- Consequence: An unsecured child restraint system can increase the risk of injury during a crash.

It's fantastic that you're getting over 20 miles of all-electric range on your commute to work, and that the car provides a luxurious feel while still being fun to drive. After months of research, I finally purchased the 22’ Volvo XC60. I used to worry about every bad review and analyze every detail, but I realized that everyone has a different experience. My car came with Apple CarPlay and a wireless charging pad. For those who are experiencing disconnection issues, try closing the top and bottom covers to secure your phone in place. Although Sirius is not yet available, having Apple CarPlay in the vehicle is more than enough. If I had to nitpick, I would suggest having a 4-way camera standard on all models. However, I still highly recommend this car. The cabin is luxurious with a simple dash, and I feel safe driving it. I hope my experience can help others who are stressing over their research. For those considering between the Volvo XC60 and the Audi Q5, I strongly advise against the latter. There is currently a class action lawsuit in the making over their gateway problems, and the dealers pretend to know nothing about it which is laughable.

It took a while, but I have grown to appreciate this SUV. After replacing a defective 12v battery and updating my car from the 2.0 to the 2.1 software, the initial issues that were bricking my XC60 B5 were resolved. I found that turning off the automatic software updates, which can be done in the 'check for software update' submenu, has made my car stable. I am sticking with version 2.1 for now, as it has been great on my B5 trim. Although 2.2 is available and includes Apple CarPlay, it was just released and the initial bugs have not been worked out yet. While CarPlay is in high demand, the native Google OS has been great, and the Google map appears on the driver display, which CarPlay currently won't. I recommend finding the software version that enables stability for your car/trim and then turning off automatic updates in the settings. For my XC60 B5, I am going to stick with 2.1 until forced to update or until the blogs indicate that Volvo and Google are aligning better. Aside from the software gremlins, this SUV is comfortable, super handsome in my r-design trim, and feels a touch unique.

We decided to explore Volvo's PHEV option after realizing that other popular brands like Hyundai and Toyota have a $5-10k mark-up. Although the MSRP is still higher, we were thoroughly impressed with the driving experience and smooth ride. The 35-mile pure electric range is practical and convenient. However, we did have some concerns about the Google infotainment system. The lack of Apple CarPlay is disappointing, and the absence of Waze is a major inconvenience for us. The dealer assured us that these features will be available through an over-the-air update by the end of the year. If they are not, we may have to reconsider our rating of the vehicle.

The 2022 XC60 Recharge is an amazing vehicle! The power, steering, braking (including regenerative braking), ride and electric only distance are truly outstanding. We have been able to complete 100% of our local driving on battery alone, thanks to its impressive electric range of 35-40 miles. The driving experience is easily 5-stars. Although the Google Android user interface is just okay, it does integrate common Google apps like Maps and various music options, which is nice. We do hope that Volvo will offer Apple Car Play in the near future. With the upgraded battery, the 2022 XC60 Recharge is highly recommended for both electric only local driving and comfortable, efficient and anxiety-free long distance travel.

The car looks and drives great! However, I did experience a couple of issues. Firstly, the collision avoidance system activated itself twice on the highway when there were no cars in front, which was a bit concerning. Secondly, when I turned the car on, there was no sound from the radio, GPS or turn signals. I will be returning to the dealer to have the system checked, but I am a bit worried based on other comments I have read on forums.

