2015 Buick Enclave problems
The Buick Enclave is a three-row full-size crossover SUV produced by General Motors since 2007. It was previewed at the 2006 North American International Auto Show, officially as a concept car, making it the first Lambda vehicle to be displayed. The Enclave is partially based on the Buick Centieme concept shown at the 2003 Detroit Auto Show.
The first-generation Enclave, the Saturn Outlook, the original GMC Acadia, and the first-generation Chevrolet Traverse all shared the GM Lambda platform.
The Enclave replaced both of Buick's SUVs, the minivan-based Rendezvous and the truck-based Rainier, as well as the Terraza minivan. The second-generation Enclave was officially revealed at the 2017 New York International Auto Show.

AIR BAGS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-08-09
- VIN: 5GAKVCKD6FJ
- Components: AIR BAGS
- Summary: I was notified via USPS mail by GM 06/2023 regarding a recall (N232404980 / 23V334) & parts not being currently available. I received a follow-up USPS mail by GM 03/2024 regarding the same recall & parts now being available. I followed up with my Buick dealer 05.24.2024 to request a service appointment. I was told the parts were NOT available & the only way for my vehicle to get fixed was by setting up a "placeholder" appointment to get the parts ordered. This "placeholder" was scheduled for 10.31.2024. I hadn't heard anything & reached back out to the dealer on 08.09.24 & was told the part is still not available & still on order. My vehicle is an older model Buick Enclave (2015) & this is safety recall that can't be completed 1 & 1/2 years AFTER notification (6 months after telling me the parts WERE available). This is getting ridiculous to have to wait to have a SAFETY recall, especially as the issues are more prevalent in older models. And this is also hindering my ability to trade in/resell my vehicle since it's an OPEN recall.
AIR BAGS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-01-01
- VIN: 5GAKVCKD7FJ
- Components: AIR BAGS

The contact called another local dealer, Hennessy Buick GMC (7261 Jonesboro Rd., Morrow, GA 30260); and was informed that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-06-24
- VIN: 5GAKRCKD3FJ
- Components: ENGINE
- Summary: I took my car in for routine maintenance service and requested them to investigate a rattle noise when the car is started and when it idles. The vehicle was around 96K mile range. The repair center said it was the fuel injection system and it was normal. Fast forward to now, I have 111k miles, same rattle noise, and took my car back to shop for routine maintenance service and investigation into the rattle noise. It's the timing chain. Timing chain was stretched to the point where it couldn't be tightened and had to have over $4000 worth of repairs done to replace the chain and other damaged components. I pulled my owners manual and even searched online for the OEM recommended inspections for major components of my car and nothing about having timing chain inspected at any specific mileage point, or any other major components that could fail are listed for major components that could be inspected for wear and tear at said mileage milestones. The fact that prior year models had recalls due to failed timing chains, you'd expect to see following year cars, of the same body style, to have a heightened recommended inspection schedule to make sure the solution to the prior recall worked.

AIR BAGS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-06-01
- VIN: 5GAKRCKD0FJ
- Components: AIR BAGS
- Summary: GM Recall N232404980: I was sent a letter in June 2023 about this recall, which stated parts were not currently available to replace the airbag. The letter states that GM will contact me when the part becomes available. On May 8, 2024 I called my local GM dealer to ask about the status of this recall. The dealer said they would have to special order the part and would notify me when it was available. The dealer never notified me and on May 28, 2024 I called the dealer, they checked, and the part had come into the dealership. Today I had the new airbag installed at the dealership. Had I not followed up on this recall I may never have been notifed that the replacement was available. This is totally unaccepable and GM should be held responsible.

- VIN: 5GAKVCKD8FJ
- Components: AIR BAGS
- Summary: The recall was discovered on March 25 by my car insurance company. We stopped driving the vehicle since it is unsafe to drive it until recall is remidied with a new part. I have called GM 3 times as well as 3 different dealerships. GM and one dealership mentioned the vehicle is actually safe to drive its just if you got in accident that it would be a concern! Noone can say when these parts will be in and its already been 3 weeks. The dealerships refuse to offer a loaner and when asked about reimburse for a rental they said to call GM. Gm refused to reimburse for a rental since my car is paid for and out of their warranty. GM nor the dealerships are actually doing anything to fix the car or offer transportation that is safe until it can be fixed.

