WITH A LOSS STEERING. THIS TIME WAS DIFFERENT; THE FAILURE WAS CATASTROPHIC. AN INSTANT LOSS OF STEERING AS THE WHOLE CRADLE DROPPED. FURTHERMORE THIS PROBLEM IS NOT NEW OR UNHEARD OF. I've never owned a Buick before, but I found this one at a reasonable price and I needed cheap transportation. I've been pleasantly surprised at how dependable it has been, despite having to replace the battery and two sensors. Overall, it's been a great car! Although, there is a slight exhaust odor in the cabin and it smokes a little after sitting for a couple of days. Also, the hood rattles a bit on rough roads.

This vehicle has had very few problems and remains in good condition after all these years.

I'm so glad to hear that your family has had such a positive experience with your supercharged Park Avenue! It's amazing that all three of your kids learned to drive in it and that it's still running strong in 2022. It's clear that General Motors really hit the mark with the 90s Buick Park Avenue - it's big, comfortable, sporty, agile, fast, safe, and has great fuel mileage. Thank you for sharing your story and your appreciation for this wonderful car!

84,000 miles of pleasurable cruising. It's a head turner inside and out. Virtually maintenance free. It has every extra anyone would want.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to share my experience with my Park Avenue and LeSabre. I've had my car for 11 years now and it still runs great! Even better, I get 25mpg around town and nearly 30 on the interstate. I'm really impressed with how reliable it has been. The only non-routine repairs I've had to do were for things like tires and exhaust. The only other issue I had was when we lost the bolt on the swaybar, but that was an easy fix. I really think that if Detroit made all their cars like the old Park Avenues and LeSabers, they would be giving Honda and Toyota a run for their money. Thanks for listening!

I received this car from my mom after graduation, but unfortunately, I've had a lot of issues with it. It seems to constantly have mechanical errors and goes through brake pads and rotors quickly. On top of that, the gas mileage is not great. I've been keeping up with regular maintenance, including filter replacements and oil changes, but it still seems to have problems.

This car has great build quality. I've already driven 105k miles and haven't had many major issues with it, just the usual wear and tear that comes with age and mileage. I'm looking forward to driving it for another 100k miles!
