2008 Lincoln Mark lt problems

The Lincoln Mark LT is a luxury pickup truck manufactured and marketed by Ford's Lincoln division. Having gone on sale in January 2005 for the 2006 model year, the Mark LT was essentially a badge engineered, luxury-trimmed variant of the Ford F-150 truck — and a successor to the failed 2002-only Lincoln Blackwood. The Mark LT was manufactured at Ford's River Rouge Plant in Dearborn, Michigan, and at the Ford Cuautitlan plant in Cuautitlán, Mexico, on the same lines as the closely related Ford F-150.

The Mark LT is based on the Ford F-150 pickup truck. It uses the same 330-cubic-inch, 300 hp (224 kW; 304 PS) 5.4 L Triton V8 and has four doors. The Mark LT also had optional all-wheel drive.

Lincoln had hoped to sell 13,000 Mark LT's annually in the United States. The Mark LT was more successful than the Blackwood in its first year of sales with 10,274 sold in the first calendar year of sales (February 2005 through February 2006). The 2006 Mark LT outsold the Cadillac Escalade EXT, but the 2007 EXT gained on the Mark LT's sales consistently. After disappointing sales, the Mark LT was cancelled in the United States and Canada after the first generation, but a second generation was sold in Mexico where it was often the Lincoln Division's best selling model.

Negative 2008 Lincoln Mark lt car reviews

  1. Chaim Cronin 2025-08-15

Although the vehicle has a great appearance and receives many compliments, it falls short in terms of comfort and interior quality. The seats are extremely hard and uncomfortable, even on short drives, and the materials used in the interior are cheap. However, it is important to note that this is a truck with impressive capabilities. In comparison to my 4 Chevy Avalanches, I would choose to drive one of them instead due to their better fuel mileage. Despite its flaws, this is a well-built truck. Its average fuel mileage of 11-12mpg is not ideal, but it is still a reliable option. The Chevy Avalanche, on the other hand, offers 20% better fuel mileage.

  2. Felipe Lesch 2025-08-15

The dealer I worked with was fantastic. The truck is a beautiful burgundy color and receives many compliments. Although I have experienced some issues with the air conditioning not blowing cold at idle and a lack of power, the local dealer attempted to resolve the issue by resetting the computer code. While the air conditioning works most of the time, the power and gas mileage are still not up to par. It feels more like an F-150 with some added chrome than a true Lincoln. However, for those who appreciate the Lincoln name and style, it is still a great option.

  3. Garth Stoltenberg 2025-05-29

This truck is absolutely beautiful. If you're in search of a pickup that can haul just about anything, this is the one for you. I looked at the Titan and Ram first, but I liked this one the best. The interior is simply wonderful. If you're in search of a top-notch truck, this is the one for you!

  4. Abelardo Dickinson 2025-05-21

I hope you're doing well! I wanted to share my experience with my truck. I purchased it from a dealer with only 12,000 miles on it and it rides great! Although I haven't had the chance to tow anything with it yet, I'm confident it will perform well. It's a beautiful truck, but there are a few issues that I think should be addressed. The chrome rocker panels are a bit wavy and the driver's seat is showing some signs of wear and tear, which is surprising given that it only has 13,100 miles on it. Additionally, the shifter feels a bit cheap and the gas mileage is not great, averaging around 12-13mpg. The touch screen for the radio and navigation can be a bit frustrating to use and there are no rear air controls. Lastly, the brake dust is comparable to that of Mercedes and BMW. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase, but I wanted to share my honest feedback with you. Thanks for listening!

  5. Vinnie Yost 2025-04-20

I purchased the truck from the dealer with 36K miles on it and it ran great for a month. Unfortunately, after that, it started to experience a lot of issues. After a year and a settlement from Ford, which I was surprised to receive for a used truck, the transmission, rear end, and tie-rods were all shot. Additionally, it leaks water and the roof rattles. The dealer quoted me 7K to fix everything, which is a lot considering the truck only has 54K miles! Despite its great appearance, it's been difficult to enjoy since it's been in and out of the shop so much.

Positive 2008 Lincoln Mark lt car reviews

  1. Lewis Heidenreich 2025-08-22

This is the truck for those of us who said they would never drive a truck. Unlike the EXT, it is a real truck. I must say, these are the most comfortable seats I have ever had in an SUV. I am very happy with it and people look at it everywhere I go. Sure, it could be faster and the mpg isn't the greatest, but you know that going in.

  2. Judd Corwin 2025-08-11

I hope you're doing well! I just wanted to share my experience with my truck. I bought it new and, other than regular maintenance, I only had to take it to the dealer once for rotors at 7K. Overall, I'm very happy with it, even though I'm not the gentlest driver. The only downside is that it's not the most fuel-efficient, as I'm only getting 9.5 mpg in this heatwave. Take care!

  3. Noel Kiehn 2025-07-27

I'm so glad to hear that you've had such a positive experience with this truck! It sounds like it's been a reliable and versatile vehicle for you. From hauling dirt and mulch to towing a boat, it seems like it can handle anything you throw at it. And it's great to hear that your passengers have found it comfortable and stylish too. It's a shame to hear that they won't be producing it after 2008, but it's good to know that you've been able to enjoy it while it's still available.

  4. Hyman Auer 2025-07-09

Our 3000 mile trip from Florida to Michigan and back was amazing! The truck was so comfortable and easy to handle, and the gas mileage was impressive. I was blown away by its dependability - this truck is a real winner! Even when pulling a large tandem trailer, it still performed beyond my expectations. In fact, the truck averaged an impressive 16.5 mpg while pulling the fully loaded tandem trailer.

  5. Ignacio Nicolas 2025-06-23

This is definitely the best truck I have ever seen (and I live in San Antonio, TX). It gets comments everywhere I go. The power and fuel mileage are extremely good for a truck this large. There is plenty of room inside and out for how I would use a truck. Even the kids are impressed with the stereo -- the subwoofer will make the cars around you shake. The real wood trim is so smooth, you have to look twice to realize what they are. The chrome running boards look great with the rest of the truck and are very functional with the rubber inserts.
