- Summary: The car was having slow acceleration, horrid loud noises for awhile but no issues were found during checks but parts were replaced to try and troubleshoot but the sound and idle and running issues still persisted. The first sign of severe major issue was when the car was started it jolted forward while still in park in a first start up. Turned off the car and restarted it and it repeated the same action and then I put the car into reverse but it wouldn't reverse. Took the car to my local Firestone and they said it had an internal transmission problem and I should take it back to the dealership. Within the month I went to the dealership in person and explained the issue and they said there wasn't a recall or service call for my car. That I'd have to pay for repairs and my car wasn't under warranty since the extra service plan I purchased already ran out. While coming home from work my car started to shudder and jolt and wasn't accelerating properly. I stopped at a gas station to see if the car smelled odd and to refuel. It started up but repeated jolting shudder and less than a mile down the road the car suddenly slowed by itself and stopped accelerating. I had to hook slide to the side of the road. I put the car in park and accelerated the engine responded. So I turned off the car and restarted put it in drive after multiple tries I got it to finally accelerate. Less than half a mile down the road as the car was going downhill the car started to shutter jolt again before coming to a complete stop at a light. No matter how long I waited it would not drive but would only reverse at that point. I had to contact family to help me push the car to the roadside and called a tow. The car currently sits in the driveway will start up and reverse but when attempting to accelerate sometimes it might drive for a few minutes before refusing to accelerate. I have the 2010 Nissan Versa SL hatchback with the CVT Xtronic transmission.

- Summary: Fuel pump failed with no notice while traveling on the interstate causing the engine to stop running. I was lucky that I was able to coast off the highway on to the shoulder. This occurred at night on a section of I-10 with a 75 MPH speed limit. If I had not been able to limp off the highway it would have been very dangerous. My Nissan Versa only has 75,000 miles and is well maintained. No warning lights or OBD codes were present before or after the failure. Replacing the fuel pump assembly fixed the problem.

- Summary: 12/27/2021 Nissan Headquarters call and a case number 45372007 given on12/21/21 after speaking with a Sandra while at the Nissan repair location in Rivergate/Madison, TN. call from Nathaniel from Nissan Headquarters in Franklin, TN regarding air bag system. Replacement as part of recall warning light complaint and case filed. Air bag warning light came on 12/19/21, diagnostic 12/21/21 air bag control system needed replacement. Clock spring was replaced October 2019, 15 months after recall issues on Takata air bag system and full replacement completed 7/26/2018. Nissan cannot cover costs due to mileage on car. I noted wanting to have this on record that these issues began after the recall on air bags and replacement in 2018. 615-725-7000 12/31/21 car air bag issue repaired then air bag light would pop on 2 more times, once in January 2022 in which they said they forgot to ‘clear codes” and then in February 2022 when other issues surfaced, another part replaced. Then light pops on again 3/15/2022 and I notified the service advisor with Nissan who’d been helping me and took the car in the following week.I have already paid for repairs to the clock spring in October 2019 between $530-$600 and the repair done 12/31/21 totaling over $1000 which includes the diagnostic fee, parts and labor. $1600 is just the bare minimum of what's been paid out.3/30/2022: Nissan Versa 2010 was dropped off again at Nissan of Rivergate/Hayes Nissan due to air bag warning light coming on again. They are running another diagnostic. This has been a continual and consistent issue since the air bag recall and replacement in July 2018. I have paid for the clock spring to be replaced October 2019 and now other parts and many trips to this Nissan for a “fix.” Which now they are saying I may have to possibly pay again. This is unacceptable and seems that there may be other consumers dealing with this issue. Something is wrong with this recall and replacement causing these issues of safety.

This again was never an issue until the air bag recall and replacement of 2018. Your tracking number assigned by NHTSA for this issue is 11448887. Air bag recall and replacement July 2018. Repaired in October 2019 after air bag light came back on: clock spring replaced, I paid out of pocket. 2021 air bag light on again: whole other issue with air bag system, I paid out of pocket again. And I have to let them know to make sure parts are put back correctly. Some areas appear to be cracked near windshield due to the work, but I know that will be hard to prove with them. Air bag light came back on-again January 2022, they initially said it was that they didn't reset the sensors. Took car back, they reset. 2/3/22 air bag light came on again now a new part is being worked on 2/28/22. This has been an issue with the airg bag recall.

THE STEERING WHEEL NUT WAS ABLE TO BE SPUN WITH ONE FINGER DURING THE INSPECTION. BOTH FINDINGS WERE NOT CONSISTENT WITH THE EXPECTED CRASH DAMAGE GIVEN THE CRASH SEQUENCE. - Summary: Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain air bag inflator replacement service parts that may have been installed as part of a theft or collision repair. The parts include certain passenger-side air bag inflators designed to fit Infiniti 2002-2003 QX4, 2006-2010 M35 and M45; Nissan 2001-2003 Maxima, 2002-2006 Sentra, and both driver and passenger-side inflators designed to fit 2007-2012 Versa Sedan and Versa Hatchback vehicles. Please see Nissan's recall report for the specific part numbers. These replacement inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, temperature and temperature cycling.
- Consequence: An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
- Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the inflators as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 14, 2022. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 1-800-867-7669.

