This 2019 F-Pace has a few electrical gremlins, but don't let that discourage you! Despite the occasional refusal to shift gears or automatically restart after stopping, it's a wonderful road car. It's smooth and quiet on most road surfaces, although it can be a bit stiff going over speed bumps, so be sure to take it slow. The performance with the 2.5 turbocharged engine is impressive and rivals my previous supercharged 3 liter V6. When you need to accelerate, this car delivers! Jaguar really listened to their customers and increased the fuel capacity by 5 gallons, which means I can easily drive well over 400 miles on a tank. In fact, my best is 26 mpg from Carmel, CA to Orange County, CA. Overall, I've really enjoyed my two F-Pace (s) since 2017. They're quiet and feel very solid, have great carrying capacity, and get reasonable mileage for a performance SUV. They're definitely on par with the Porsche Macan, Alfa Stevio, and Maserati Lavente, but at a more reasonable price.

I've owned similarly sized SUVs from Audi, Acura, and BMW, but I have to say, the JAG F-Pace Portfolio 30t SUV might just be my favorite. The ride, handling, and acceleration are all stunning, with only the BMW X5 4.4 I previously owned having more powerful acceleration. When placed in dynamic and sports mode, this JAG handles like a responsive sports car, just like the BMW X5 used to. However, BMW has unfortunately gone with a looser steering mechanism that is not nearly as fun to drive. Additionally, this car is much lighter than my previous X5. The lower trim models (premier and prestige) are not as packed with features as the portfolio edition, but for me, the comfort, design, and feel of the portfolio package puts this SUV over the top. I also highly recommend getting the heads-up display, which projects both speed and navigation instructions in a pleasing and easy-to-view manner. Although there aren't many of these SUVs on the road, I suspect that will change soon.

The vehicle handles well and accelerates nicely. However, I was not particularly impressed with the standard options when compared to other vehicles of the same caliber.

I'm looking to trade in my 2018 f-pace. I test drove an SVR and loved the performance, but I'm not a fan of the changes they made to the Dashboard/controls. One of the reasons I chose the f-pace in the first place was because they still had physical controls for the environmental/temp/volume. I don't want to have to navigate through 20 webpages while driving just to change the volume. It's inconvenient and unsafe. It's something you use every time you get in the car, and it's frustrating enough that I'm now shopping around for a different brand. It's a shame because you can't beat that acceleration or handling, but at the end of the day, those are just nice-to-haves. If the dash is not workable, it's just not practical.

I bought what I thought was my dream car, but unfortunately it didn't make it to its first anniversary. The little issues quickly became big problems, starting with a dead battery after its first oil change at 5K miles. I initially thought it was a fluke, but it happened again after the next routine oil change service. Within the first year of ownership, the radio would turn on and off on its own while driving, the sunroof wouldn't fully close without a fight, and the dynamic shifting system stopped functioning. The dealership tried to resolve the issues, but after two weeks without success, I sold the car while it was still in their possession and bought another vehicle. Although the work was under warranty, the Jaguar dealership didn't offer me a loaner vehicle, leaving me to my own resources. Despite the frustrating experience, I'm happy with my new car (which is not a Jaguar!).

The seats in a premium Jaguar F-Pace are made of pleather, which is disappointing for a luxury car with such a high MSRP, especially considering that the premium 25t is not their basic model. Even the steering wheel has the same material, which can make it sound like you are rubbing plastic while driving. I also looked at their prestige model, and although it had leather seats, the steering wheel material was the same. It seems that you are paying more for the brand than for the vehicle's interior. Additionally, you have to pay extra for features that are now basic in cars, which can boost the price to close to $60,000. Unfortunately, negotiating with the dealer on the MSRP or selling price is not an option, as they are only interested in knowing how much your monthly payment can be. If you can't pay $600 or more, there is nothing they will do. While I loved the exterior, the interior was extremely disappointing. It would be great if Jaguar made leather standard in all their vehicles. Maybe in another generation for me! Overall, the asking price is not worth it.

Can you believe that this luxury car doesn't have a touchless key? It's surprising! I was disappointed to find out that even though I paid for heated seats in the back, there are no cup holders or seat pockets. During the first week, my coolant light turned on, but the dealer assured me that everything was fine. Unfortunately, I feel every bump and dent in the road while driving, so it's not a very smooth ride.
