2013 Nissan Versa problems
Nissan Versa is an automobile nameplate used by the Japanese manufacturer Nissan in the Americas for the following models:
According to a Nissan press release in 2008, "versa" is short for "versatile space" meant to imply the spaciousness of the interior and configurable cargo arrangements. The Versa is one of the few remaining subcompact cars left on sale in the North American market, with most automakers dropping small cars from their lineups to focus on crossovers and SUVs.

- Heater system issues: Some Versa models experience heater system problems, with the heater core getting clogged and requiring replacement around 80,000 miles.

- Automatic transmission issues: Some Versa owners have reported problems with the automatic transmission, where the car's RPMs increase, but the speed does not, which can be a safety concern .
- Canister Vent Control Valve (P0442, P0455, P0456): This issue is related to the Evaporative Emission Control System (EVAP) and can cause the Check Engine Light to come on .
- Ignition cylinder problems: Some owners have reported issues with the ignition cylinder, which can make it difficult to turn the key and start the car .
- Axle click: This is a common problem in many Nissan models, including the Versa, and can be caused by a loose or damaged CV axle nut .

- Summary: My Transmission was replaced in 2016 at 60K miles. 3 years after the car was bought brand new. As of today the car has 114K miles. September 9, 2022 my transmission completely shut down on me. Also the check engine like came on. I have had the car only a year and the problem just came about. Im worried and concerned that the transmission should have not got out this quick for me. And also concerned as to why the original owner had the same transmission problem as me and had to replace after 3 years! I got in my car Sep 9 , 2022 and drove about 20 minutes and the car started jerking forward and the RPMs were going crazy moving so fast. I turned around to head back home, i got on the bridge and was driving about 50/55mph. The car started decreasing in speed all the way to 0. Turned the car off and tried to continue to make my way back home. I had to take back streets home and every time I stopped at a red light or stop sign the car would take a second to drive off after. I brought the car to a mechanic who told me my transmission went out. Since the car transmission was last replaced only 54,000 miles have been put on the car. The fuel for the transmission was dark.

- VIN: 3N1CN7AP2DL
- Components: POWER TRAIN
- Summary: My 2013 Nissan Versa has 80,000 miles. Since the car had 72,000 the transmission started to lurch forward while coming to a stop. This lurch has pushed me out into traffic on at least 5 times. As you come to a stop, and you think you are stopping it lunges forward placing others at serious risk. I must be very cautious when approaching sidewalks where pedestrians may be as well as oncoming traffic. The transmission also stalls and loses power when trying to accelerate. When I pull out sometimes the car does not move and will hesitate before it goes. This is extremely dangerous when pulling into oncoming traffic. The transmission "CVT" is a danger to people and should be replaced.

We had a vehicle right on our bumper. The truck that had trouble changing lanes bearing down on us vehicle began to gain power and then lost it again. Once there was room we got over onto open shoulder (barely in time to avoid being absolutely crushed by this truck) we pulled over. Towed to a repair shop we learned the transmission had failed around 40mph to 50mph during acceleration. It was inspected by an ASE technician. Worse, we found out from the shop this happens to many transmissions in this same vehicle. This is scary.

The car handles and rides very nicely, which is surprising given that I have the base model with manual transmission. The car shifts like butter and the engine delivers good power. The cabin and trunk space are excellent, and the controls are well-placed and easy to use. The steering wheel feels great in the hand, and the seats are very comfortable and supportive, with the added bonus of a height-adjustable driver's seat. Getting in and out of the car is a breeze, and the price point of the base model cannot be challenged by any car on the market. Overall, I think this car is going to do very well.

I purchased this vehicle about 10 days ago and I'm really happy with it so far. While it's not a race or luxury car by any means, it's perfect for someone like me who needs affordable transportation for commuting and occasionally transporting a family of four, all while getting excellent MPG. I highly recommend it!

The car has some minor drawbacks, such as the lack of storage space for the driver to access items like the center console and no place for glasses. The cup holders are placed oddly, too far up and the others too far back. Additionally, there is no inside trunk release. However, I was able to find a solution by purchasing a center console off eBay for $45, which works perfectly and matches the car's interior. Although the car can be a bit squirrely on the freeway in windy conditions and rides a little rougher than expected for a new car, I still like it overall. In fact, one of my favorite features is [insert favorite feature here].

