Nissan dealership did not repair the airbag sensor or change or fix clock spring therefore still being a safety hazard during deployment, which can lead to metal fragments breaking and bursting thru causing possible threat by shooting metal fragments to car occupants. Nissan airbag recalled the inflator for the specific reason of repairing it completely free of possible injury from metal fragments breaking during deployment and Nissan did not repair it. The recall states dealership is not to release vehicle until successful inspection. It is not repaired and still poses the same threat the recall states. It's now reported as fixed to manufacture, stating zero recalls. The 97.7 million dollar lawsuit Amended requirements Sept 2017 for dealership to repair to full inspection regulations. - Summary: MY 2009 NISSAN VERSA HAS A RECALL FOR THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIRBAGS. I LIVE IN AN AREA WITH NO DIRECT ACCESS TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP, AND WOULD NEED THE CAR TO BE BARGED TO THE NEAREST ONE. NISSAN HAS REFUSED TO BARGE THE CAR TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP TO FIX THE RECALL ISSUE. NISSAN IS REFUSING TO FIX THE RECALL ISSUE LOCALLY WHERE THERE IS NO DEALERSHIP AVAILABLE OR NISSAN CERTIFIED MECHANICS. I HAVE REQUESTED THE PART TO BE SHIPPED TO A LOCAL MECHANIC FOR IT TO BE FIXED, BUT WAS DENIED. I ASKED TO PURCHASE THE PART AND HAVE A LOCAL MECHANIC INSTALL IT AND WAS TOLD THAT WAS NOT POSSIBLE. SO AT THIS TIME NISSAN IS DENYING ANY POSSIBLE ROUTE TO HAVE THE AIRBAG RECALL FIXED. ALL I WANT IS TO HAVE THE PART REPLACED SO I AM NO LONGER AT RISK OF DEATH DUE TO PROJECTILE METAL SHRAPNEL IN EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT FROM THE AIRBAG CANISTER EXPLODING. NISSAN IS REFUSING TO ALLOW ANY AVENUE TO HAVE THE ISSUE FIXED LOCALLY OR TO MOVE THE VEHICLE TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP. NUMEROUS AND REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO GET THIS ISSUE RESOLVED WITH NISSAN HAVE LEAD NOWHERE. AT EVERY NEW PHONE CALL ALL PRIOR INFORMATION HAS BEEN LOST AND THE ISSUE MUST BE RE-EXPLAINED. I AM INEVITABLY TOLD THEY WILL LOOK MORE INTO AND PROMISE TO GET BACK TO ME, OUT OF 3 CALLS TO NISSAN DIRECTLY AND APPROXIMATELY 10+ CALLS TO THE COMPANY HANDLING THE RECALL, I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE A SINGLE CALL BACK. I DO NOT WISH TO DIE IN A CAR ACCIDENT, I AM WILLING TO PAY FOR THE PART AND LABOR TO BE COMPLETED LOCALLY. ANY ASSISTANCE IN GETTING NISSAN TO ALLOW MY CAR TO BE FIXED SO IT IS NO LONGER AT RISK OF THE AIRBAG CANISTER EXPLODING AND INJURING MYSELF AND PASSENGERS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANK YOU.

- Summary: FOR MANY YEARS*, THE EXHAUST FROM MY NISSAN VERSA HAS MADE ME SICK (NAUSEOUS AND HEADACHES) SIMILAR TO HOW VW EXHAUST WOULD MAKE ME SICK. I AM CONCERNED THAT NISSAN VEHICLES MAY BE CHEATING ON INSPECTIONS CHECKS LIKE VW WAS DOING. EXHAUST FROM MANY OTHER VEHICLES MAY SMELL, BUT THIS PARTICULAR EXHAUST IS SICKENING. OUR VEHICLE PASSES EMISSION STANDARDS FOR MD EACH YEAR AND WE ALWAYS KEEP IT WELL MAINTAINED. SO AGAIN, I AM CONCERNED THEY HAVE SOFTWARE THAT WORKS TO FOOL EMISSIONS TESTING BY CHANGING THE EXHAUST ALLOWED WHEN HOOKED UP TO AN EMISSIONS TESTING COMPUTER. FOR A POINT OF REFERENCE, MY PARENTS OWN A 23 YEAR OLD FORD EXPLORER (ALSO WELL MAINTAINED) WHOSE EXHAUST DOES NOT CAUSE ME SICKNESS. THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING THIS ISSUE! *THE FORM IS REQUIRING A SINGLE DATE, BUT THIS HAS BEEN CONTINUOUSLY MAKING ME SICK EACH TIME WE RUN THE VEHICLE (IT DOES NOT ABATE WITH MILEAGE OR WEATHER CONDITIONS) SINCE 2011-2012.

