2010 Lincoln Mkx problems
The Lincoln MKX is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV marketed and sold by the Lincoln brand of Ford Motor Company. Introduced in late 2006, the MKX ("X" stands for "crossover") is the first crossover SUV offered by the Lincoln brand. Initially the smallest Lincoln SUV, it has been slotted between the Lincoln Corsair and the Lincoln Aviator. It is the Lincoln counterpart of the Ford Edge crossover across both generations.
The first-generation MKX was produced from 2007 to 2015, based upon the CD3 platform. The second generation is based on the CD4 platform. Both generations of the MKX were manufactured at Oakville Assembly in Oakville, Ontario, Canada alongside the Ford Edge, Ford Flex, and Lincoln MKT.
As Lincoln phased out its use of "MK" model names, the MKX adopted the Lincoln Nautilus nameplate as part of a mid-cycle update in 2018 for the 2019 model year.

AIR BAGS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-05-12
- VIN: 2LMDJ6JC3AB
- Components: AIR BAGS
- Summary: I am satisfied with the help that the customer service assisted me with and that was getting my service moved up to September 26th from the original date of October 30th. But I am not satisfied with the remedy. I have received several written letters from Lincoln that go into detail of the recall on my car and as well they say and in BIG RED LETTERS ..DO NOT DRIVE YOUR CAR UNTIL REPAIRS ARE DONE. WELL, I should say that you see my 2010 Lincoln Mkx is my and only vehicle I own I can not just park it up and forget I have a life and a job because of no fault of my own that my one and only car urgently is needing repair to the factory installed air bags. Therefore I ask Lincoln to assist me with a rental until my car had been repaired. I do not feel safe DRIVING MY CAR.Letter's I have on hand from Lincoln plainly stating DO NOT DRIVE. I am upset Lincoln ortrays they care so much to bombard me with all the recall letters and such but pretty much told me NO WE DONT DO RENTAL CARS So what I am to do??? I don't have rental coverage on my insurance. I couldn't afford it. So what choice do I have??? If I do die from their faulty air bags imploding on me atleast make sure my children and grandchildren knew I begged for a rental but Lincoln couldn't back me with that. I guess making luxury car's for so many years has not left them with much profit Seeing as how in a life or death situation brought on by their mistake they leave their customers to chance it because it cost to much for rentals to ensure their customers are kept safe until their car is serviced and safe to drive. They have no compassion for people is how I am feeling about this whole situation. Only covering themselves legally in the cheapest fix possible to avoid legal issues. Guess Lincoln owners are just numbers and dollar signs and not mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, aunt or uncles or grandparents that are loved and would be missed severely in the event of their death by a recalled air bag.

SERVICE BRAKES PROBLEM

- VIN: 2LMDJ8JCXAB
- Components: SERVICE BRAKES
- Summary: I was driving my 2010 Lincoln MKX in heavy traffic when the signal light turned red. When I pushed the brake to stop it was very stiff and I almost hit another vehicle. I could have been seriously injured if I had it another car because there is another safety recall on this vehicle relating to the driver airbag spewing shrapnel in a front end collision. I have had the recall notice regarding the air bag for almost a year already. Ford motor company deemed my vehicle safe to drive with this airbag issue. As it turns out, the brake booster bladder has a tear in it. I purchased the vehicle in 2020 and never was never sent a recall notice on the brake booster even though Ford Motor Company knew about it. According to what I have read online, Ford Motor decided that the recall was only good for a specific amount of time. How can that possibly be the case. This is a safety issue that should be covered for the life of the vehicle. Someone needs to do something about this before someone is seriously injured or killed.

These vehicles are equipped with air bag inflators assembled as part of the passenger frontal air bag modules, used as original equipment or replacement equipment (such as after a vehicle crash necessitating replacement of the original air bags), that may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, temperature and temperature cycling.
- Consequence: An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
- Remedy: Owners are advised not to drive their vehicles until the repair has been performed. Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the passenger frontal air bag inflator, free of charge. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 19S01.

I can tell you that I absolutely love my 2010 Lincoln MKX! It makes me feel so safe and comfortable, and the hands-free and GPS features have been a huge help. It's especially great on long trips. Just so you know, it's definitely not for sale - this car is a keeper!

Great vehicle! It's so nice to ride in and very comfortable. I highly recommend it, 100%!

I looked at several car models including the ML350, MDX, SRX, Q7 and the Edge. What ultimately convinced me to choose the MKX was its impressive features such as the Sync voice activation, the THX surround sound system and the vista moon roof (I opted for the 102A package.). Although I never thought I would buy a Lincoln at 34 (as I associate it with my Dad's old car), this new wave of Lincolns has definitely won me over. The THX sound in the MKX is even better than the Mark Kardon system in my previous Land Rover LR3. The only suggestions for improvement would be the addition of front parking sensors and a more intuitive way to access the iPod menu without having to say

I love this vehicle! I've been driving Saabs, but decided to switch to an American-made car. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The car is stylish and comfortable. I feel like I'm driving a luxury car that is still unique. It's been great!

Hello, I recently purchased a 2010 Lincoln MKX and have been experiencing some issues with the dual climate control air conditioning system. Unfortunately, the system does not seem to cool the vehicle as effectively as stated in the manual. I have had this issue confirmed by both the service manager at the Ganley dealership in Cleveland and a regional representative. According to them, the system is working within Ford's parameters. However, I am still experiencing some discomfort when driving in temperatures above 80 degrees. I would greatly appreciate any assistance you could provide in resolving this issue. Thank you!

I recently purchased the 2010 MKX and took it on a 1000 mile trip. While I enjoyed the ride, I did notice some issues with the leg room and the placement of the auto seat buttons. Additionally, the rear vents cannot be shut off which can be inconvenient. These are minor issues that can be easily addressed, and overall, I am satisfied with my purchase.

I own a 2010 Lincoln MKX. While it may not be the best vehicle I've ever owned, I can confidently say that it is not junk. With its unique features and comfortable ride, it is a solid choice for anyone in the market for an SUV.

The car is lovely, but unfortunately, the service provided by Lincoln is not up to par. If you are accustomed to the excellent service provided by other luxury car brands such as Toyota, Honda, Land Rover, BMW, Hyundai, etc., you may be disappointed with the service from Lincoln.
