The Buick Enclave is a three-row full-size crossover SUV produced by General Motors since 2007. There was no lights, no nothing. No tampering of any kind had ever been done to it whatsoever. And no one has looked at it since. It still falls randomly while driving. EVERY DAY I GET IN MY VEHICLE MY CONCERN IS WILL MY FAMILY LOOSE THEIR LIFE IF MY STEERING LOCK UP OR I CANT AVOID AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THE ISSUE.

THE CAR MADE A CLUNKING NOISE. I TOOK IT TO THE BUICK GARAGE AND THEY RECOMMENDED THE STRUT TOWERS BE REPLACED AND THE REAR AXLE. THEY HAVE RECORD OF THE DATE AND MILEAGE. THE POWER STEERING CABLE RUBBED ON THE AIR CONDITIONING LINE AND A A HOLE WAS CREATED. THE AIR CONDITIONER BECAME NON-FUNCTIONAL. A DIAGNOSTIC WAS PERFORMED BY THE BUICK GARAGE BUT, WE DID NOT HAVE THE FUNDS TO REPAIR THE AIR CONDITIONER SINCE WE NEEDED TO REBUILD THE STRUT TOWERS. SO WE DROVE THE CAR WITH A NON-FUNCTIONING AIR CONDITIONING UNIT, UNTIL THE CAR STOPPED OPERATING IN REVERSE AND STOPPED ACCELERATING OVER 20 MPH. I AM A SINGLE MOM WITH 3 CHILDREN. THIS HAS BEEN A GREAT HARDSHIP FOR US. IT IS VERY UNLIKELY THAT I WOULD PURCHASE A CAR FROM BUICK IN THE FUTURE.

THE STEERING WHEEL BECOMES VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN CAUSING ME TO ALMOST HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE AS THE TURNING RADIUS HAD BECOME MUCH MORE LARGER THAN I AM USED TO. THE POWER STEERING DOES NOT SEEM TO BE IMPACTED WHILE GOING 15 MPH OR HIGHER, IT IS ONLY WHILE APPLYING BRAKES AND SLOWING DOWN AND TURNING, RIGHT OR LEFT. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY AN AUTO SHOP THAT LOSS OF POWER STEERING IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR GM VEHICLES BETWEEN 2009 - 2011 AND THAT EVEN A SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT WAS ISSUED, NOT A RECALL THOUGH. THE SPECIAL COVERAGE WAS ISSUED FOR CARS UP TO 150,000 OR 10 YEARS AFTER CAR WAS ISSUED FOR SERVICE/SOLD. TEN YEARS IN MY CASE WAS IN FEBRUARY 2019. I CALLED A GM DEALER TO ASK FOR HELP AND WAS TOLD I'M OUT OF LUCK BECAUSE THE 10 YEARS HAD PASSED. I AM THE 2ND OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE AND PURCHASED IT USED IN DECEMBER 2014. I NEVER RECEIVED LETTERS OR NOTICE FROM GM OF THIS SPECIAL COVERAGE. FURTHERMORE, I HAVE REPEATEDLY TAKEN MY CAR IN FOR SERVICE TO THIS SAME DEALERSHIP OVER THE 5+ YEARS OF OWNERSHIP AND NEVER ONCE DID THE GM DEALER NOTIFY ME OF THE SPECIAL COVERAGE.   • Summary: General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2008-2017 Buick Enclave and 2013-2017 Chevrolet Traverse vehicles. The driver's air bag inflator may explode during deployment, due to a manufacturing defect.
  • Consequence: An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death.
  • Remedy: Dealers will replace the driver's air bag module, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters were mailed on November 3, 2021. Owner notification letters were mailed on January 10, 2022. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N212349040.

