2007 Lexus Gs 350 recalls
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 5 recalls for different components of the 2007 Lexus Gs 350.
- Manufacturer: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing
- Components: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS
- Summary: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2007-2011 Lexus GS350 and GS450h, 2006-2013 Lexus IS350 and 2010-2014 Lexus IS350C vehicles, equipped with 3.5L V6 2GR-FSE gasoline engines. The diaphragms in the fuel pulsation dampers may harden over time and develop cracks, possibly causing a fuel leak.
- Consequence: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.
- Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel delivery pipe with a new pipe that has improved pulsation dampers, free of charge. The recall began August 23, 2018. Owners may contact Lexus customer service at 1-800-255-3987. Toyota's number for this recall is JLF.
- Manufacturer: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing

- Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will clean and reseal the fuel pressure sensor mounting area, free of charge. The recall began March 3, 2015. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331.
- Manufacturer: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing

I have been driving the GS 350 for two months and have no negative comments. The vehicle handles as well, or better that a previously owned Audi A6 and has much quicker response. The weight to horsepower ratio must be just right since the acceleration, even when passing from 60 mph is fantastic. I did have a problem with the hood latch. It would not always release. Overall, I must say that this is the nicest sedan I have ever owned.

I bought this car used with 45K on it for my wife, who has a 20K mile per year commute for work. She had never owned a luxury sedan and was a bit apprehensive. However, now she loves it so much that I can't get her out of it and into her new CR-V. The car is a strong performer, has lots of nice features, and looks very sharp. It has been dead reliable, except for a bad alternator that caused it to konk out. We have had very few problems with the car despite 65,000 miles of rather hard use. There are some minor issues, such as the exhaust system needing repair for pinhole leaks three times. The car is also hard on tires due to being AWD, and a set of good tires only lasts about 20-30K miles until they have so much edge wear. Additionally, the car consumes oil, and I have to top it off every 1000 miles. It is also a bit difficult to get our toddler in and out of her child seat due to the low roofline, which has caused some wear on the headliner. Overall, I have been very pleased with the car. Repairs are few and far between, and it can be serviced somewhere affordable, like at a Toyota dealer or any good mechanic, unlike a BMW, Audi, or Mercedes. I would buy another Lexus in a heartbeat.

My car is a 2007 GS 350 with 220,000 miles on it and it still runs like it did when I first got it. The only repairs I have done are the normal ones...

I am the original owner of a 2007 GS350 and I am happy to report that the car has been relatively trouble-free. The only repair I had to make (during the warranty period) was for the HVAC system, which was not working for the rear passengers. It turned out that a directional piece for the rear had come loose and blocked airflow, but it was fixed within one day. Otherwise, the car has been maintenance-free (I change the fluids as described in the manual, with the exception of changing the oil/filter every 3,500 miles). The leather seats have held up very well with no tears or signs of excessive wear. As I generally change cars every 8-10 years, this one is doing fine and I plan to hold on to it for at least another year or two.

I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying your Lexus! It's great to know that the company took the reviews of the 2006 model into account and made improvements in the 07 model. Your comparison to the 1994 BMW 540 is high praise indeed! Although you mentioned that you would like a bit more headroom, it's good to hear that this is your only complaint. I highly recommend taking this car for a test drive.

The run flats can be quite uncomfortable for the driver, as they tend to produce a lot of rattles and a rough ride. However, the exceptional fuel economy they provide is definitely a plus. I personally replaced them with conventional tires, which are quieter and provide a smoother ride. Now, I can enjoy a noise-free cabin and appreciate the car's features. Even though I insulated noise-producing areas with felt, I still feel like a TV is missing. Overall, I believe this car is the best purchase I could have made for the price, especially since I bought it used with only 8k miles.

Although the car has great performance, I have had some issues with the dealership and the Lexus extended warranty. I have experienced some rattles that I have reported, but unfortunately, they either could not be duplicated or were not covered under warranty, which meant I had to pay for diagnostics. I also reported a rattle when starting the car, but the dealership could not find it. However, I later discovered that the rattle was a recall item, which I was not notified about but found out when I got the car serviced at the dealer. Overall, I have had some reliability issues, but I am hopeful that they will be resolved soon.