Hi there! I noticed that you're interested in the Nissan Versa, and I'd be happy to share my experience with you. I've actually owned two Versa cars in the past. The first one was a 2007 hatchback model, and the second one was a 2013 red sedan with alloy wheels. I've had the 2013 model for 6.5 years now, and it's been a great little car to drive around town and on the highway. The gas mileage is outstanding, averaging 35 mpg and 40 mpg on the highway. While it may take a few extra seconds to merge into traffic, I've found that it's not a big issue - you just need to allow a little extra time. I did have to buy new tires last year (2018), but other than that, I haven't had to spend much extra money on it - just regular oil changes. I hope this helps! By the way, I'm not sure why you're asking about my weight - I no longer own this car. Let me know if you have any other questions!

The Nissan Versa is exactly what I was looking for - extremely roomy with high sitting seats that allow me to slide in and out like an SUV without the gas guzzling. It is also very economical. Although there are a few cons, such as a 'ping' when running the AC and a need for more leg room, I still love this car. The seats are extremely comfortable and the Bluetooth is outstanding. Overall, it drives very well and feels solid for an economical car. I highly recommend it!

I purchased this car in October of 2013 with 8,500 miles on it. It was a loaner vehicle that the dealership used, so I knew it was in great shape. At 30,000 miles, the heat shield started coming apart, which cost me $500 to replace. At 40,000 miles, new brakes were needed, which is normal. However, I was surprised to find out that the rear brakes were drum brakes. Fast forward to 50,000 miles, the serpentine belt snapped, which cost me $650 to replace. Finally, at 72,000 miles, my transmission started going bad. At first, it started with a whining at low RPMs, then it had a hard time going into reverse, and on multiple occasions, it would disengage from drive, and the car had to be turned off and started again. When I was on the freeway, the car completely lost all power and stalled, but thankfully, I was able to get over to the shoulder. I had the car towed to Nissan, where it was determined that the transmission had failed, but they couldn't figure out why because the transmission oil was good and it was at normal levels. I was quoted $4,000 to replace the transmission, and I was very frustrated with a bad transmission on a four-year-old car. However, after explaining my situation to Nissan USA, they covered $3,600 of the expenses. It took about three weeks to get the car back, as there was only one technician in the entire shop who knew how to drop a CVT and put in a new one. I've had the car back for a while now, and unfortunately, the whining has come back, and the car is having a hard time going into reverse. I am planning to trade this car in as soon as I can get the negative equity paid off on it.Hey there! Just wanted to let you know that the car will be going back into the shop on Tuesday. The transmission has a year warranty on it, so we're covered! :)

I have the basic model of the Versa and I must say, for the price, it offers great value. The car is surprisingly spacious and the looks are decent. While driving, it has enough power to get you where you need to go, but it's important to take it easy on the road as it can be affected by strong winds. Unfortunately, my car has had some reliability issues. However, I am grateful for the warranty as it has covered the cost of four significant mechanical problems in less than 18,000 miles. These issues included a loose muffler shield, damaged sway bar links, malfunctioning valve, and foggy headlight.

I wanted to share my experience with the 2012 Nissan Versa Sedan, specifically the base model 1.6S MT with 5 speed manual transmission. Unfortunately, there seems to be a lot of misinformation out there about this model. I had to order the car since it wasn't in stock, which took about 2 months, but it was definitely worth the wait. If you're interested in the stripped down version of the car, I recommend going to the dealership and ordering it, even though dealers are hesitant to stock the manual transmission model. Overall, I highly recommend the Versa for its great value and quality on a budget. It's a fantastic car at a very reasonable price.

Hi there! I wanted to share my experience with my new Nissan Versa. Recently, while driving at 30 miles an hour, I encountered an issue where my computer went off and I couldn't use the brakes. It was quite scary, but thankfully I was able to avoid an accident. I reached out to Nissan and Lokey of Clearwater to express my concerns about the safety of the car. They initially had trouble identifying the issue, but eventually fixed the ABS chip and recalibrated the computer. However, a week later, I experienced another scary incident where the brakes were barely stopping the car at 50 mph. I contacted Nissan again, but unfortunately they were unable to help me. They did fix the master cylinder, but I still feel quite unsafe driving the car. I just wanted to share my story and hope that Nissan can address these safety concerns. Thanks for listening!

I understand your experience with the Versa has been uncomfortable. It seems like the car has not met your expectations. I appreciate your honesty in sharing your thoughts about the car's performance. It's great to hear that the car has good MPG's, but I can understand how the loudness and uncomfortable seats can make long trips challenging. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
