I'm so glad I bought this van! It's been exceptional, even with over 251,000 miles on it.

Passenger van, never carry any cargo. 42k miles it is already on the 3rd sets of tires. I had continental and Michelin tires. Each With 50k+ miles ratings. No tires last more than 20k on this van. All dealers maintained and rotating wheels regularly. Now it has a recall on the wrong specification of tires installed from manufacturers. the newer model use 235 vs 225 on older model.

I bought my 2019 Metris with 4,700 miles without doing much research. It reminded me of the Chevy Astro vans I previously owned and had been unable to purchase again. So, I negotiated a deal and drove it off the lot within hours of first seeing it. As of now, I'm up to 26,000 miles without any problems. I have had to deal with 3 recall notices, but nothing has been a major problem and hasn't cost me a cent. However, the expected maintenance costs and many of the horror stories I've read online have led me to look into purchasing something other than a Mercedes. I'll miss the vehicle because it's my hotel when I take weekend trips, but I won't miss having to invest in high priced 91-92 octane gas and the costly maintenance issues I suspect will begin appearing in short order. I wish GM would reintroduce the amazingly dependable Astrovan.

I purchased this van brand new in May of 2017. As a medical courier, I frequently transported large, heavy loads, with a driving split of 60% highway and 40% city. I diligently followed all maintenance recommendations, and even after being retired for nearly two years, this vehicle has an impressive 253,000 miles on the odometer. The oil was changed every 15,000 miles (and once a year since retiring), and the only repairs needed were a fuel vapor canister and a new seal on the oil pan. Everything else has been regular maintenance. The brakes need replacing at 80 to 90 thousand mile intervals, and I have often hauled up to and over 2,500 lbs. Since new, my fuel mileage has averaged between 25-26 MPG (the fuel mileage on the van always shows I get a bit more, but the app I use does the actual math for accurate readings). I am extremely pleased with this vehicle. It has a very tight turning radius and is easy to maneuver in tight spots. I love driving this van and always feel very comfortable. It feels like home! As of 2023, I have driven it up to 263,000 miles. Last summer, I took a trip from Oregon to Idaho, Utah, and Wyoming, and averaged 28.5 mpg for the 2273 mile trip. I am taking it to the dealer next week as it appears that a new thermostat is needed. When it is cold early in the day, it heats up just fine, but as soon as I start going downhill the temp needle drops. At this mileage, I accept that a replacement may be warranted. This is still the most trouble-free vehicle I have ever owned, and I hope it keeps rolling for a few more years. I do not drive like I'm racing, I go close to the speed limit and drive carefully - (much different than when I was 40+ years ago!)

This vehicle is perfect for long trips, as it has ample space for luggage, two dogs, and two cats. It is also great for moving, as it can accommodate beds, sofas, and over 50 boxes. Additionally, it is ideal for yard care. Furthermore, it performs well in rainy conditions, as it is generally above road spray.

The Metris may not be the best option for everyone. I have personally experienced some issues with my own vehicle. It may not be fair to compare it directly to Chevrolet and Ford. Hi there! We've been using our Metris cargo van for our business, driving it about 3 days a week and covering 47k miles so far. We usually carry around 400 lbs of cargo, which has been quite manageable. While we've had a few issues with the van, such as needing to replace the tires and aligning it a few times, we've been able to get them resolved. We did have to replace the strut bushing at 25k miles, and unfortunately, it's gone bad again now that it's out of warranty. We're also experiencing some issues with the A/C and wipers, but we're confident we'll be able to get them sorted out. We've found some helpful discussions on the Metris forum, and while the dealership has been less than helpful, we're grateful for any assistance we can get.
