Lexus Es350 problems

The Lexus ES (Japanese: レクサス・ES, Hepburn: Rekusasu ES) is a series of mid-size executive cars marketed since 1989 by Lexus, the luxury division of Toyota, across multiple generations, each offering V6 engines and a front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout. The first five generations of the ES used the Toyota Camry platform, while the latter generations are more closely related to both the Camry and the Avalon. Manual transmissions were offered until 1993, a lower-displacement inline-four engine became an option in Asian markets in 2010, and a gasoline-electric hybrid version was introduced in 2012. The ES was Lexus's only front-wheel drive vehicle until 1998, when the related RX was introduced, and the sedan occupied the entry-level luxury car segment of the Lexus lineup in North America and other regions until the debut of the IS in 1999. The ES name stands for "Executive Sedan". However, some Lexus importers use the name, "Elegant Sedan".
Introduced in 1989, the first generation ES 250 was one of two vehicles in Lexus's debut range, along with the LS 400. The second generation ES 300 debuted in 1991, followed by the third generation ES 300 in 1996, and the fourth generation ES 300/330 in 2001. The first- through fourth generation sedans shared body styling elements with Japan-market Toyota sedans, and a domestic market equivalent, the Toyota Windom (Japanese: トヨタ・ウィンダム, Toyota Windamu), was sold until the launch of the fifth generation ES in 2006. The word "Windom" is a combination of "win" and the suffix "dom" expresses a state of perpetual victory. The fifth generation ES used body styling marketed by Lexus as L-finesse and debuted in early 2006 as a 2007 model. The sixth generation ES debuted in the first half of 2012 as a 2013 model, and features increased cabin dimensions due to a longer wheelbase which is shared with the full-size XX40 series Avalon.
Lexus has positioned the ES in the comfort luxury segment, with an emphasis on interior amenities, quietness, and ride quality, in contrast with more firm-riding sport sedans. Buyers seeking more performance-focused models are targeted by the Lexus IS and rival makes, with such models offering a sportier drive with differently tuned suspensions. In Europe, Japan and other markets where it was not available until the seventh generation model, the GS sport sedans occupy the mid-size category in the Lexus lineup until it was cancelled August 2020. In the United States, the ES has been the best-selling Lexus sedan for over fifteen years.

Lexus Es350 2011
- Date Of Incident: 2024-07-19
- Date Complaint: 2024-08-10
- VIN: JTHBK1EG0B2
- Components: FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
- Summary: I started my vehicle and drove about 1/2 mile when the car started acting like it was running out of gas. I pulled over and got about 1gallon of gas in a gas can and put it in the vehicle. I turned the car back on and drove about 2 blocks when the vehicle started jumping like it was going to run out of gas again. The vehicle then shut down while I was driving it. I made it to the side of the road and put the vehicle in park and turned off the ignition with the push start button. I tried to start the vehicle again with the push start button and the vehicle would just try to start but just crank and not turn on. This ended up being a fault fuel pump. After some research I was able to find out Lexus had several thousand vehicles of the same year make and model recalled due to a faulty fuel pump that goes out while driving causing a dangerous driving condition which is exactly what occurred in my vehicle. I contacted Lexus and was told my vehicle was not included in the recall which I don’t understand due to the fact that my fuel pump went out while was driving. I am requesting this issue be investigated and the vehicle be added to the list of recalled vehicles with faulty fuel pumps

- Date Complaint: 2024-07-05
- VIN: JTHBJ46G682
- Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: The dashboard of the vehicle has deteriorated causing an extreme shiny surface all over. This can be seen at even given time of inspection. A recall was released to do this issue but when the LEXUS Newport News, VA dealership was contacted, the response was this vehicle was not included. During this time the vehicle was already in the need of the dashbpard being replaced due to the reasons stated in the recall letter. The vehicle was later taken to the same dealership whom denied the recall action, for a different service. The representative that was spoken with for the recall was present and seen the condition of the dashboad. the representative then stated that there was a recall for this issue. I reminded them of the call and the rep replied, if we would have known it was this bad, then we would have added your vehicle to the list for repair. I was told since the original recall date had expired for that repair issue that they were not going to honor the repair, even after acknowledging the damage and agreeing that it should have been included. The representative proceeded to suggest me to pay them as the dealer for a dashboard replacement. I asked to speak with another asociate which in turn advised the same information. The suggested service and charge, was declined. This dashboard has caused a mirror like glare in the windshield. It obtructs the view of objects while driving. Eye apparrel has been applied along with, seat position adjustments, and a towel placed to cover the dashboard while operating the vehicle. This is unsafe and as time goes on this issue continues to get worse. I have not had an auto insurance representative inspect the issue. I was unaware that this maybe an option.

