Lincoln Mkx problems
The Lincoln MKX is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV marketed and sold by the Lincoln brand of Ford Motor Company. Introduced in late 2006, the MKX ("X" stands for "crossover") is the first crossover SUV offered by the Lincoln brand. Initially the smallest Lincoln SUV, it has been slotted between the Lincoln Corsair and the Lincoln Aviator. It is the Lincoln counterpart of the Ford Edge crossover across both generations.
The first-generation MKX was produced from 2007 to 2015, based upon the CD3 platform. The second generation is based on the CD4 platform. Both generations of the MKX were manufactured at Oakville Assembly in Oakville, Ontario, Canada alongside the Ford Edge, Ford Flex, and Lincoln MKT.
As Lincoln phased out its use of "MK" model names, the MKX adopted the Lincoln Nautilus nameplate as part of a mid-cycle update in 2018 for the 2019 model year.

- Summary: My 2007 Lincoln MKX had an SUA and within 10 feet totaled the front end when it was thrust into a cement building. This happened On [XXX] and the vehicle is available for inspection here in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. In 2010 Lincoln implemented an override device to the brake system knowing of the problem and there was no recall for vehicles prior to 2010. My safety was put at risk and that of others. If someone had been exiting the store or walking down the sidewalk they could have been killed. I am suffering with physical and mental problems as a result of this. Police report also states this was definitely a vehicle malfunction. There were no warning signs prior to the incident. WELL, I should say that you see my 2010 Lincoln Mkx is my and only vehicle I own I can not just park it up and forget I have a life and a job because of no fault of my own that my one and only car urgently is needing repair to the factory installed air bags. Therefore I ask Lincoln to assist me with a rental until my car had been repaired. I do not feel safe DRIVING MY CAR.Letter's I have on hand from Lincoln plainly stating DO NOT DRIVE. I am upset Lincoln ortrays they care so much to bombard me with all the recall letters and such but pretty much told me NO WE DONT DO RENTAL CARS So what I am to do??? I don't have rental coverage on my insurance. I couldn't afford it. So what choice do I have??? If I do die from their faulty air bags imploding on me atleast make sure my children and grandchildren knew I begged for a rental but Lincoln couldn't back me with that. I guess making luxury car's for so many years has not left them with much profit Seeing as how in a life or death situation brought on by their mistake they leave their customers to chance it because it cost to much for rentals to ensure their customers are kept safe until their car is serviced and safe to drive. They have no compassion for people is how I am feeling about this whole situation. Only covering themselves legally in the cheapest fix possible to avoid legal issues. Guess Lincoln owners are just numbers and dollar signs and not mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, aunt or uncles or grandparents that are loved and would be missed severely in the event of their death by a recalled air bag.

- Summary: My 2007 Lincoln MKX was in Drive with the brake depressed waiting to back up into a traffic lane from an angled parking space in front of a small shop in our historic downtown area. Suddenly, the vehicle accelerated forward at a high rate of speed jumping the shallow curb and slamming into the cement foundation of the store. Continuing to depress the brakes made no difference in stopping the jarring unintended forward motion. The speed moving forward was so high that in the 10-12 feet from the curb to the store entrance the impact demolished the entire front of the vehicle even bending the front axels. The airbags did not deploy at all. The witness interviewed, reported loud screeching tires as her back was to the scene during the collision. Local PD, EMS and Fire all responded, with a full police report filed. It was extremely fortunate no person was either on the sidewalk or in the entrance to the storefront. My injuries included severe bruising to the right side of my neck, as well as a hematoma on my right tibia and an oblique fracture to bones in my right foot. There were no passengers in the car with me. The accident, and extreme concern over the malfunction of the vehicle allowing it to take control away from myself as the driver, has been reported to Ford Lincoln and a claim number established. My insurance company took possession of the vehicle from the tow lot after three days after determining it was a total loss. To reiterate, there was no warning at all before the incident. I was simply waiting for traffic to clear, so I could put the vehicle from Drive into Reverse and pull out of the parking space.

