I purchased this vehicle used from a private owner. In April of 2023 the transmission went out without any warning a major expense not to mention the trauma from being stranded on the highway. The repair at that time was not under a recall even though several other Buick Enclaves failed at the same time. Present November 2023 upon returning home from a road trip the vehicle showed the inability to shirt failed to shift into the proper gear NHTSA Recall ID: 14V092000 . Vehicle was towed to a local shop for diagnosis this is very irritating and upon calling was told that recall did not apply to my vehicle. PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY NOT !

- Summary: I originally did front end collision repairs on this GM vehicle and I had to originally replace the front passenger seatbelt. I went through 3 apparent good used ones for replacement and all of them have had their fair share of difference from acting up. One of them seemed to work but every now and then the airbag light would come on due to seatbelt. Replaced it with another and frequently the airbag light would come off and on than the last one installed. The 3rd replacement seems to work but airbag light would come on again, not as frequent and would only shut off if seatbelt is pulled and retracted purposely by hand. I am not seeing a short or a wire problem but the seatbelt is not working properly and I believe GM has failed to produce quality front passenger seatbelts. Even all three of the seatbelt would not fully retract on their own without pushing it in by hand.

This needs to be fixed as I was researching I found many others complaint of the same year 2013 Buick enclave having the same issue. - Summary: Vehicle has been to GM dealership many times for problems related to reduced engine power, stabilitrack, and traction control issues. Dealer replaced relay switches, problem appeared to be fixed. While driving on a busy road, engine power reduced, stabilitrack, and traction control warnings illuminated. Car reduced speed nearly causing an accident while driving and power steering failed. Police needed to help remove car from roadway. ECM replaced, appeared fixed for awhile. While driving on Highway 54, same warnings illuminated and car slowed itself from 60mph to under 30mph. Numerous complaints can be found about the 2013 Buick Enclave and other years and this problem. I believe it will cause an accident and kill someone one day, if it hasn't already. Class action suit was even filed, and unfortunately dismissed. I'm afraid to drive my car. It is at the dealership AGAIN and we've only owned it since February 2022.

Now as the dealership was diagnosing and repairing a separate issue they've notified me that there is a failed steering rack. The power steering rack repair is estimated to be $2,000. As this is a definite safety issue I am reporting in hopes of Buick assisting with this known failure. Invoice to be uploaded when repair is completed.

ALL FUSES TESTED AND CHECKED AND NO FAULTS WERE REPORTED ON THE DRIVER DISPLAY OR FROM OBD CHECK. UPON REPLACEMENT OF MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH (HIGH BEAM, TURN SIGNAL, WIPER SWITCH) IT WAS OBSERVED THAT THE 4 PIN WIRE HARNESS (BLUE, GREEN, YELLOW, ORANGE) THAT IS SOLDERED TO THE PCB BOARD HAS ONLY ONE SPOT OF PROTECTION ELECTRICAL TAPE ON THE BACK OF THE UNIT.. AS THE WIRES ROUTE THROUGH THE PLASTIC HOUSING TO THE TURN SIGNAL MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH THEY ARE SUBJECT TO WEAR AND BECOMING SNAGGED BY NORMAL USE OF THE TURN SIGNAL OR HIGH BEAMS. HAVING ZERO PROTECTION OVER THIS WIRING CAUSED THE ORANGE WIRE TO BECOME BRITTLE AND BREAK AWAY FROM THE MODULE. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE TO HAVE NO WIRE GROMMET PROTECTING SUCH A CRITICAL MOVING PART OF THE VEHICLE FUNCTIONALITY. IT IS CLEAR THAT THIS WAS A CHEAP DESIGN WITH LITTLE TO NO OVERSIGHT. ALL OTHER PLASTIC HOUSING , COPPER CONTACT POINTS AND MOVING PARTS WERE CLEAN AND FREE OF DEBRIS AND HAD SUFFICIENT GREASE TO MOVE PROPERLY. THIS IS A VERY SIMILAR PROBLEM TO COMPLAINT # 14V266000 WHERE MOVING PARTS HAVE CLEARLY NOT HAD PROPER PROTECTION AROUND WIRING OR WIRE HARNESSES.