We recently purchased a brand new Volvo XC60 2022 model, but unfortunately experienced some issues during our first weekend trip. The engine suddenly overheated and we noticed a strange burning smell coming from the bonnet, which forced us to pull over and wait for the car to cool down. On our way from Toronto to Montreal, we encountered another issue when the car broke down in the middle of the highway with no prior indication. A message on the dashboard indicated a critical fault with the 12V battery and deteriorated performance. We were stranded on Hwy 401E, past Port Hope, at 7.40pm EST, nearing sunset. As my husband was driving and I am 6 months pregnant, we were understandably concerned for our safety. We called the dealership for advice and they suggested we switch off and restart the car, but unfortunately this did not work. We then called the 'ON CALL' service, but they were unable to scan our car software remotely and could only tow us to the nearest Volvo showroom, which was still over 90km away from Toronto and closed for the long weekend. Despite our repeated requests, they were unwilling to tow us back to Toronto and showed no compassion for our situation. We were left with no choice but to agree to their offer and wait for the tow truck. After almost 20 minutes of waiting, we received a text message with a link to track the tow truck's location, which showed it was coming from Ajax. We called the number to confirm that it was the correct truck and waited for it to arrive.They informed me that they were under the impression that we were at AJAX and they were yet to start. It would take another 1.5 hours. I called back ON-CALL and reconfirmed our location with the nearest exits, which was Wesleyville outlet from 401E. The person on the other side kept asking for a landmark, which was basically just a few trees and shrubs and heavy trucks racing past. It was beyond 8.30 pm by this time. Another 10-15 minutes later, the tow company SSR TOWING called back to ask if we were at some cottage at Port Hope. By this time, we were in despair and didn't know what to do. I once again tried to re-explain our location (for the 1000th time) and then came the LAST BLOW!!! The tow truck (which was yet to come and pick us up) could only seat one of us. The other person would have to follow in an Uber. I pleaded with them to provide another truck, explaining my situation, but there was no reaction, just a cold refusal. My husband called back ON-CALL to cancel the tow, and they indifferently agreed with a 'sorry for the inconvenience' response. We called 911, and with God's grace, a truck from CAA Certified BROWN TOWING company arrived hastily in 15 minutes and towed all of us back to our home in Toronto North York within 1 hour. The guy was efficient, compassionate (asked if I needed a restroom and something to eat), and provided great service at a reasonable price. I would like to know where VOLVO stands in terms of its moral grounds when it comes to customer service, apart from its pathetic car performance.

The infotainment system needs improvement as it has been causing inconvenience. I will be seeking assistance tomorrow. It is disappointing to see that this issue is not unique to me and there may not be a permanent solution. I did not experience this problem with my previous 2019 Volvo XC60. During my test drive, I missed the reflection of the heads up display box on the dashboard, which is unfortunate. The heads up display is not necessary for me and I have turned it off. Overall, I wish I had purchased a different car.

I purchased a 2021 Volvo XC60 Inscription T5 in March of 2021. Although it was a retired loaner vehicle, I was disappointed to find that the infotainment/climate controls were difficult and unsafe to use while driving. Unfortunately, I experienced several issues with the vehicle over the course of 9 months and had to visit the dealer 7 times. These issues included a missing clip on an evaporation hose, a bad turbo control module that caused the engine to run very rich and diminished fuel economy, and an overactive rear cross traffic alert that caused me discomfort. Despite these issues, I was pleased with the way my dealership (Stillman Volvo) and Volvo stood behind their product and worked to put me in a different vehicle. I am now driving a 2022 XC60 B5 Inscription with the same options and the addition of the Advanced Package. While I appreciate the effort, I must say that the new Google-based system is no better than the old one and the GPS/Google assist is currently not working. Additionally, I noticed that there are less covers on the radiator support and other metal components, which reminds me of a vehicle built in the 1970s. The rear climate control reads in Celsius and the front in Fahrenheit, which can be confusing. On the positive side, the new powertrain is smoother and more fuel-efficient than the T5. However, for nearly $60k, I feel that this vehicle is overpriced. The driving dynamics are okay at best and the road noise from the tires is annoying. I miss our 2012 S60 that was much quieter and simpler to use. Unfortunately, I am disappointed with the 4-year subscription that gives you automatic start, only to require a $400 payment for a new subscription. This seems like complete nonsense! Despite these issues, I appreciate the effort made by Stillman Volvo and Volvo to address my concerns.

We have been leasing the 2022 XC-60 for 14 months and unfortunately, we have had to take it into the dealership seven times with the same unrepairable issues. The infotainment system, which controls everything from heat/air con to reversing cameras to GPS, has been a total disaster. The screen will suddenly go black leaving us with no heat in the middle of the Canadian winter or no A/C in the middle of summer. Nothing permanently fixes it. The dealership has even replaced the display and it did nothing. The dealership continues to perform system updates that sometimes help for a short time but the issue inevitably returns. The problems are never fully resolved. Safety warnings constantly come up in the dash. We don't feel safe in this vehicle and we understand that Volvo has its limitations in resolving this issue. It is beyond frustrating to be paying a not insignificant amount of money monthly to lease a car that can't provide functional features. The software was apparently changed to android or Google in 2022 and it is a complete disaster. We did not get the car we were promised and we are so disappointed we will likely never get another Volvo, which is an embarrassment to Volvo as my family have been loyal Volvo clients since my childhood. We would appreciate hearing from other people who have had similar issues and how they have resolved them. It's a gorgeous vehicle and drives beautifully when it works but the software has completely ruined it.