  • Summary: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2008-2012 Buick Enclave vehicles manufactured January 3, 2007, to February 29, 2012, 2009-2012 Chevrolet Traverse vehicles manufactured July 6, 2008, to March 9, 2012, 2007-2012 GMC Acadia vehicles manufactured September 15, 2006, to February 29, 2012, and 2007-2010 Saturn Outlook vehicles manufactured August 17, 2006, to March 18, 2010. The affected vehicles, equipped with the power liftgate option, have gas struts that hold the power liftgate up when open. These struts may prematurely wear and the open liftgate may suddenly fall.
  • Consequence: If the open liftgate unexpectedly falls, it may strike a person, increasing their risk of injury.
  • Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will update the software for the power liftgate actuator motor control unit so that the motor will prevent the rapid closing of the lift gate, free of charge. The recall began on November 15, 2016. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782, and Saturn customer service at 1-800-553-6000.   • Summary: General Motors is recalling certain model year 2009-2014 Buick Enclave vehicles manufactured April 14, 2008, through May 14, 2014, Chevrolet Traverse vehicles manufactured June 6, 2008, through May 14, 2014, and GMC Acadia vehicles manufactured April 9, 2008, through May 14, 2014, and 2009-2010 Saturn Outlook vehicles manufactured April 14, 2008, through March 18, 2010. In the affected vehicles, the flexible steel cable that connects the seatbelt to the front outboard seating positions may fatigue and separate over time.
  • Consequence: If the steel cable becomes fatigued and separates, the seatbelt may not properly restrain the seat occupant increasing the risk of an injury in a crash.
  • Remedy: General Motors will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and, if necessary, repair and replace the lap pretensioner, free of charge. Parts are not currently available. An interim notice will be mailed to owners in July 2014. A second notice will be mailed to owners once parts become available. The recall for the 2009-2010 model years began on July 11, 2014. The interim letter for the 2011-2014 model years were distributed on July 11, 2014. In the affected vehicles, increased resistance in the driver and passenger seat mounted side impact air bag (SIAB) wiring harnesses may result in the SIAB and seat belt pretensioners not deploying in the event of a crash.
  • Consequence: Failure of the side impact air bags and seat belt pretensioners to deploy in a crash increase the risk of injury to the driver and front seat occupant.
  • Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the affected harness connections with soldered connections, free of charge. The recall began on June 16, 2014.     We recently purchased a car in a 'clunker' trade-in deal and my wife was immediately drawn to its comfortable interior and quiet ride. While these features have certainly lived up to our expectations, we have encountered a few issues after 4 months of use. The gas mileage has been lower than advertised, averaging between 15-20 miles per gallon instead of the advertised 17-24. We brought the car back to the dealer, but unfortunately, they were unable to find any issues. Additionally, we had to put foam strips on the underside of our garage door because the rear door lifts too high and bangs on the bottom of the garage door, which seems like a design flaw. Lastly, we were disappointed to find that there were no clothes hooks on the second row seats, making it difficult to hang clothes. Overall, the car is nice, but we would recommend considering other options before investing a significant amount of money.

    Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with my 2009 Enclave. I bought it in Florida and later moved to the mountains in Virginia. I've noticed a few things that could be improved, such as the plastic outside between the windows bubbling and the coating coming off of the air conditioner button. Additionally, the carpet on the passenger side has worn down completely. However, I'm happy to report that all of these issues are covered under warranty, except for the carpet. I have noticed that the car rolls back a bit while in drive on a hill, which can be a bit concerning, but overall I'm still enjoying my Enclave. Thanks for listening!

    I have owned four Buick vehicles, but unfortunately, this one has been the worst. Despite purchasing an extended warranty, it did not cover any of the repairs, which included a high pressure fuel pump, two catalytic converters, and two dead batteries. The electrical system has also been problematic, with frequent check engine lights and a shorted front blower fan. Although I appreciate the comfortable ride and road presence of the car, it has unfortunately been a costly investment, with nearly $10k spent on repairs. Additionally, I have had to replace the motor due to a timing chain issue, which is not a common occurrence for me. While I plan to run out my warranty on the replacement motor, I will likely consider other options when it is time to replace this vehicle.

    The Buick Enclave is a beautifully designed vehicle that we absolutely adore. The Red Jewel tintcoat exterior is stunning, especially when paired with the chrome finishings. We opted for the cashmere leather with cocoa accents, which adds to the luxurious feel of the interior. While the Edmund's editor may not be a fan of the interior 'bling', we personally love it. During a recent road trip, we were able to average 22mpg, and even with city driving mixed in, we are still seeing an overall average of 19mpg. We are extremely satisfied with the fuel economy. When it comes to comfort, quietness, and luxury features, no other SUV even comes close to the Enclave. I personally love it so much that I would drive it all the time (if only my wife would let me).

    I love this car! It's the perfect family vehicle that offers both style and comfort, just like an upscale SUV. Although the pricing is high, ours stickered just over $50k. We upgraded from a 2007 Chrysler Aspen (full-size) and didn't miss any space. The fuel economy is great, averaging about 18 city, 24 highway, sometimes even better! It's very luxurious, after all, it's a Buick!
