2015 Infiniti Q70 problems

infiniti logo

The Infiniti Q70 and Q70L is a line of mid-size luxury (executive) cars from Nissan luxury division Infiniti. Essentially an update to the Infiniti M series with minor cosmetic changes, the Q70 name was introduced to reflect Infiniti's updated "Q" nomenclature.

First generation

The Chinese model went on sale in 2012.

In 2013, the entire Infiniti line was renamed, with the M sedans becoming the Q70; this reflected the model's relative position in the Infiniti lineup, rather than the engine displacement as had previously been used.

US models went on sale in 2014 model year vehicles. Early models included 3.7, 3.7 AWD, 5.6, 5.6 AWD, Hybrid.

Negative 2015 Infiniti Q70 car reviews

  1. Esteban Jaskolski 2024-09-11

The vehicle has been experiencing hesitation problems, even after being serviced at two different dealerships. Unfortunately, Dealer 1 did not address the issue and claimed it was normal, while Dealer 2 reprogrammed the transmission software and still could not fix the problem. This has been a frustrating experience, especially when the vehicle struggles to accelerate and has poor gas mileage. Additionally, the handling is affected by uneven pavement and the technology is not up to par with the Q50 series. If you are considering this vehicle, it may be worth waiting for the 2021 Q70 which will have some fresh upgrades. It is important to note that in March 2020, the hesitation problem caused an accident and despite attempts to fix the issue, it was never resolved by Infiniti. For safety reasons, I had to get rid of the vehicle in February 2020.

  2. Nelson Leannon 2024-06-13

Pros and Cons (After driving it for a year) The exterior/interior design still looks very good, even though it hasn't been updated in a while. The Hermosa Blue exterior and graphite interior make for a nice color combination. With the Deluxe Touring Package, Premium Package, Technology Package, and Performance Tire & Wheel Package, my car stickered at $63k. However, it doesn't quite drive or feel like a premium luxury car when compared to other luxury brands. I was able to get a lot of car for the money when I bought it used for $28k in Oct. 2018, with a decent warranty still remaining. The 20 inch wheels really make the car look outstanding. The backseat has huge legroom and the power rear doors are a nice touch. The safety features are also very nice. Overall, the car has been reliable. However, there are areas where Infiniti can improve to compete with other premium luxury brands. For example, the ride quality is too coarse, too stiff, and unrefined for a premium luxury car. The ride needs more composure while still being sporty, and the suspension needs improvement. The car is also too noisy on the road, so sound insulation needs to be improved. All interior materials, including the dash/door, all buttons, knobs for volume/heated seats, and leather seat quality, could use an upgrade. They feel old and cheap, and there is still too much plastic. The doors need to close more solidly and feel less light and cheap. The car also needs a power open/close trunk and to be 2-3 inches wider. While the car looks great from the side, it is too narrow from the front/back. The stereo could also use improvement, even with the Bose 16 speaker option. The touch screen, navigation graphics, and cameras could also be improved. Infiniti could also consider designing a new key fob and improving the keyless entry system so that the doors unlock without pressing a button.Needs better resolution for the cameras. You get a lot of car for the money as used but it may not be worth buying new. On a positive note, I traded it in for a 2016 BMW 535xi with a sport package and I am very happy with my purchase. If only the Q70L had a better finish and composure, I would have kept it for a long time.

  3. Kip Goyette 2024-05-11

Despite being a three-time new Infiniti buyer and owner, I have unfortunately had a terrible experience with my current car. From the moment I drove it off the dealer's lot, it has had persistent problems. The A/C makes an incredibly loud noise, the car grabs every rut in the road and flies all over the place, and there is a buzz noise that can be heard over the radio. Despite my efforts to have these issues resolved, the service department has been unable to fix them and Infiniti has refused to take any action. The car has also gone through three sets of tires in just 39,000 miles. As a luxury car owner, I expected a better experience. I am disappointed that Infiniti has not been able to address these issues and I am eagerly looking forward to the day when I can trade this car in. Update at 45,000 miles.Infiniti has not yet contacted me to resolve any of the ongoing problems with my car, which I find unacceptable. Despite having driven 46,500 miles, the issues persist, making this the worst car I have ever owned.

  4. Kameron Hansen 2024-01-14

I bought this car back in June 2015, but unfortunately, it has been nothing but a problem since day one. The car pulls violently to the left and right when making lane changes at speeds of 60 mph plus, hesitates or bucks at cruising speeds, and the navigation system is off by miles. Additionally, the heated steering wheel gets hot to the point where it's difficult to hold, and the location of the heated steering wheel switch is dangerous, requiring you to take your eyes off the road and bend over to turn it on or off. The ride is not smooth and it's quite loud. I've noticed that even though I use the same fob all the time, the seat is always in a different position when I unlock and start the car. I had to have the battery replaced just three weeks after purchasing the car. In snow, it handles poorly, even in snow mode, and slides all over the road to the point where I stopped driving it when it snows. When I contacted the dealer where I purchased the car, they said there was nothing wrong with it and blamed it on road conditions, which I find hard to believe. Although this car was marketed as a high-end luxury sedan, it has not lived up to my expectations. Despite all of these issues, the dealer's way of taking care of it was to send me a $200.00 gift card.

Positive 2015 Infiniti Q70 car reviews

  1. Brian Bernhard 2025-01-08

After conducting a thorough review and test drives of various models including the Jaguar XF AWD Portfolio, the Audi A7 and A6, the BMW 528i and 435, I decided to purchase a fully loaded Q70S. In terms of performance, comfort, features and cost, the top two contenders were the Jaguar and the Q70S AWD. Although the Jaguar looked better, the Infiniti drove better in the sport configuration and provided more space for rear passengers. I highly recommend the Q70 as an excellent choice to consider, unless you have a specific preference for BMW or are looking to maximize your prestige.

  2. Florian Rice 2024-10-10

Hey there! I wanted to share my thoughts on the car you mentioned. Based on my experience, I think the sport package is a great feature to have. It includes a sport-tuned suspension, larger brakes, and 20-inch wheels with low-profile tires. These upgrades really enhance the car's performance and make it a joy to drive!

  3. Geovany Gutkowski 2024-09-14

I'm so happy with my Q70L! I got the sport and deluxe packages, and it's been a hit with everyone who's seen it. The engine is really powerful, and I love the pearl white exterior and java interior. It's such a great looking car, and it's so reliable for the price. I know it gets some bad publicity, but honestly, you can't go wrong with this car.

  4. Irwin Harber 2024-09-06

I've been driving this car for the last 6 years and I can't say anything negative about it. With 99K miles, I haven't had any mechanical problems and I feel safe riding in it. I love the spacious front and back leg room. I plan on keeping this car as long as it's running because the interior still looks brand new after all these years!

  5. Immanuel Goodwin 2024-06-19

The Q70 has an absolutely stunning interior with excellent fit and finish. The combination of technology and design inside is truly second to none. I'm not sure what the reviewer here is talking about, but in my experience, the engine and ride quality on the Q70 are great. I've been driving a 2015 model for a little over 2 months now and I couldn't be happier with the car. I really appreciate the active noise cancellation feature, and the acceleration is very quick - easily on par with a BMW 335ix in my opinion. Along with the Audi A7, I find the Q70S exterior styling to be the best in class as well, but of course, that's a personal choice. Overall, I would highly recommend this car. For reference, my last car was a 2009 Mercedes C 300 4 Matic (fully loaded), and I also considered the E350 and Acura RLX.