GM ADVISED ME THAT BECAUSE MY CAR WAS OUTSIDE OF WARRANTY THEY WOULD NOT PAY FOR THE REPAIR. MY CONCERN IS THAT IF THEY KNEW OF THE ISSUE OR NOW HAVE REASON TO KNOW OF THE ISSUE, WHY WOULD GM NOT BE REQUIRED TO MITIGATE DAMAGE AND PAY FOR THE REPAIR OR SOME PORTION THEREOF.

IT HAS NOT SHUT OFF THE ENGINE SO FAR, BUT THERE ARE PROBLEMS WITH STEERING AND DOWN OR UP SHIFTING DURING AND RIGHT AFTER THIS HAPPENS. IT MAY DO THIS MULTIPLE TIMES WITHIN THE SPAN OF ABOUT 10 MINS, OR IT MAY DO IT ONCE IN A 30 MIN SPAN OF TIME. THERE IS NO PATTERN OR REASONING TO IT. IT DOES THIS NO MATTER WHAT WEATHER CONDITION OR ROAD CONDITION THERE IS, AND NO MATTER HOW FAST I AM GOING OR HOW MANY MILES I HAVE DRIVEN. IT DOES SEEM TO BE DOING IT MORE ON A REGULAR BASIS NOW, IT IS EVERY SINGLE TIME I DRIVE THE CAR, AND THIS IS A DAILY DRIVER I DRIVE IT AT LEAST FOUR TIMES A DAY. NOW I'M LEFT WITH A CAR THAT MIGHT KILL ME IN A CRASH, AND MY BEST BET TO SURVIVE CRASH IS TO 'TRICK' SENSOR BY MOVING MY DRIVER SEAT ' BACK AND FORTH EVERY SO OFTEN!'

WHEN I WAS DRIVING ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE CAR CHIMED ABOUT 3 TIMES THEN ALL THE SUDDEN THE DASHBOARD READ THE FOLLOWING: 1.ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED 2.SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL OFF 3.SERVICE STABILITRAK 4.THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AT THE SAME TIME, THE ENGINE POWER STARTED TO DIE DOWN AND I WAS BARELY MOVING. IT WAS HARD TO STEER AND ALL POWER FUNCTIONS GREATLY REDUCED. ONCE I SHUT IT OFF AND RESTARTED THE CAR MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYED ON BUT IT SWITCHED FROM TRACTION CONTROL OFF TO TRACTION CONTROL ON. THEN I WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE DRIVING AGAIN. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE THINKING IT WAS A GOOD FAMILY CAR BUT NOW AFTER DEALING WITH THIS PROBLEM AND SEEING ALL THE COMPLAINTS ONLINE AND NOTHING BEING DONE, NO RECALL, I MADE A BAD CHOICE. MY CHILDREN WERE WITH ME WHEN THIS HAPPEND A FEW TIMES AND WE WERE ALMOST REAR ENDED BECAUSE OF IT. THE CAR LITERALLY STOPS WORKING. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM AND IS NOT UNCOMMON TO GMC VEHICLES. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY GMC HAS NOT IDENTIFIED THE PROBLEM. I AM TAKING IT TO NIMNICHT DEALERSHIP TOMORROW IN JACKSONVILLE. HOPEFULLY THEY HAVE SOME REAL ANSWERS BEFORE THIS CAR ENDS UP KILLING ME OR SOMEONE ELSE. - Consequence: An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death.
- Remedy: Dealers will replace the driver's air bag module, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters were mailed on November 3, 2021. Owner notification letters were mailed on January 10, 2022. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. - Summary: General Motors is recalling certain model year 2009-2014 Buick Enclave vehicles manufactured April 14, 2008, through May 14, 2014, Chevrolet Traverse vehicles manufactured June 6, 2008, through May 14, 2014, and GMC Acadia vehicles manufactured April 9, 2008, through May 14, 2014, and 2009-2010 Saturn Outlook vehicles manufactured April 14, 2008, through March 18, 2010. In the affected vehicles, the flexible steel cable that connects the seatbelt to the front outboard seating positions may fatigue and separate over time.
- Consequence: If the steel cable becomes fatigued and separates, the seatbelt may not properly restrain the seat occupant increasing the risk of an injury in a crash.
- Remedy: General Motors will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and, if necessary, repair and replace the lap pretensioner, free of charge. Parts are not currently available. An interim notice will be mailed to owners in July 2014. A second notice will be mailed to owners once parts become available. The recall for the 2009-2010 model years began on July 11, 2014. The interim letter for the 2011-2014 model years were distributed on July 11, 2014. In the affected vehicles, increased resistance in the driver and passenger seat mounted side impact air bag (SIAB) wiring harnesses may result in the SIAB and seat belt pretensioners not deploying in the event of a crash.
- Consequence: Failure of the side impact air bags and seat belt pretensioners to deploy in a crash increase the risk of injury to the driver and front seat occupant.
- Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the affected harness connections with soldered connections, free of charge. The recall began on June 16, 2014. Buick owners may contact the owner center at 1-800-521-7300, Chevrolet owners at 1-866-694-6546, Saturn at 1-800-553-6000, and GMC owners at 1-866-996-9463. GM's number for this recall is 14030. I recently traded in my 2004 Rainier for a 2012 White Diamond AWD Premium Enclave. Choosing between the Enclave, the Acadia Denali and the Cadillac SRX was a tough decision, but after test driving all three, the Enclave was the clear winner. It's spacious, elegant, smooth, quiet, and incredibly luxurious. Although it was a bit pricey - even more expensive than my 2003 Yukon Denali XL - it's definitely worth it. This vehicle is loaded with every amenity you can think of!

