2008 Lincoln Mark lt problems

The Lincoln Mark LT is a luxury pickup truck manufactured and marketed by Ford's Lincoln division. Having gone on sale in January 2005 for the 2006 model year, the Mark LT was essentially a badge engineered, luxury-trimmed variant of the Ford F-150 truck — and a successor to the failed 2002-only Lincoln Blackwood. The Mark LT was manufactured at Ford's River Rouge Plant in Dearborn, Michigan, and at the Ford Cuautitlan plant in Cuautitlán, Mexico, on the same lines as the closely related Ford F-150.

The Mark LT is based on the Ford F-150 pickup truck. It uses the same 330-cubic-inch, 300 hp (224 kW; 304 PS) 5.4 L Triton V8 and has four doors. The Mark LT also had optional all-wheel drive.

Lincoln had hoped to sell 13,000 Mark LT's annually in the United States. The Mark LT was more successful than the Blackwood in its first year of sales with 10,274 sold in the first calendar year of sales (February 2005 through February 2006). The 2006 Mark LT outsold the Cadillac Escalade EXT, but the 2007 EXT gained on the Mark LT's sales consistently. After disappointing sales, the Mark LT was cancelled in the United States and Canada after the first generation, but a second generation was sold in Mexico where it was often the Lincoln Division's best selling model.

I have noticed some issues with the vehicle since purchasing it 4 months ago. However, I am confident in the quality of the vehicle and believe that these issues can be resolved. The steering column and trim pieces have been replaced, and I am working with the dealers to address the tire balancing. While there are some areas of the interior that could be improved, I am impressed with the overall performance and handling of the vehicle. I believe that with proper maintenance, this vehicle will continue to exceed my expectations.

  3. Lowell Wilkinson 2024-02-24

I recently traded in my Cadillac Escalade for the new LT. While I've been enjoying the vehicle, I must say that I was a bit disappointed with some aspects of the Lincoln. The interior doesn't quite match up to the Cadillac's, and I was surprised to find that there's no navigation system offered. Additionally, the sound system is quite basic, and there's only one 12v power source. I've also noticed some rattling in the back seat, and I do miss the wood steering wheel. Overall, it feels like a bit of a missed opportunity for Lincoln. However, I'm still enjoying the vehicle and appreciate the extra features it does offer.

  4. Logan Torp 2024-01-28

I've had this vehicle for a week now and I've noticed a few things that Lincoln could have improved on the Mark LT. Firstly, there's not much storage space, making it difficult to fit in essentials like a first aid kit or jumper cables. Additionally, the rear seats don't fold down, and while they do fold up, there's no storage space underneath. The radio's CD player also requires manual intervention to shuffle songs. The odometer doesn't display tenths of a mile, which can be inconvenient. The memory seats don't adjust the mirrors, and the lumbar support is manual instead of push-button. There's also no light under the hood, and the hood latch isn't very user-friendly. The plastic-like grill is flimsy, and the black running boards show dirt and dust easily. It would have been better if they were chrome with Lincoln inserts. Overall, these are just a few things that could have been improved to make the Mark LT more user-friendly and designer chic.

Positive 2008 Lincoln Mark lt car reviews

  1. Gilberto Kling 2025-01-03

The Mark is a really nice truck that will do everything I need it to when hauling a boat comfortably. I love the sunroof, heated seats, a bit of leather and satellite radio. The reverse scanning system is top-notch. I think the Mark is definitely a truck first and foremost. The Escalade, which I also considered, was just too fancy for my needs.

  2. Nathaniel Pagac 2024-09-20

Looks great and drives very well! It pulls a fully loaded trailer with ease.

  3. Gene Veum 2024-09-13

This truck is designed for hardworking people who deserve the best. It's not just a nice truck, it's the best looking and most comfortable truck out there.

  4. Jedidiah Boyer 2024-09-06

This is the truck to have! You can be urbane and deal with farm roads too. What a great mix.

  5. Cullen Howe 2024-08-19

I recently purchased a new Mark LT 2006, my first experience with a Lincoln (Ford) product. Although I was hesitant due to Ford's reputation for breaking down, I decided to take the plunge. Unfortunately, on the first day with my new truck, the entire electrical system went out and the interior started to fall apart. However, the dealer was incredibly helpful and came to pick me up from 35 miles away! They gave me the option to fix my truck, get my money back, or choose a different Mark LT model. I opted for a different model and although it runs great, I did notice that it is missing moldings on both sides. Overall, I am pleased with the Mark LT, but the attention to detail from the plant needs improvement.