I bought this car used with around 32000 miles. I did a lot of research before purchasing and decided this was the best choice for me. I am thrilled with its performance. I made a long road trip and the comfort level was the same as a full-size car. The gas mileage was around 28 miles per gallon. I love everything about this car.

This car has been so reliable for us! We bought it brand new in Georgia and have since moved to Ohio, so we've experienced all kinds of weather conditions. We've used it for everything from moving to driving people around town, for work, and for play. Although we did have to replace the air conditioning compressor this summer and just had the exhaust system redone, those have been the only major maintenance items. I absolutely love my Versa!

I'm glad to hear that you've had a positive experience with your 2009 Nissan Versa! It's great that you've been following the recommended maintenance schedule and have had no problems. It sounds like you've been taking good care of it by having the tires replaced at 82,000 miles and getting the brakes checked every 6,000 miles. It's always reassuring to have a reliable car that serves us well. I understand that losing hub caps can be frustrating, but it's good to hear that it's only a minor issue. Thank you for sharing your experience with me!

I've owned Sentras and Maximas before, and I must say that the fit and finish on this car is quite similar to a Sentra. The engine is slightly more powerful than the Honda Fit or the Kia Rio5, and the seats are much more spacious and comfortable than the other two. The acceleration is smooth and quiet without any engine laboring, and the handling is surprisingly nice with a tight turn radius. Although the Versa is not a sports car, it's still fun to drive and saves a lot of money on gas. The seats are spacious and comfortable, providing ample head and legroom. Additionally, there are plenty of cup holders and power plugs. Overall, the Versa is a great, inexpensive, and roomy little car.

I purchased the 1.6 base model and was able to take advantage of the cash for clunkers deal, bringing my out of pocket cost to $5400 plus tax. One of the best things about this car is that I don't have to worry about a loan and it comes with a 3-year warranty. I mainly use it for commuting and running errands around town, and so far it has met my expectations. The car handles well in the city and has good pick up, making it a great utilitarian option. My goal is to keep the total cost of ownership as low as possible, just like I did with my previous car.

Despite the initial issues with the car, I have taken the necessary steps to address the problems and have been working diligently to resolve the situation. The car is still cute and economic, averaging about 27-33mph. I am confident that the arbitration process with BBB AUTOLINE will lead to a satisfactory resolution.

The car may have been affordable, but unfortunately it has not held up well. I have had to spend almost $3k fixing various issues in the last 6 months alone, which has been quite frustrating. Based on my experience, I would not recommend purchasing this car again.

I had a 2009 Nissan Versa SL with the manual transmission. Although it had some downsides, I found it to be a reliable and tough car. The seats were comfortable and it was a great car to beat on without feeling any remorse. However, it was quite loud inside and everything rattled or vibrated. The engine felt frantic at highway speeds and the steering was laughably numb. The brakes were not the best and the handling was comically bad. The car was also lacking in features such as ABS and TC. The headlights and stereo were not the best either. Additionally, the styling was not to my taste. Overall, it was a basic transportation car.

The CVT transmission had an issue around 96k miles, but it was covered under warranty and fixed. Unfortunately, there was an incident where the engine came loose while driving, which was a very concerning experience. Despite attempts to resolve the issue with both corporate and the dealership, responsibility was not taken. This experience has left a negative impression and I am unlikely to consider Nissan for future purchases.

I've owned this car for 5 months and I really like the cabin space. It's as large as some mid-sized cars and the engine is very peppy, making it easy to get on the highway. However, it could use some additional storage beyond the glove box and the armrest is woefully inadequate. With that said, I have yet to achieve gas mileage north of 30 mpg and the seats are very firm. Overall, it's a good car, but what I really love is the CVT transmission. It's a big departure from small cars and the way it pulls through the gears seamlessly is impressive.
