2008 Lincoln Mark lt problems

The Lincoln Mark LT is a luxury pickup truck manufactured and marketed by Ford's Lincoln division. Having gone on sale in January 2005 for the 2006 model year, the Mark LT was essentially a badge engineered, luxury-trimmed variant of the Ford F-150 truck — and a successor to the failed 2002-only Lincoln Blackwood. The Mark LT was manufactured at Ford's River Rouge Plant in Dearborn, Michigan, and at the Ford Cuautitlan plant in Cuautitlán, Mexico, on the same lines as the closely related Ford F-150.

The Mark LT is based on the Ford F-150 pickup truck. It uses the same 330-cubic-inch, 300 hp (224 kW; 304 PS) 5.4 L Triton V8 and has four doors. The Mark LT also had optional all-wheel drive.

Lincoln had hoped to sell 13,000 Mark LT's annually in the United States. The Mark LT was more successful than the Blackwood in its first year of sales with 10,274 sold in the first calendar year of sales (February 2005 through February 2006). The 2006 Mark LT outsold the Cadillac Escalade EXT, but the 2007 EXT gained on the Mark LT's sales consistently. After disappointing sales, the Mark LT was cancelled in the United States and Canada after the first generation, but a second generation was sold in Mexico where it was often the Lincoln Division's best selling model.

Negative 2008 Lincoln Mark lt car reviews

  1. Garth Stoltenberg 2025-05-29

This truck is absolutely beautiful. If you're in search of a pickup that can haul just about anything, this is the one for you. I looked at the Titan and Ram first, but I liked this one the best. The interior is simply wonderful. If you're in search of a top-notch truck, this is the one for you!

  2. Abelardo Dickinson 2025-05-21

I hope you're doing well! I wanted to share my experience with my truck. I purchased it from a dealer with only 12,000 miles on it and it rides great! Although I haven't had the chance to tow anything with it yet, I'm confident it will perform well. It's a beautiful truck, but there are a few issues that I think should be addressed. The chrome rocker panels are a bit wavy and the driver's seat is showing some signs of wear and tear, which is surprising given that it only has 13,100 miles on it. Additionally, the shifter feels a bit cheap and the gas mileage is not great, averaging around 12-13mpg. The touch screen for the radio and navigation can be a bit frustrating to use and there are no rear air controls. Lastly, the brake dust is comparable to that of Mercedes and BMW. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase, but I wanted to share my honest feedback with you. Thanks for listening!

  3. Vinnie Yost 2025-04-20

I purchased the truck from the dealer with 36K miles on it and it ran great for a month. Unfortunately, after that, it started to experience a lot of issues. After a year and a settlement from Ford, which I was surprised to receive for a used truck, the transmission, rear end, and tie-rods were all shot. Additionally, it leaks water and the roof rattles. The dealer quoted me 7K to fix everything, which is a lot considering the truck only has 54K miles! Despite its great appearance, it's been difficult to enjoy since it's been in and out of the shop so much.

I'm glad to hear that you decided on the Mark Lt after test driving many trucks. It's great that you were able to find the luxury features you were looking for. Although it's based on the 150, it's still a good truck and the luxury package makes it even better. The monochrome package and all the features, except for the rear dvd, make for a fantastic driving experience on the road. However, I understand that the size can make it difficult for short shopping trips. I had a similar experience with my 05 Tacoma, which was a great truck but too basic. The Mark Lt looks amazing and the ride height is awesome. The luxury features are the best available and, in my opinion, Ford is the Mercedes of the truck category. If you're looking for more luxury features, looks, and exclusivity than the F-150, then the Mark Lt is definitely worth considering.

It's great to hear that you find the ride comfortable and that you like the look of the vehicle. It's always nice to receive compliments on your car. Thank you for sharing your positive experience!

Hello! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to let you know that I think the truck you chose is perfect for you and your wife's needs. It's great that you can use it for hauling and it's also comfortable for long drives and running errands. The white chocolate exterior and parchment interior sound like a lovely combination. I'm glad to hear that the build quality is excellent and that any issues were resolved under warranty. The stereo with Sirius radio is outstanding and the 5.4L engine has plenty of power. Your wife enjoyed driving it from Palm Springs to the SF Bay Area, which is great to hear. If you're still in the market for an upscale pickup, I would definitely recommend considering the 08 model. Thank you for sharing your experience with us!

  2. Bret Klocko 2025-05-15

I recently purchased this truck and it is by far the best vehicle I have ever owned, and I have owned quite a few in my 58 years. The ride is smooth for a pickup, the interior is good, and the stereo is excellent. It also has no problem hauling my 7000lb camper. Although the fuel economy could be better, getting 16 MPG on the highway going 80 is acceptable, but I would prefer at least 20 MPG. Overall, it was a very good purchase.

  3. Henri Runolfsdottir 2025-05-09

I'm so happy with my 'new to me' truck! I was looking to replace my mom-mobile safari van with something more functional and fun. I didn't want a van or a gray vehicle, and even though I was considering a Hummer, it just wouldn't have been practical for our family. We needed a truck to haul our toys like 4-wheelers, kayaks, and motorcycles, and sometimes even tow a trailer. I get a lot of compliments on my 2006 truck, and people often mistake it for a brand new one. I have no regrets about my purchase, and it gets a decent 17.3-18.2 MPG. It's so much fun to drive, and I absolutely love it! By the way, my husband and son added a 'rumble' to the muffler because it was too quiet for them, and I have to admit, I enjoy it too. Thanks, honey and son!

  4. Jerome Gibson 2025-03-08

I really enjoy driving this truck! As a 5'4

  5. Evans Smith 2025-03-04

This truck is absolutely stunning both inside and out! It comes with a plethora of features, including a moonroof, navigation, satellite radio, traction control, and park assist. The seating is also excellent, with plenty of leg space in both the front and back. The ride is smooth and comfortable, and the exterior design never fails to turn heads. Everyone who sees it wants to take a look inside, and they're never disappointed! The driver and passengers have a great view and comfortable seats. Plus, with a four-year bumper-to-bumper warranty, 5-year roadside assistance, 70,000 mile powertrain, and free first-year maintenance, this truck beats the warranty on most other trucks. I'm so glad I chose the Lincoln Mark LT - I absolutely love it!