I recently purchased the Buick Enclave after a test drive and I must say, I was really impressed with the quality of the vehicle both inside and out. My family and I were shopping for a new SUV, and being a big Honda/Acura owner, we found that those dealers had priced themselves out of our market range. However, I saw the commercials for the special sale of the Enclave and decided to test drive one. I really liked it, and the dealer gave us almost 20% off the list price! The SUV has almost everything we need, including heated seats, a heated steering wheel, Nav, leather, two sunroofs, remote start, lane and distance control, and more. What a great car! We drove it on a 120-mile trip right after purchase in the snow and ice, and we are extremely happy with our purchase. Thanks for such a wonderful experience!
-
This car exceeded my expectations. It's incredibly comfortable and quiet, and the safety features are excellent. Buick has done a great job producing a true luxury SUV.

The car was running smoothly until the warranty expired. Unfortunately, at around 48000 miles (the warranty is for 50K miles), the audio amplifier stopped working. I took the car to the dealer, assuming it was still under warranty, but was informed that the warranty had expired after four years or 50K miles, whichever came first. The replacement of the amplifier cost around $800. Shortly after, following a rainy day, I noticed that the rear wiper would not turn off. I decided to pull the fuse and live without the rear wiper. On the following Saturday, the car wouldn't start and the steering wheel wouldn't lock. I had to spend an hour trying different things, such as turning it on and off, shifting in and out of park, and checking fuses, before it finally started. The battery wasn't the issue, as all other electrical items on the car functioned normally. Then, on Sunday, as I was leaving a baseball game, the car lost all power in the parking lot driveway and wouldn't move. I put the car in park, turned the key off, and took the key out of the ignition switch, but the engine kept running. Ultimately, I had to disconnect both battery cables and short the cables together to get the engine to stop. This must have reset the electronics, since I reconnected the cables, got the car started, and drove it to the dealership. Again, the engine wouldn't turn off at the dealership, but this time it would still move. I disconnected and shorted the cables a second time, which again stopped the engine. I left the battery cables disconnected, locked the car, and left it there. Now, I'm trying to decide whether to stay with this car, with Buick, with GM, change brands, or try a foreign-made automobile. All of this has been disappointing. On a positive note, I had the windshield replaced in January 2019 because it was cracked. The Buick dealership did a great job identifying the cause of the issues with the electronics in the dash area - a leaking windshield. They also provided excellent assistance in dealing with the windshield replacement company. The total cost of repairs, including the audio amplifier, is $1,812.00. I plan to stick with Buick and this car for the foreseeable future. Hopefully, the windshield replacement company will follow through on their commitment to reimburse me. If not, I know I can count on Buick to help me out.

Although my car has 63000 miles, I have had to replace the seat bases in the driver and passenger seat twice, as well as the tires due to air leakage. Additionally, I have had to address an evaporative leak, traction control error, engine coil replacement, and spark plug replacement. Currently, the steering gear requires replacement for $1900+. Despite these challenges, I remain confident in the quality of this car. While some Buick owners have reported similar steering issues, I believe that this car is still a great choice for those seeking a luxury vehicle. I recommend purchasing an extended warranty for added peace of mind.

I really appreciate the spaciousness of the Enclave and how smoothly it drives. It also makes me feel safe while driving. However, I have had some trouble with the electronics. Unfortunately, the incoming text feature stopped working after less than a year and the navigation system can be difficult to use. Sometimes letters or numbers are missing, making it impossible to enter an address. I even got lost the other day because of this issue. Despite these setbacks, I still find the Enclave to be a great car. I do wish that the text feature worked better, as it would be nice to be able to listen to the radio while checking messages. Overall, I have had a positive experience with the Enclave and would recommend it to others.

The A/C malfunctioned during a trip to Phoenix, just 3 months after purchase. The shocks require replacement at 65,000 miles, and there is some rust starting on the leading edge of the hood. While this may be disappointing, it is important to note that the exterior styling is second to none and the interior is reminiscent of a luxury car. Overall, I remain confident in the quality of this GM product.

I wrote the earlier review shortly after taking delivery of the vehicle. Although it is a solid vehicle, I must downgrade our 5-star rating to 3. It seems we did not do a great job test driving it. In addition to the less than smooth ride noted earlier, the middle row of seats is very cramped and uncomfortable for most adults. My wife, who is about 5'6
