The Jaguar F-Pace (X761) is a compact luxury crossover SUV made by Jaguar Land Rover, a British car manufacturer, under their Jaguar marque. It is the first model to be built by Jaguar in the SUV class. It was formally announced at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, with sales commencing in 2016 following an unveiling at the 2015 International Motor Show Germany in Frankfurt.
The design of the F-Pace is based on the 2013 Jaguar C-X17 concept car. The 2017 Jaguar F-Pace has been named the honorary winner of the 2017 World Car of the Year and World Car Design of the Year Awards at the New York International Auto Show. The F-Pace is built at Jaguar Land Rover's Solihull plant along with the Range Rover Velar and employs an additional 1,300 workers.
Launch
An F-Pace production prototype made its public debut on 4 July 2015 by leading out the Team Sky professional cycle racing team during Le Grand Départ in Utrecht, Netherlands, at the start of the 2015 Tour de France. Customer deliveries started in April 2016 in Europe, and in May 2016 in the United States. The car made its official public début at the September 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. Ahead of the Frankfurt Motor Show, an F-Pace, driven by professional stunt driver Terry Grant, performed a world-record-breaking 360 degree loop-the-loop.

Common 2018 Jaguar F-pace problems

- Instrument Cluster: Some F-Pace models made between August and September 2017 have experienced a software glitch causing the instrument cluster to go blank. This can be resolved with an update performed at a dealership.
- Risk of Fire: Specifically affecting 3.0-litre diesel models made between March and June 2016, a problem with the starter motor cable could lead to melting plastic components and a potential fire hazard, necessitating a replacement cable.

Jaguar has the part on out of stock status and requires U.S. dealers to order from the UK with no confirmed eta (told could take 5-6 weeks). As you can see in the picture I was given of the issue, I cannot drive this vehicle and Jaguar refuses to provide any support or contribution to remedy the issue. This includes not providing a replacement vehicle while my vehicle sits at the dealership. My standard driving conditions with this vehicle are city streets and general highway - no off-road conditions. Also no towing by the vehicle (it has never had a hitch installed). Please investigate how such an important component to maintain safe driving conditions is allowed to go unresolved, and ultimately be pushed on the consumer as their problem. Can’t imagine what would happen if and when one of these truly breaks while someone is driving. I was informed of the issue by the dealer after a multipoint inspection. - Summary: For a few years there has been many repairs and complaints about the power steering in the Jaguar F Pace. I was driving home Friday in the rain when out of nowhere the power steering quit working and I almost wrecked in a turn. I looked at the fluid which is full and check to see any loose wires and see nothing. I tried to call Jaguar Customer service and they told me to reach out to the service department then call back if there is any issues. Right now I am down without a car and I don’t feel like I should be at fault and pay for a failed power steering system. In the turn the car said Power Steering Assistance Reduced. There are reports of the failed steering in thousands of their cars from the years of 2017 to 2020. Some say the box starts to designate and some say it allows water to get in and damages the electrical components. I know that the milage on my vehicle is 95,000 but highway driving doesn’t cause that to happen.

- Summary: The Check Engine light hasn't worked on our Jaguar F Pace since we bought it despite taking it multiple times to multiple dealerships (due to moving to three different cities). We were told by each dealership that it wasn't a issue unless it was flashing. The final straw was in Feb 2024 we were driving on a busy road (A1A) at 55 miles per hour and the car started jerking, making loud noises and then stopped. We had to have it towed and find transportation home. Thank goodness my husband was driving because I'm not sure how I would have handled it. The Fields Jaguar Land Rover of Jacksonville says that we must pay $20,000 to repair the entire engine and Jaguar North America won't do anything to help. Please help us and make sure this issue doesn't happen to anyone else. Defective indicator light like this is a major safety issue.

- Summary: Korea has recalled this model of FPace because the timing chain is known to break with less than 50K miles. I have also read lots of posts on Jaguar forums about 2.0 Diesel FPaces being known to have timing chain failure which necessitated a complete engine replacement. I am terrified that my timing chain is going to come off and damage my engine every time I get in it.
SEAT BELTS PROBLEM

- Summary: The rear seat belts in this specific configuration of the F-Pace have an issue where they get caught in the panel casing and then do not retract. The configuration matters (with rear heated/recline seats) because it gets caught in the panel that is unique to this configuration. The seat belts appear to work, but if you pull it angled too far away from the door (toward the middle of the car), the belt gets caught in the plastic panel, and then you can't get it to retract unless you force it back out of the plastic and out toward the door. High back booster seats reposition the seat belt in such a way so that this issue occurs every time. We tried with 3 different brands. The issue is that you can install the booster fine, and buckle your child in, without noticing a problem. But if that child leans forward at any point, the seat belt stays loose. We did not notice the first time driving with a high back booster, and I'm sure other parents would not, either. We tried with a backless booster, as well. These do not reposition the seat belt as much, and still the issue occurs but not as consistently. I tried as an adult without any booster seat, and was able to replicate as well, meaning any child, regardless of size, could end up with the seat belt hanging loose if they lean at any point. I brought this to our local Jaguar dealership repair technicians, and they said it was not an issue and suggested that instead we pull the seatbelt all the way out then retract, so that it locks in place tight across our child using the automatic locking retractor mechanism. This is obviously extremely unsafe and not the real solution to this issue. We're left unable to use high back boosters with this car, and even unable to use backless boosters safely. It was fine when we used LATCH and didn't need the seat belt, but now I don't feel that we can use our car with kids in the back.

