The Buick Enclave is a three-row full-size crossover SUV produced by General Motors since 2007. It was previewed at the 2006 North American International Auto Show, officially as a concept car, making it the first Lambda vehicle to be displayed. The 2022 Buick Enclave is a mid-size luxury SUV that has been praised for its value-for-money price tag, superb interior space, and many standard features. However, there are some common problems that owners of this vehicle have reported.
One of the most common problems with the 2022 Buick Enclave is transmission issues. Transmission problems are no fun, and unfortunately, the Enclave is riddled with them. The 2008 model was reported to have the most problematic transmission. Reports stated that the vehicle experienced excessive vibrations and clunking noises whenever they accelerated or shifted. Appearing at around 90,000 miles, fixing a Buick's transmission system may cost as much as $3,500.
Another common problem with the 2022 Buick Enclave is stretched timing chains. The timing chain regulates the turning of the camshaft and crankshaft. With continued use, timing chains will eventually succumb to wear and tear, but it usually takes about 150,000 miles. The 2022 Buick Enclave's cabin is covered in leather, soft-touch plastics, and wooden accents for the most part. However, even with the premium material used for the cabin construction, the cabin doesn't ooze quality like that of the Volvo XC90 and Acura MDX. The fit and finish are a bit mediocre, too, considering the segment and the price proposition. Even though the leather that comes in the dashboard and door cards feels very premium to the touch, in comparison to the Mercedes-Benz GLE and the Volvo XC90, it feels a tad bit rough around the edges. The same applies to the wooden inserts too, which are not as refined as some of the rivals of the segment.
The 2022 Buick Enclave comes with an independent front and rear suspension system, and the suspension is tuned neutrally, making it neither too soft nor too stiff. However, the handling is not its forte, and that would soon be discovered if you try to drive at the limits. The car does have more understeer and body roll than the Volvo XC90 and the BMW X5. The light steering doesn't get heavier as you go faster, and that makes the driving experience a bit mediocre. The steering is not the best in terms of feel and feedback either.
In summary, the 2022 Buick Enclave is a decent option in the mid-size luxury SUV segment, but it is lacking some of the refinement of more expensive European SUVs. - Summary: A known defect that was previously addressed in a previous recall on the 2019 model year is still occurring on 2022 Buick Enclaves with no repair offered by GM. The defect causes a large hole to form in the exhaust pipe between the exhaust manifold and the muffler which could leak Carbon Monoxide into the passenger compartment and cause decreased engine performance. In the attached pictures the defect hole noted in the recall exactly matches the hole in the 2 pictures of the underside of my car in the exact same spot is the previous recall identified. It’s obvious that GM is still producing defective components and parts and placing them on their vehicles after a recall had caused repairs to previous model years.

As you can see in the three attached pictures, all the signs has a shadow in addition to the lights it shows that there is another light under the original light while in fact there is only one

- Summary: I have a 2022 Buick Enclave Avenir. I purchased the car Dec 2021. I received a low pressure indicator October 26, 2022 in which I had the tire repaired. The brakes started grinding in December of 2022. I took it to the local dealership several times and have called to report the issue as well. On one visit the brake pads were repaired because of a bulletin received from GM. A few days after the replacement, the brakes are still grinding. (see attached documents) I called the dealership again and was told, I assure you that you are not the only one. There are at least 4-5 other customers in my area having the same issue and there is nothing the dealership can do until they receive instructions from GM. What can be done about this? I am concerned with this issue and would like to see it resolved or get a replacement. I have not received a follow up call regarding this issue from the local dealership or GM. My family is important to me and I am not comfortable continuing to own this vehicle without a resolve.

- Summary: my 2022 buick enclave was involved in a minor accident that was a stop and go traffic . THE car is supposed to have anti collision sensors in the front grill but the car did not stop or slow down and no warning lights went off , also from the hood had a buckled bacl along with the front fenders and pushed both fenders back a little enough to prevent either front door from opening had to exit through the back seat if the car had caught on fire a person would have not survived , all parts in accident where replaced by the body shop and buick dealer had to recalibrate the collision equipment thanks for any help jeff quicksell

After restart, it was very hard shifting but the engine wasn't revving, Engine light stayed on. Engine revved between 3,500-4,500 rpms without shifting. The car can be very jerky when accelerating from a stop and shifting the first time or two.

- Summary: The contact owns a 2022 Buick Enclave. The contact stated while driving 75 MPH, she heard an abnormal loud popping noise coming from the exterior of the vehicle. The contact veered to the side of the road and inspected the vehicle and noticed that the sunroof glass had shattered. The contact stated there was no object that had struck the sunroof nor any other vehicle nearby that could have caused the sunroof to shatter. The contact was able to continue to drive and the vehicle was taken to a local dealer who inspected the vehicle but could not determine the cause of the failure. The dealer replaced the sunroof glass. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200.

- Consequence: Roof rail air bags that do not deploy as intended increase the risk of injury in a crash.

I have some concerns about the 2020 Premium Enclave. Firstly, I find the 20-inch wheels that came with the SUV to be quite rough riding and noisy, which also reduces the MPG. Additionally, I am not a fan of the dash design, which seems more fitting for a cheaper Chevrolet model. The Bose radio system is also not up to my standards and the color of the car is not worth the premium price we paid for it. Furthermore, the two rear mirrors do not match the color of the car and the seats are quite hard and uncomfortable. The brakes also make a grinding noise when we stop, which the Buick dealership deemed normal and did not fix despite me showing them a TSB for the brake noise. Lastly, the front seats seem narrow and small for me, and I am 5'10 and weigh 160 pounds. If GM continues to not allow us to check the oil level in the transmission, it will be a major inconvenience. Overall, I believe Buick needs to improve their customer service and take better care of their customers. By doing so, they can ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty. Oh, and I also noticed a rumbling from the front as I drive down the road.

The auto stop/start can be a bit jolting, which may feel like the car is stalling. Additionally, Apple Car Play and audio can sometimes cause issues. The accelerating power could be improved, and the automatic transmission may not always shift properly.

I have owned several SUVs and I must say that the Buick is not my favorite. However, I rented one in Hawaii while on vacation and had a less than ideal experience. I found the gear shifter to be almost impossible to use and the driving experience to be similar to that of a 1970s truck. Additionally, the performance was lackluster and the acceleration was practically non-existent. While the price may not be the best value, I have found that for the same price, BMW X5 and BMW X3 are vastly superior. However, this is just my personal opinion and others may have different experiences.

The garage door transmitters and driver's electronic information system have experienced some issues since their initial use. Despite having to visit the dealer for a second time next week, I am confident that the necessary repairs will be made to ensure optimal performance in the future.