Every time this happens I risk an accident. Even though the brake booster is covered by extended warranty, because Lincoln knows about this problem, I still have to pay for brakes and other cost. - Summary: In June 2024, i received a letter dated March of 2024 for a Customer Satisfaction Program 13N02 that ended before i had a chance to take my vehicle into the repair shop to have this item fixed. Actually, i received the letter past the date that it could qualify for the repair as it was 10 years from the original warranty or 150,000 miles. My original warranty start date was December 2013. So they sent the "Customer Satisfaction Program notice 13N02" After the date it could be repaired. I called the dealership anyway, despite their error, to see if they may want to fix this Spongy Break Pedal anyway since they had messed up their mailing date. (Shultz Lincoln in Wexford, PA) They declined and told me they would be happy to look at it for a low fee of $180.00. I told them they should do it for free. I then called Lincoln directly where i spoke with a very nice gentleman. He looked through every possible scenario and decided that i was not able to get it fixed under the program. There really should be some type of law disallowing them to send out post dated letters knowing very well that they were not going to fix it because it was past the date of repair. My brake pedal hits the floor when i try to stop and if i do not push on the pedal hard enough to brake without the booster kicking in, i bump into things. Solution, i have attached a 2 channel dash cam to the vehicle with a live feed posted to a server in order to document my death caused by Lincoln. I have instructed my attorneys to release the feed upon my death and have authorized a law suit in my name. if won, they have been told to distribute the money to all of the homeless people that the Lincoln Executives drive past with their pocket tight and windows up every day on their way to work. This should be a crime. They should fix their safety issues, they should not be allowed to send out notices offering to pay for repairs that they do not plan on repairing. Also, they could spare a dollar for the Homeless

Great car! I really enjoyed the drive and the tech features were nice. However, there was a glitch with the radio antenna. It turns out that Lincoln received a series of defective ones for the MKX from 2011 forward. Fortunately, it was finally fixed by replacing the defective one with an antenna from the Edge - same part numbers but different. During the final replacement, I drove a 2013 model and unfortunately, its antenna was worse.

Just got the 2011 model after driving 48,500 miles on my 2009. I'm happy to report that the new one has more power, is quieter, and has improved technology. I absolutely love the comfortable ride, especially since I drive 600-700 miles per week. The new model also has better materials, which is a nice improvement from the previous model. The new look is also very nice. I've owned a Lexus RX, Highlander, and Grand Cherokee in the past, but the MKX blows them all away. I had no issues with the 2009 in bad weather, so I have no reason to think the 2011 will be any different. I highly recommend it!

I purchased this vehicle last April and have driven about 6K miles on it. As someone who has owned several SUVs, I can confidently say that this is one of the best. It is impressively quiet and makes for a great highway car. I opted for the Adaptive Cruise Control and it has proven to be a super safe option that makes long highway trips a breeze. In terms of fuel efficiency, I've been getting high teens around town and 22-24 on trips, which is great. The side safety light indicators in the exterior rear view mirrors are a fantastic feature. Additionally, the front seats are quite comfortable and the Heated-A/C option is a great addition. While the insync system takes some time to learn, it is very functional. However, I do think that it could be made easier with fewer steps and more buttons. As for the online travel info (weather, road delays), it's just okay and the value is questionable.

What a lovely car! The interior is so attractive and the ride is incredibly smooth and quiet. The controls are also very easy to operate. Plus, the interior is roomy and has excellent storage. The materials used are also very nice.