The car rides great and the interiors are really nice. I like the overall features. However, I have been experiencing some issues with gas mileage since I got the car in July (now Oct). With a City/Hwy combo every day to/from work, I average only 12 miles to the gallon. It is quite disappointing to watch and fill up the tank so frequently. The dealer advised me to wait until the engine is broken in at 5K, but I am not too optimistic. I may be looking to trade it in for that reason alone. Update 4/10/16: The car is still nice, but the gas mileage is horrible in a real city, not just in the suburbs where the car manufacturer measures gas mileage.

Great running automobile. It's quiet and peppy when needed, making it comfortable on both long and short trips. While the instrumentation may take some time to get used to, the manual is there to help. The gasoline mileage is adequate for the size of the car, but not outstanding. However, it's important to note that one should not purchase this SUV with the idea of saving money at the gas pump.

It sounds like you've taken great care of this vehicle! From what you've shared, it seems reliable and well-maintained. The interior space is also a plus. The only thing to note is that it may need new brake pads soon. Overall, it seems like a great car!

I strongly advise against purchasing this Truck. Despite my past experience with similar vehicles and the price point, the Enclave I purchased only has 76K miles and is already experiencing a stretched timing belt issue. Although I have replaced the camshaft position and crankshaft sensors, the code P00019 related to the timing belt remains on and is not covered by warranty. As a result, I have lost confidence in this vehicle and will be returning to foreign cars. My Montero Sport, which I owned for 15 years, only required regular maintenance and never had any major issues. Overall, I am disappointed with the Enclave and would not recommend it.

The repair shop informed me, after the fact, that Enclaves are notorious for transmission failure, power steering pump issues, timing chain problems, and various other malfunctions. Despite having paid only 8000 for the vehicle a month earlier, I had to spend 5000 on repairs.

In 2008, the Buick Enclave was a true masterpiece, a game-changer in the world of cross-over SUVs. However, my opinion of the 2013 Enclave is not as positive. While Buick did add some features, they also removed or downgraded some important aspects. The Intellilink system with enhanced navigation was supposed to be the highlight of this vehicle, but the touchscreen is now smaller than before. Additionally, features like Pandora, Stitcher, and Photoviewer simply do not work. It's disappointing that a $50,000 vehicle is not even compatible with an iPhone. Furthermore, there is an occasional low rumbling noise in the engine manifold when the vehicle is idling at a stoplight. Overall, it's clear that the 2013 Enclave falls short of the high standards set by its predecessor.

Just wanted to give you a heads up that replacing a single headlight bulb for our 2013 Enclave can be quite expensive, costing nearly $500! While a couple of smaller light bulbs burned out during the warranty period, we were surprised to find out that a headlight bulb only lasted 3 years. Unfortunately, replacing both bulbs will cost almost $1000.00. It's disappointing that Buick charges so much for a simple bulb replacement. We may have to consider other car brands when we purchase our next vehicle this spring. Thank you for your understanding.