The vehicles are equipped with non-desiccated, frontal passenger air bag inflators containing phase stabilized ammonium nitrate (PSAN) propellant that were used as interim remedy parts for previous Takata recalls. These inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures, and high temperature cycling.
- Consequence: An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
- Remedy: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front passenger air bag inflators with alternate desiccated inflators, free of charge. The recall began February 12, 2020. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 888-737-9511 or Infiniti customer service at 888-810-3715.

- Summary: Nissan (Nissan North America, Inc.) is recalling certain model year 2007-2012 Nissan Versa vehicles manufactured May 8, 2006, to November 12, 2012, that were sold or ever registered in the District of Columbia, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin. Road salt may corrode the front coil springs, possibly resulting in the coil springs fracturing.
- Consequence: If a front coil spring fractures, it may contact the tire, possibly puncturing it, increasing the risk of a crash.

- Consequence: OVERHEATED BATTERIES COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.
- Remedy: NISSAN WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND THE REPAIRS WILL BE PERFORMED BY GARMIN TECHNICIANS BY REPLACING THE BATTERY AND INSERTING A SPACER ON TOP OF THE BATTERY FREE OF CHARGE. Only complaint about this car is its interior upholstery. Everything sticks to it, therefore it is constantly covered with fibers from clothing and whatever else is flying in the air. Vacuuming helps, but have to work really hard to remove particles from upholstery. Even the upholstery itself seems to fluff up when it's vacuumed. The seats are very soft and comfortable but impossible to keep clean. Other than this complaint, this car is very nice.

The car is definitely worth the money! It has plenty of power to accelerate onto the interstate without any worries. The A/C cools the car quickly and the stereo has great bass and sound quality. The car is also very quiet, with no wind noises up to 80 mph. It is a lightweight car, so be prepared when an eighteen wheeler flies by. However, any compact car will give you the same feeling of being blown off the road. Although I wish the rear seat on my sedan folded down, it does have a lot of trunk space. The blind spots and small quarter glasses on the front doors may take some getting used to. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly and the 1.8L engine has noticeable injector noise or valve noise when accelerating hard. Overall, I would definitely buy this car again and again, especially considering its great gas mileage!

I bought this car used and it's been a great experience so far! Despite having 40k miles on it, it looks and feels brand new (kudos to the previous owner!). It's a huge step up from my old SUV, which was clumsy and a gas hog. This car is like a toy for me - it zips when I need it to, stops on a dime, and handles corners like a champ. Plus, it's full of features that make driving a pleasure. All in all, I think this car is an excellent value for the price!

We purchased our 2010 Versa in April 2010. It is a great car with excellent gas mileage. However, we have been experiencing an issue with the brakes squeaking, despite the car having less than 10,000 miles on it. We have taken it to the dealer several times for repairs, but the issue persists. We are confident that the dealer will be able to resolve this issue soon.

I bought this car to replace my two door Honda Civic. So far, it's been great! It's spacious, fun to drive, and everything I was hoping for. I'm not sure yet about the gas mileage, but it seems to be what I expected. The front seat has plenty of room, and the keyless ignition and other features on the premium package are awesome!

This car is perfect for me, even though I have low standards. My base model has no extras whatsoever, but it has unbelievable space. I'm 6' tall and have three inches of extra headroom, even in the back. However, the height of the car can be pushed around by semis, so I wouldn't recommend passing anyone on the highway. Despite this, the sheet metal must be aluminum, which all adds up to an impressive 39 MPG for me! While this car may not turn any heads, it is an incredibly reliable and fuel-efficient commuter. I have putted along at 57 MPH for 200,000 miles (and still going) and am completely satisfied with this little car. Although I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to anyone I know, it has served me well.

I made a major mistake in purchasing this car. It has poor fuel economy, uncomfortable to drive, rattles badly, and is not competitively priced compared to other small sedans. In the future, I will only consider purchasing a Toyota or a Chevy.

We purchased this car about two months ago with 4200 miles on it. It was previously used as a dealership car. Unfortunately, we had to take it to the shop to have the engine replaced after it reached 8500 miles. When we first got the car, I noticed the number of RPM the engine turned, so I decided to switch to full synthetic Mobil1 5/30. After driving for 2900 miles, my roommate informed me that the car was ticking. I checked the oil stick and found that there was no oil left. Now, after two weeks and a new engine, I'm still in a rental car because they can't get the new engine to run properly. However, I'm hopeful that it will be fixed soon. Despite these issues, the car has awesome gas mileage and is very comfortable. I just hope there are no more problems after this! Best regards.

The car is currently only designed to be used with an iPod, but it would be great if it could be updated to support a universal USB drive for all other devices. The manufacturer claims an average of 28 mpg for local driving and 34 mpg for freeway driving, but during my test, I only achieved 26.43 mpg on the freeway. Additionally, the car seat latch system is missing from building 2 on the seat back. Interestingly, I found that I can use my house key to open the door with the alarm system on without any noise! The design of the small backseat window is too big, and if you close the first roll window and open the second roll window while driving next to the airport for 2 minutes, you will feel a huge pressure and it will be hard to breathe. The wind comes in and reflects from back to front, which is not ideal.