- VIN: JTHBK1EG7A2
- Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER,VISIBILITY/WIPER
- Summary: I have been driving with a shiny sticky dashboard that reflects light directly into my eyes when I'm driving creating a dangerous driving condition. I was just made aware that there was a Lexus Customer Support Program ZLZ to replace this defective dashboard but I never received a recall notice. I have asked Lexus corporate and the dealership to help me resolve this dangerous defect but they said the program has expired and is no longer willing to help. I am a senior citizen and cannot afford to pay for this out of pocket or buy a new car. This defect is a widely known issue and Lexus has acknowledged that this is causing a dangerous condition while driving. I cannot understand why they would not resolve this matter regardless the program expired or not especially if owners did not received the notice. Please help. Lexus is unwilling to resolve this matter even though they know this defect is causing dangerous driving conditions which may lead to accidents.

- Components: TIRES
- Summary: I purchased and had installed 4 - Nokian Tyres One 215/55/17 on [XXX]. I brought my car to my Lexus dealer on [XXX] for routine car maintenance. When inspected, all four tires had a circumferential crack on the interior side wall. They were deep and went virtually around the entire tire. I was told not to drive the car and replace the tires immediately. At that point, we had put 30,000 miles on the tires and there was still plenty of tread. We returned to our tire dealer, and when he contacted Nokian, they said that this had been a problem with this group of tires, and although there wasn't a recall, they were replacing the tires for free on an "as-needed" basis. Our dealer replaced the tires, although I must say I am leery of this brand. In any event, there should be a formal recall on these tires. I've owned Cadillacs for most of the last forty years, but six months ago my family and I decided to lease a 2014 Lexus ES 350. We were pleasantly surprised to find that it was every bit as luxurious as the Cadillac, and even exceeded it in other areas such as fuel economy, useable trunk space, and interior legroom in the back seat. Overall, we found it to be a great value. What made the experience even better was the excellent service we received from the dealer, Lexus of the Palm Beaches. They didn't waste our time and offered us a fair deal with no hidden costs. When we purchased an extended warranty for a different make of car from the finance department of Lexus, we once again received a great value with no wasted time. When we traded in that Lexus for a 2017 model, Lexus of the Palm Beaches went out of their way to treat us right. Needless to say, we are equally happy with our new car!

This car is an absolute delight to drive! The ride is incredibly quiet, with no road noise whatsoever. The standard-issue stereo is simply amazing, with a sound quality that is hard to beat. I'm getting between 24-25 miles per gallon, which is fantastic for my mostly rural/suburban driving of about 20 miles a day. I've had the car for 9 months and driven about 7,000 miles, and I'm happy to report that I haven't had a single issue with it. While the technology can be a bit overwhelming, the dealership's technology person was friendly and helpful when I called for assistance. Unfortunately, I didn't receive much training on the technology at the time of purchase/lease, but that's just a minor setback. I live quite far from the closest dealership, but they went above and beyond by sending someone to pick up the car for its 6-month check-up, washing it, and returning it the following day. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with my experience with this car and the dealership!

I really liked the performance of my HS 250 H, but I wanted something bigger and more powerful. When I took the ES 350 for a test drive, I knew right away that it was the perfect car for me. I didn't even bother testing the BMW X1. I have to get used to using more gas, but overall, I'm really happy with my new sedan. It was easy to connect the Bluetooth, SiriusXM, and all the other features. The acceleration and smoothness of the ride are definitely worth the price. Plus, since the ES models can last up to 250,000 miles, I won't need to change cars anytime soon!

Hello! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share an update with you regarding my 2007 Lexus ES 350. Unfortunately, the dashboard has been deteriorating and has become sticky with a bad glare. However, I'm happy to report that Lexus replaced the dash at no cost to me and I'm once again pleased with my car. It has 150K miles and has had no issues except for the dashboard. I did have some trouble getting the issue resolved, as the local dealership told me it was out of their hands and I had to deal with Lexus corporate. While corporate did admit there is a problem with the dashes, they said they cannot warranty the defect forever. I explained that I never received the notification and only found out about the issue after searching the internet for solutions. Overall, I'm a bit disappointed in Lexus corporate's lack of concern, but I'm glad the issue has been resolved. Thank you for listening to my story!

