The Buick Enclave is a three-row full-size crossover SUV produced by General Motors since 2007. It was previewed at the 2006 North American International Auto Show, officially as a concept car, making it the first Lambda vehicle to be displayed. The Enclave is partially based on the Buick Centieme concept shown at the 2003 Detroit Auto Show.
The first-generation Enclave, the Saturn Outlook, the original GMC Acadia, and the first-generation Chevrolet Traverse all shared the GM Lambda platform.
The Enclave replaced both of Buick's SUVs, the minivan-based Rendezvous and the truck-based Rainier, as well as the Terraza minivan. The second-generation Enclave was officially revealed at the 2017 New York International Auto Show.

Not covered by warranty or insurance. A new car with 55, 000 miles to date should not have these issues.

- Summary: For the past month, I had been unable to start the vehicle unless I would turn the key without fully starting the vehicle and having to shift to each gear until I would be able to start it. It would start in any gear, but mostly in neutral. Now, on September 25, 2024, I stopped at a shopping center and I was unable to turn the vehicle on at all and it is now stuck in that parking lot. I had not been able to report it because Hurricane Helene hit (September 26, 2024) and we just got power, but phone lines and internet are not stable and cut off in the middle of calls and we have issues uploading documents. I called GM about the issue yesterday and they said because my VIN is not on the recall list that I have to pay for my car to be towed ($89 hook up fee plus $8 per mile) and I have to pay for any repairs. The airbag needs to be replaced as well because it has not been replaced due to the dealership saying they had not received the part and the appointment would be cancelled, so I quit making an appointment to have the driver's side air bag replaced.

I was originally planning to purchase a Toyota Highlander Hybrid Platinum, but unfortunately, I experienced some difficulties with the salesmen and my order was sold to someone else after waiting for 7 months. After receiving my deposits back, I decided to go car shopping again. My main priorities were finding a comfortable and reliable commuter car. I test drove several options and narrowed it down to three: the Traverse, the Enclave, and the Tahoe. Ultimately, I chose the Enclave because of its spacious interior, which was much larger than I expected. The ride is incredibly smooth and quiet, making it a pleasure to drive. I was also pleasantly surprised by the gas mileage, which was around 33 mpg during my trip from Florida to Arkansas and then to Pennsylvania. I am extremely happy with my purchase and love my new car!

Hello! It's already April 2023 and I've been driving my 2021 Buick Enclave Essence for two years now without any issues that required servicing. I'm really enjoying the car and I would definitely purchase it again. When I traded in my 2013 Buick Enclave Leather for the 2021 model, I was completely smitten. The car is so plush and it rides like a dream. I looked at and test drove many competitors' cars, but I found the Enclave to be much roomier and more comfortable than the others. I've only had the car for a week, but the gas mileage seems to be comparable to my 2013 model. The salesman told me that the highway mileage will be even better. UPDATE 9/23/21: The only thing I didn't like about my Enclave was the lack of a bypass switch around stop/start. However, after much research, I discovered two methods to turn stop/start off. One is to control the A/C with the passenger side control and turn the driver side control off. This way, the car won't stop running and restart every time it comes to a stop. Another option is to use the paddles to shift gears manually. When starting a drive, shift the gear into gear 9 with the paddles. The car will then use those 9 gears to automatically shift gears and Stop/Start will not activate until the engine is turned off. Then, just repeat the process when the car is restarted. UPDATE: 4/2/22: I'm still enjoying my Enclave. I recently took my car on a trip and got 26.5 miles per gallon on the highway and 23.1 combined mileage with its powerful 6-cylinder engine.

I am extremely satisfied with my Enclave. The AWD and traction control have been exceptional. Although there have been several recalls, the dealerships have been prompt and efficient in addressing them. Overall, I have complete confidence in the quality of this vehicle.

We bought a 2018 Buick Enclave this spring to replace our 2015 Chevy Silverado. Although we loved the truck, my husband's back problems made it difficult for him to climb up and down. We are enjoying the smooth ride of the Buick and have found it to be a powerful vehicle despite having only a 6 cylinder engine. The third row seat is great for extra storage when we need it, and we appreciate the convenience of the button unlock feature as long as we have the key on us. The auto hatch is also a nice touch. However, we did notice a problem with the air conditioning. When we are stopped and the air shifts on, the vehicle surges and tries to take off. We have to keep our foot firmly on the brake to prevent this from happening. We asked the dealer about it and were told that it's just the way the vehicle is set up. Although we understand that it cuts off to save fuel, we still feel that it's a safety concern. Additionally, we wish there were more places to put our drinks and that the dash would lock. Overall, we are happy with our purchase, but we would have reconsidered if we had experienced the surge problem during the test drive.

I purchased a 2020 Buick Enclave Avenir from the dealership last year. Unfortunately, the transmission failed this September, despite the car having only a little over 13000 miles. Although it has been over 30 days since I brought it in for repair, I have not received any updates from the dealership or GM regarding the status of the repair. While I initially fell in love with the car's appearance and performance, I am now eager to have it fixed so that I can trade it. It is clear that the car has reliability issues that need to be addressed.

At 25,000 miles, I have noticed that there are four areas where the paint is missing (two identical areas on each side of the vehicle). Despite the fact that we use the car in a normal manner, we were informed that the warranty would not cover this repair. It is worth noting that we have lived on a dirt road for many years and have previously owned two GMC Acadias that did not have any paint issues even at 90,000 miles. Additionally, our Chevy Cruze, which costs half the amount of the Enclave, does not have any paint issues at the same mileage. Unfortunately, on Day 4 of owning the car, it experienced an issue where it would not accelerate over 15 mph. Despite this, I remain confident in my ability to make informed decisions when purchasing a vehicle in the future.

The reviews should have been posted before I purchased my car in 2011. Unfortunately, I have had several issues with the car, including the engine light, water pump, and air conditioning. Recently, I had to rebuild the transmission, which is a common issue with the Traverse and Acadia. Despite spending over $3K, the engine light has come on again, possibly due to the catalytic converter. However, I am confident that General Motors will take a closer look at these issues and find a solution. In the meantime, I am determined to make the most of my current vehicle.

We drive about 40,000 miles a year and recently traded our 2016 Premium (66,000 miles) for a 2017 Premium. Unfortunately, we experienced a rattle in the dash after only 4 miles of driving on a gravel road and wind noise was noticeable the following morning at 65 mph against a 25 mph wind. We were surprised and disappointed with the cabin quality of the 2017 model, especially since the 2016 model was much quieter. Have any other Buick owners experienced similar issues with the 2017 model or is it just us? We would appreciate any feedback or advice. Thank you!

We were excited to upgrade from our 2016 Enclave to a 2018 Enclave, hoping for the same level of comfort and accessories at a similar price point. Unfortunately, we found that the new vehicle was more expensive and had fewer conveniences. The controls were harder to reach and some were not even included in the package. We admit that we made the mistake of assuming we would get the same features as before without seeing the vehicle first. We are disappointed with the new push button start and engine shutting off at every light, as well as the shifter. We believe that the more luxurious Essence model has all the good stuff. Although we had some issues with the vehicle, we understand that it may be a matter of personal preference. We did try to return the vehicle to the dealer, but the cost was too high. We are still adjusting to the new controls, but we hope to enjoy the vehicle more in the future.
