Manufacturer: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing
Components: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS
Summary: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2007-2011 Lexus GS350 and GS450h, 2006-2013 Lexus IS350 and 2010-2014 Lexus IS350C vehicles, equipped with 3.5L V6 2GR-FSE gasoline engines. The diaphragms in the fuel pulsation dampers may harden over time and develop cracks, possibly causing a fuel leak.
Consequence: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel delivery pipe with a new pipe that has improved pulsation dampers, free of charge. The recall began August 23, 2018. Owners may contact Lexus customer service at 1-800-255-3987. Toyota's number for this recall is JLF.

Summary: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain model year 2007-2010 Lexus LS vehicles manufactured May 9, 2006, to July 20, 2010, 2006-2011 Lexus GS vehicles manufactured January 6, 2005, to September 10, 2010, and 2006-2011 Lexus IS vehicles manufactured August 30, 2005, to September 10, 2010. Due to anti-corrosion plating remnants, fuel may leak from where the fuel pressure sensor is attached to the fuel delivery pipe.
Consequence: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will clean and reseal the fuel pressure sensor mounting area, free of charge. The recall began March 3, 2015. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331.

Summary: Toyota is recalling certain model year 2007-2011 Lexus GS350 vehicles manufactured June 19, 2006, through July 12, 2011; and model year 2006-2011 Lexus IS350 vehicles manufactured May 27, 2005, through July 13, 2011; and model year 2010-2011 Lexus IS350c vehicles manufactured November 25, 2009, through July 19, 2011. These vehicles, equipped with the 2GR-FSE engine, use bolts to secure the housing and sprocket of the Variable-Valve Timing (VVT) system gear assembly. These bolts could become loose due to abnormal impacts generated within the gear assembly immediately after a cold start-up.
Consequence: The loose bolts could cause the VVT gear housing and sprocket to separate and result in the engine stopping while the vehicle is being driven, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and Lexus dealers will replace the VVT unit free of charge. Owners may contact Toyota at 1-800-331-4331.

Summary: TOYOTA IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2006 AND 2007 LEXUS GS300 AND GS350 ALL WHEEL DRIVE (AWD) VEHICLES. THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT THE PLASTIC PAD EMBEDDED INTO THE FLOOR CARPET MAY INTERFERE WITH THE OPERATION OF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL.
Consequence: THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL COULD TEMPORARILY BECOME STUCK IN A PARTIALLY DEPRESSED POSITION RATHER THAN RETURN TO THE IDLE POSITION. A STUCK ACCELERATOR PEDAL MAY RESULT IN UNINTENDED AND SUSTAINED VEHICLE SPEEDS AND MAKE IT DIFFICULT TO STOP INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Although the car has great performance, I have had some issues with the dealership and the Lexus extended warranty. I have experienced some rattles that I have reported, but unfortunately, they either could not be duplicated or were not covered under warranty, which meant I had to pay for diagnostics. I also reported a rattle when starting the car, but the dealership could not find it. However, I later discovered that the rattle was a recall item, which I was not notified about but found out when I got the car serviced at the dealer. Overall, I have had some reliability issues, but I am hopeful that they will be resolved soon.

I am the original owner of a 2007 GS350 and I am happy to report that the car has been relatively trouble-free. The only repair I had to make (during the warranty period) was for the HVAC system, which was not working for the rear passengers. It turned out that a directional piece for the rear had come loose and blocked airflow, but it was fixed within one day. Otherwise, the car has been maintenance-free (I change the fluids as described in the manual, with the exception of changing the oil/filter every 3,500 miles). The leather seats have held up very well with no tears or signs of excessive wear. As I generally change cars every 8-10 years, this one is doing fine and I plan to hold on to it for at least another year or two.

I had to give up my '94 SC 400 and needed a sedan. After narrowing my choices down to the Infiniti G35, BMW 540, Lexus ES 350 and GS 350, I test drove them all. The G35 was quick but very stiff. I really liked the ES 350, it had nice features and a zippy new motor. Then we drove the GS and I was sold. It has all the power that my SC had with everything luxury that Lexus is known for. Although I paid a little more for the GS than the G35, I believe it was worth it. I am extremely happy with my purchase and I think this car is amazing. The power band from 80-115 is unbelievable and the car still has lots of power left even after shifting at 115. The amenities are top-notch and it's a great value.

The GS 350 AWD is an exceptional car that exudes top-notch quality both inside and out. Lexus' exceptional reliability provides added security, making it a wise investment. The interior is thoughtfully planned and purposeful, with every aspect designed to perfection. The ride is incredibly smooth, and the plush interior ensures that there is not a whisper of outside noise. Although the initial gas mileage averages around 16 mpg, it is expected to improve over time. While it is unfortunate that Sirius satellite radio is not available, the car is still amazing and built to last. Once you experience the drive, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it.