The contact stated that while his wife was driving approximately 75 MPH, there was a loud pop coming from the rear-end of the vehicle. The contact stated that his wife saw no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that his wife was able to safely pull off of the highway. The contact stated that there was damage to the driver’s side rear inner fender liner, and to the rear bumper plastic cover which was fractured at one corner nearby the wheel well. The contact saw that the driver’s side rear tire was missing a strip of tread around the entire outside edge of the tire which exposed the steel belt. The contact changed the tire with the spare tire and drove the vehicle to the residence. The vehicle was then towed to a repair facility. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had not been contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 36,000.

AS I BENT OVER TO PICK UP THE BAG, I HEARD A NOISE AS THE JAGUAR WAS COMING TOWARD ME WHEN THE OPEN DOOR OF THE JAGUAR HOOKED ONTO THE OTHER CAR IN THE GARAGE. I HAD NO ESCAPE PATH BUT THE DOOR STOPPED THE CAR FROM COMING ALL THE WAY TO THE WALL. IF IT HAD NOT, I WOULD HAVE BEEN TRAPPED AGAINST THE BACK WALL OF THE GARAGE. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 3 recalls for different components of the 2018 Jaguar F-pace.
- Manufacturer: Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC
- Components: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM:FUEL RAIL
- Summary: Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Jaguar) is recalling certain 2018 Jaguar XE, XF, E-PACE, F-PACE and F-TYPE vehicles equipped with a 2.0L gasoline engine. The fuel rail end caps may leak, possibly resulting in fuel vapor or liquid fuel leaking into the engine bay.
- Consequence: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source such as hot engine or exhaust components can increase the risk of a fire.
- Remedy: Jaguar will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel rail, free of charge. The recall began on March 8, 2018. Owners may contact Jaguar customer service at 1-800-452-4827. Jaguar's number for this recall is H081.

- Summary: Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Jaguar) is recalling certain 2017-2018 F-Pace vehicles. The Instrument Cluster (IC) may intermittently go blank.
- Consequence: A blank instrument cluster will not show important information like vehicle speed, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Jaguar will notify owners, and dealers will update the vehicle software, free of charge. The recall began on February 16, 2018. Owners may contact Jaguar customer service at 1-800-452-4827. Note: This recall expands the scope of vehicles recalled under 17V-678. Jaguar's number for this recall is H056.

It looks like the car was listed with navigation but unfortunately did not come with a SIM card. Additionally, it seems that the floor mats were missing. However, overall I am very satisfied with my experience. I really enjoyed working with Cadillac Norwood and absolutely love the car. I would definitely recommend the Jaguar F Pace to others.

I love this F-PACE-S 6cyl. supercharge! It is fun and practical in every day, even with a new engine installed under the hood after 125.000 km driven. The local distributor performed a replacement of the new Jaguar-supplied 6 cyl. engine.

There are some great things about the car, such as the styling and performance. However, there are some features missing on this model that you would expect to have as standard on a Jaguar. The seats are made of faux leather and the dash/inside side panels are plastic. Additionally, there is no standard satellite radio or CD, and the radio doesn't show the artist or song. The standard headlights are halogen, not Xenon, and there is no standard front or rear parking sensors or blind-spot monitor. There isn't even a compass. I have most of these features on my 2003 Infiniti FX45 and 2012 Volvo. It's a shame that I expected these things and then discovered how much they are missed after I purchased the car. I located an upgraded model that had the features that I wanted, but was told that my car had already decreased in value by $7K in three months and I would need to pay an additional $12K for the same year car with the extras. So, I'm deciding whether to settle or to look into another vehicle altogether. I expected more from a brand like Jaguar, and I'm disappointed. However, I'm hopeful that I can find a car that meets my needs and expectations.

Let's talk about the power first. This car has amazing acceleration and power, while still sipping gas at 28+ mpg. The ride is great, we were cruising at 90 and it felt like 50. The heated and cooled leather seats are a warm welcome. After a day of driving, you feel relaxed and ready to drive some more. This car is a dream to drive. The full panoramic sunroof is awesome, providing great visibility with virtually no blind spots. Jaguar uses the Meridian sound system, which I think blows away the competition. The navigation system is easy to use and very intuitive. The InControl apps make remote starting and finding your car after the NFL game a breeze. In my book, Jaguar is spot on with the F Pace. We love ours. To add icing to the cake, the team at Willis of Des Moines are great to work with. Thanks Todd and Jack for the great experience!

Until a minor 'check engine light' issue at 24,000 miles, this vehicle had only received one oil change per warranty. However, the dealer promptly resolved the issue by replacing the oil filter sensor, and now we are back to enjoying this fabulous SVR. I noticed that Jaguar is planning to go all-electric in 2025, but until then, I will stick with diesel. I absolutely love my F-Pace; it is so much fun to drive!

After purchasing the vehicle, I began experiencing some issues with strange noises and abrupt slowing down while driving. Additionally, the gas cap warning light and engine light remained on. I reached out to the dealership and it took a few visits before the issue was resolved. However, even after repairs were made, the same issues persisted. Although I initially loved the vehicle, I now regret my purchase. I have made a total of 6 trips to Rockville regarding this matter and it has been a challenging experience.

I hope you're doing well! I noticed that you mentioned some issues with the 2018 model, such as the cramped rear seat, problems with the electrics, and headlights that aren't bright enough. Additionally, you mentioned that there is no blind-side assist. I can understand how these issues might be frustrating. On the bright side, it sounds like you've found a car that you prefer - your wife's MB GLC! I also noticed that you've replaced your F-Pace with an Audi Q3. I hope you're enjoying your new car!