The interior is stunning and incredibly comfortable, especially with the massaging front seats. All of the options are very helpful and easy to use. It's important to note that some previous negative reviews were written by strange people, and Lincoln dealerships are actually rated at the top of the list for customer satisfaction and service in the country. I've driven 23,000 miles and have enjoyed every minute of it. The 360 degree cameras, cross traffic warning, line control, adaptive cruise control, and huge variety of vehicle and driver assist information are all awesome features. There are a couple of minor things that bother me, such as the seat memory always reverting back to the primary setting, which belongs to my wife, and the foot operation of the rear hatch cannot be disabled, causing me to bump my head a couple of times as the hatch started to close unexpectedly. However, these are manageable issues and do not detract from the overall excellence of this car. As a test engineer who has driven practically every car in the world, I can confidently say that this is probably the best car I've ever driven. One more thing to note: HANKOOK tires are not very good and I had to replace them at 20,000 miles. Unfortunately, Hankook does not provide any warranty after one year of usage, so it's best to replace them as soon as possible or avoid buying a vehicle with Hankook tires in the first place to avoid any trouble on the road. I now have 35,000 miles on the car and still enjoy every minute of driving it. I have no complaints and nothing is wrong with the car, I just change the oil and go again. There have been a couple of recalls, but they probably don't affect my car as I haven't received a letter to go to the dealer and perform an update.

Lincoln is experiencing a shortage of new parts for their new autos, which has caused some inconvenience for their customers. Unfortunately, this affected my 2018 MKX right front headlight, which was damaged on October 26, 2018. Despite my lease payment of $752 a month, Lincoln was unable to provide me with a new headlight until January 11th, 2019, as no headlights were available in the United States. However, I am pleased to report that I have since been assisted by a new advocate who has been able to get a headlight on the way and compensate me for most of my down time. Although I have not yet received any compensation, I have faith in her. While this experience has been frustrating, I am confident that Lincoln will take the necessary steps to improve their service and prevent similar issues from occurring in the future. As a loyal customer, I hope to continue my relationship with Lincoln and look forward to a positive experience going forward.

I've owned this car for almost a year now and unfortunately, I've had to take it in for service and repairs more times than any of the 15+ cars I've owned in the past. However, I must say that the driver's seat is absolutely spectacular and the other features are great when they're working properly. The engineering and design could use some improvement, but the electronics are the main issue as they tend to be unreliable. The dashboard is not the best and the display can be difficult to read when the sun is shining. The pushbuttons are not well placed and the pushbutton Start/stop function can be unsafe, as the engine can suddenly stop while driving. The front seats are surrounded by the doors and a large, high center console, which may not be ideal for those who prefer better visibility of their surroundings. If you prefer black interiors, then you'll be happier than those who prefer lighter toned interiors, as tan or other lighter toned interiors are not as common.

The vehicle has some great features, such as very comfortable heated and cooled memory front seats that are especially accommodating for my handicapped wife. Additionally, the vehicle has a sleek appearance that often receives compliments from others. The cruise control is also very reliable, keeping you within a few mph of your desired speed whether going up or down grades. The back-up camera is also a helpful feature. However, there are some downsides to the vehicle. The GPS system is not user-friendly and often takes you on routes that are miles out of the way. Additionally, the touch screen has some issues, such as not responding when you try to return to your current location on the route. There are also some expensive quirks, such as the check engine light, which can be costly to fix. Even with the full warranty, the dealership charges $100 to use it, and repairs are often not covered. Furthermore, the vehicle has had some electronic problems, such as the passenger door handle needing to be replaced and the 'Passenger Door Ajar' warning light coming on even when the door is not open. Despite these issues, the vehicle still has some great features that make it a comfortable and enjoyable ride.I understand that this is a common problem. The car seems to have some issues, particularly with the locking mechanism, which I believe is part of the first recall. While the technology of the car is impressive, there are some problems with the Bluetooth syncing, navigation, and rear camera. Lincoln's temporary fix of disconnecting the car battery for ten minutes to reset the system has only lasted about 5 days at most, and the promised permanent fix has been delayed twice now. Unfortunately, customer service at both Ford and the dealership has been lacking. Overall, it's been a frustrating experience.
