The Buick Enclave is a three-row full-size crossover SUV produced by General Motors since 2007. It was previewed at the 2006 North American International Auto Show, officially as a concept car, making it the first Lambda vehicle to be displayed. The Enclave is partially based on the Buick Centieme concept shown at the 2003 Detroit Auto Show.

The first-generation Enclave, the Saturn Outlook, the original GMC Acadia, and the first-generation Chevrolet Traverse all shared the GM Lambda platform.

The Enclave replaced both of Buick's SUVs, the minivan-based Rendezvous and the truck-based Rainier, as well as the Terraza minivan. The second-generation Enclave was officially revealed at the 2017 New York International Auto Show.

  • Summary: In June of 2023 I received a safety recall from GM on my 2016 Buick Enclave concerning a defect in the airbag system. I contacted my local GM dealer and they said the hadn't received the replacement parts yet and that I would be notified when they were available. I checked again in January 2024 and still had no parts. I called again today, July 29, 2024 and received the same answer. I then contacted GM Buick Customer Assistance and was told that the parts were being released in waves to different regions of the country and I would be notified when they were available for my vehicle. It seems to me that their supplier is not placing urgency on manufacturing these parts, which in my opinion is very negligent on their part. Hopefully there have not been any injuries or deaths while waiting to receive repair parts for the vehicles affected by this defect.

  • Summary: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2016 Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Buick Enclave vehicles manufactured August 18, 2015 to September 24, 2015. Due to a manufacturing defect, the windshield wiper motor may overheat when used.
  • Consequence: A wiper motor that overheats increases the risk of a fire.
  • Remedy: GM has notified owners, and dealers will replace the windshield wiper motor cover assembly, free of charge. Owners are advised not to use their front windshield wipers until the wiper cover has been replaced. If weather conditions prevent operation of the vehicle without using the windshield wipers, GM will make arrangements to pick up the vehicle for servicing. The recall began on September 30, 2015.     This car is the largest vehicle I've ever owned. In fact, for around town driving, it was too big, so we no longer have it. However, we absolutely loved it for road trips! The ride was amazingly comfortable on the open highway, and the front seats were incredibly roomy and comfortable. It was like driving a limousine! Although it was challenging to back up, park, and make tight right-hand turns, I never once used the terrible backup camera and was still able to back up straight. The rear visibility was a bit of a challenge, but the huge amount of cargo space made up for it. The navigation system was a bit of a nightmare to use, but it worked now and again. Since the majority of our travel was around town, we decided it wasn't the right car for us. Nonetheless, it provided the best comfort on a road trip I've ever had!

    The engine is consuming oil at an alarming rate. Despite having my oil changed regularly, the oil level barely registered on the dipstick at 46,000 miles, triggering the 'low oil' light. The dealership suggested that I change my oil more frequently and check it at every fuel fill-up, but I have been doing so religiously. It seems that I am driving a $40,000 vehicle with an engine that burns oil, as there are no oil leaks on my garage floor. Unfortunately, this issue has forced me to opt for my daughter's 2009 Pontiac for our upcoming road trip, as I do not feel safe driving the other vehicle far from home. Additionally, there is a loud banging noise in the back floor that the repair techs have been unable to locate, despite it being audible even over the phone. I am disappointed with the quality of this vehicle and would recommend considering other options.

Just like the first one, we had to replace a strut before 20k miles (both needed front right strut?), and we are experiencing continuous transmission slippage between 2nd and 3rd gears. Unfortunately, my second one also has motor-mounts that need to be replaced (31k miles on it)! However, I am fortunate to work with an exceptional dealership (Carl Black in Atl), and they have been the difference between me walking away from Buick vs.

    I really like my vehicle overall, but I do have some concerns about the seats. Although the leather is nice, they could use some more cushioning to make them more comfortable to sit in. In comparison, my 2017 Ford F150 XLT has much more comfortable seats that I can sit in for hours. I was disappointed to find that even after several years, the seats in my Buick Enclave are still too hard. In fact, our old 2008 Buick Lucerne had much softer and more comfortable seats. It's a shame that Buick has cheapened the quality of their seats. I recently traded in my Enclave for a new Ford Expedition XLT and I am much happier with the interior and overall comfort. We even tried out a new 2020 Enclave, but unfortunately the seats were still uncomfortable.

It has plenty of room for both my kids and all of our cargo, and the third row folds down when not in use to provide even more storage space. The bucket seats and captain chairs in the first and second rows are a nice change from the usual bench seats.     We are thrilled with our new SUV, which is by far the quietest vehicle we have ever owned. Despite having owned many vehicles over the years, this one stands out for its quality materials and affordable price compared to other luxury SUVs. The front wheel drive is rated at an impressive 17/24 mpg, and we have already achieved 23.1 mpg on pure highway driving. With 2500 miles on the clock, we can confidently say that the acceleration is more than adequate for passing and going up hills. We are especially pleased with the safety features, including lane departure and front end collision warning, blind spot warning, rear side collision alert, and a middle air bag. The only downside is that the hanger hooks are located in the third row, which makes it difficult to hang clothes when traveling. After 2 years and 10 months of ownership and about 46,000 miles on our 2015 Buick Enclave, we have not had any problems with this automobile at all. We recently purchased a 2017 Buick Lacrosse, which is also very comfortable, but that doesn't mean the Enclave is less comfortable than it was. In fact, it seems to be getting better with age, like a fine musical instrument. We are getting slightly better highway mileage than we did with our 2008, often getting 22-24 miles per gallon, and we have the all-wheel drive. It is as comfortable on trips as any automobile in which I have ever ridden. Around town, it absorbs bumps and potholes very well. There has been plenty of room for any use we have found. We used our 2008 Enclave for a week's vacation in Colorado, carrying 4 adults and 2 grandsons and all of the stuff we 6 people needed, and it had the same interior space as our 2015. We have over 130,000 trouble-free miles of driving with our 2008 and 2015 Enclaves. If you are interested in a near-luxury, super comfortable, reliable, and spacious people hauler, you should seriously consider the Buick Enclave. Thank you for reading!

    My wife and I absolutely love the Buick Enclave! We first bought a 2010 model and enjoyed it so much that we decided to purchase a 2015 model. We plan on upgrading to a new Enclave every five years to stay up-to-date with the latest technology. The car is the perfect size, provides a sense of security and luxury, and is incredibly reliable.

    This SUV is fantastic! It has great styling with fine details, handles like a dream, and has plenty of room for both passengers and cargo. It's also incredibly comfortable to drive and ride in. Compared to other SUVs on the market, it's a great value. While fuel economy isn't the best, it's still dependable and trouble-free after 8 years of ownership. I'm so excited for the 2022 model to come out and I'm considering trading in for a new one!