I previously owned a MB E550 AWD, which was a great car, but a bit pricey at over $85,000 with all the options I wanted. Recently, I took delivery of a 2021 ES 350 Ultra Luxury, which has every available option except AWD (which I don't need where I live now). I must say, the fit and finish is just as good as any Mercedes or other fine automobile. The pure luxury inside is unmatched by any vehicle in its price range, from $55,000 and up, including the MB. The ride is ultra quiet and smooth, yet still gives the driver a solid feel for the road. If this car were rebranded and presented as a Mercedes, it could easily carry an $80,000 price tag without anyone batting an eye.

1. Before making a purchase, it's important to check the fade system for the sound as it may not be up to par. 2. Keep in mind that the turning radius is quite wide, so if you have a tricky entrance to your garage, it may require some extra maneuvering. 3. It's worth noting that in this $50,000 car, the left knee may rest against metal on the driver's door, which could be uncomfortable for some drivers.

Hello! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with the ES-350. I've leased three of them in the past and was considering getting a fourth this year. However, after reading reviews on Edmunds, I became concerned about the stereo system and ride comfort. I took it for a spin a couple of months ago and while the comfort is still great, I found the Mark Levinson stereo to be unacceptable. It was okay with my iTunes songs, but the HD Radio sounded awful. I also didn't like the placement of the two knobs atop the instrument panel. Additionally, in my area, if you want an ES-350 with Mark Levinson, you're forced to get the triple beam headlights, which is a total waste for me since I do most of my driving during daylight. Another thing that didn't sit well with me was the new lower percentage of residual value, which would have resulted in greater monthly lease payments. After leasing four ES-350s, I decided to look elsewhere. I ended up leasing a new Tesla Model 3 and I absolutely love it! Thank you, Lexus, for the memories and for making changes that made me explore other options.

This car was supposed to be the car that lasted forever... but unfortunately, that hasn't been the case. I bought it certified used from Lexus with 45,000 miles and a 100,000 mile warranty. At 60,000 miles, the cv joint went out due to a leak, but thankfully, the warranty covered it. Then, at 95,000 miles, the motor blew up. There was a crack in the short block and one of the crank bearings went out. Again, the warranty covered it, but I was still disappointed. Additionally, I received a letter in the mail 4 weeks later stating that the front passenger airbag was a defective Takata inflator capable of spewing shrapnel, which was concerning. The car is also not as quiet as I had hoped, which is disappointing since I commute via the highway. However, the leather interior is quite comfortable. While I personally will not be purchasing a Toyota/Lexus again, I understand that every car is different and my experience may not be representative of the brand as a whole. Despite my personal experience, I encourage you to do your own research and make the decision that is best for you.

I recently leased the 2019 ES 350 Ultra Luxury with the Mark Levinson sound system, after having leased the same Ultra Luxury model in 2016. Unfortunately, the stereo in the new redesigned ES 350 has been botched by taking out the rear door woofers, resulting in a lack of full range sound. This issue is not exclusive to the models with the Mark Levinson system, but all ES 350 models. The dealer has been receiving numerous complaints about this issue, and even after I contacted Lexus corporate, I have not received a satisfactory answer. I recently received a letter from lawyers representing Lexus, who basically said that Lexus is under no obligation to redesign the audio system in my vehicle. If you had the previous model ES 350, you will be disappointed in the sound. However, don't be fooled by the 1800 watt stereo system that they are touting. I encourage you to read the rest of the reviews on this subject on Edmunds.com, Cars.com, the Lexus enthusiast, and other sites. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

The stereo system in this car, specifically the upgraded Mark Levinson, unfortunately suffers from balance/fader issues and Bluetooth connectivity problems. Despite adjusting the fader and equalizer settings, all of the sound still comes directly from the center dash speaker. This issue has been reported by several people on online forums, and while Lexus has been made aware, they claim that this is how the system is designed. Therefore, I would highly recommend that anyone considering purchasing this car listen to the stereo beforehand, especially at lower volumes. It's a shame that such a fantastic car is let down by this issue, especially given its price point.
