Common 2016 Infiniti Q70 problems
The 2016 Infiniti Q70 is a midsize luxury sedan that is known for its high-quality materials, solid craftsmanship, and intuitive infotainment system. However, there are some common problems that owners have reported, which are worth considering before purchasing a used 2016 Q70.
One of the most common complaints about the 2016 Q70 is the roughness of the engine. While the engine provides enough power to pull the car, it can be quite rough, especially when compared to competitors in the luxury sedan segment. Some owners have reported that the gearbox is not smooth, but it does the job. Heated and cooled seats are a nice feature, but the heated steering wheel can be disappointing, as it heats up to the heat of the sun and the off switch is hidden under the steering wheel, making it difficult to switch off on the move. Additionally, the steering wheel heater may stop working, which can take several weeks to fix.
Another issue that some owners have reported is the lack of modern features in the infotainment system. While the system is intuitive and easy to operate, it may lack the eye-catching modernity of its rivals, and it does not have Android Auto or Apple CarPlay functionality. This can be a disappointment for tech-savvy buyers who are used to having the latest features in their cars.
The 2016 Q70 also has some issues with ride comfort and driver engagement. While the car responds well to driver commands, it does not inspire confidence on winding roads due to its heavy and vague steering feel. The stiffer ride may also be a drawback for some buyers who prefer a smoother ride.
In terms of reliability, the 2016 Infiniti Q70 has received mixed reviews. While some owners have reported no faults whatsoever, others have reported issues with the electrical system, brakes, and power equipment. Consumer Reports has not provided reliability ratings for the 2016 Q70, but the car's reliability history can be checked through their website.
In summary, while the 2016 Infiniti Q70 is a high-quality luxury sedan with many positive features, there are some common problems that owners have reported. These include a rough engine, a lack of modern features in the infotainment system, and issues with ride comfort and driver engagement. Additionally, the reliability of the car may be a concern for some buyers. It is important to carefully consider these factors before purchasing a used 2016 Q70.
Why did Infiniti discontinue the Q70?
Discontinuation. In 2019, Nissan confirmed that the Infiniti Q70, Q70L, Q30, and QX30 models will be discontinued after the 2019 model year due to poor sales as people in Canada, Mexico, and the United States prefer to purchase crossovers and SUVs instead of sedans, hatchbacks, estates, convertibles, and coupes.
How much is a Q70 worth?

STEERING,SERVICE BRAKES PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2016-12-20
- VIN: JN1BY1AR1GM
- Components: STEERING,SERVICE BRAKES
- Summary: BOTH MY WIFE AND I FEEL THAT THE HEATED STEERING WHEEL GETS TOO HOT TO COMFORTABLY HOLD CONTINUOUSLY. THIS ENCOURAGES THE DRIVER TO TURN OFF THE STEERING WHEEL HEATER WHILE DRIVING. UNFORTUNATELY, THE SWITCH IS LOCATED IN THE LOWEST BANK AT THE DRIVERS LEFT KNEE WHERE IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE. IT IS ALSO IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THE SWITCHES TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE DYNAMIC CONTROL, BACK-UP COLLISION INTERVENTION AND WARNING SYSTEMS. ALL OF THE ABOVE COMBINED RESULT IN THE DRIVER HAVING TO DIRECT THEIR ATTENTION AWAY FROM THE ROAD AND TO THE LOWER CONTROL PANEL AND, IN ADDITION, MAKES IT LIKELY THAT THEY WILL INADVERTENTLY TURN OFF A VEHICLE SAFETY SYSTEM. THE SERVICE MANUAL PROVIDES A RANGE OF 68F - 86F. THE DEALER MEASURED MINE AT 120F. SINCE THIS CLOSELY MATCHED ANOTHER Q70 ON THE LOT IT WAS DEEMED "NORMAL". I SUBMIT THAT IT IS NOT AND BELIEVE THAT IT NEEDS TO BE ATTENDED TO BEFORE IT RESULTS IN AN ACCIDENT. *TR

Over the past 7 years, I have owned both a Cadillac and a Lexus GS. While I initially considered purchasing another Lexus, I found that the new body style was too edgy for my taste. Similarly, Cadillac has also adopted edgy lines and too many upgrades, which can add an additional $10K in package cost. I also test drove the Lincoln MKZ & MKS, but unfortunately, both left me feeling unimpressed. However, my husband suggested that I try out the new Infiniti models. I started off by test driving the Q50, which was very stylish and comfortable, but it lacked some of the power functions, including cold seats, that my Lexus had spoiled me with. Then, they showed me the Q70L... It was love at first sight - what a beautiful car!

I'm so glad to hear that you love this car! It sounds like driving it is quite an experience, almost like being behind the wheel of the Batmobile.

I absolutely adore this car! I've had the pleasure of owning 2 Lexus, 2 Infiniti (3 now) and a Mercedes S, but I must say, this one might just be my favourite. (Although my 2001 RX300 is still a strong contender!) The Q70L is simply luxurious, stylish, and speedy. One thing that Infiniti consistently gets right is ergonomics - all the buttons are within easy reach and can be used in multiple ways to suit your preferences. It feels like this car was made just for me, with customisable features that allow me to interact with it in the way that I want. As tall people (6' & 6'5

These are great cars! I had an M45, an M56x, and a Q70. However, I am switching to a 2019 car mainly because of its resale value.

I'm so happy with my Q70L! I got the sport and deluxe packages, and it's been a hit with everyone who's seen it. The engine is really powerful, and I love the pearl white exterior and java interior. It's definitely the way to go if you're looking for a luxury car with a long wheel base, and it's much more affordable than other brands that offer the same feature. I know it doesn't always get the best reviews, but for the price and quality, I think it's unbeatable!

The vehicle has been experiencing hesitation problems, even after being serviced at two different dealerships. Unfortunately, Dealer 1 did not address the issue and claimed it was normal, while Dealer 2 reprogrammed the transmission software and still could not fix the problem. This has been a frustrating experience, especially when the vehicle struggles to accelerate and only reaches a maximum speed of 45mph. Additionally, the gas mileage is poor at 15mpg, even when using premium fuel. The handling can be unpredictable on uneven pavement, which can be concerning. However, if you are interested in this vehicle, it may be worth waiting for the 2021 Q70 which will have some fresh upgrades. It's important to note that in March 2020, the vehicle's hesitation problems caused an accident and unfortunately, Infiniti was unable to fix the issue. As a result, I had to get rid of the vehicle in February 2020 as it was too dangerous to drive and posed a risk to my safety and others.

I bought this car back in June 2015, but unfortunately, it has been nothing but a problem since day one. The car pulls violently to the left and right when making lane changes at speeds of 60 mph plus, hesitates or bucks at cruising speeds, and the navigation system is off by miles. Additionally, the heated steering wheel gets hot to the point where it's difficult to hold, and the location of the heated steering wheel switch is dangerous, requiring you to take your eyes off the road and bend over to turn it on or off. The ride is not smooth and it's quite loud. I've noticed that even though I use the same fob all the time, the seat is always in a different position when I unlock and start the car. I had to have the battery replaced just three weeks after purchasing the car. In snow, it handles poorly, even in snow mode, and slides all over the road to the point where I stopped driving it when it snows. When I contacted the dealer where I purchased the car, they said there was nothing wrong with it and blamed it on road conditions, which I find hard to believe. Although this car was marketed as a high-end luxury sedan, it has not lived up to my expectations. Despite all of these issues, the dealer's way of taking care of it was to send me a $200.00 gift card.

Despite being a three-time new Infiniti buyer and owner, I have unfortunately had a terrible experience with my current car. From the moment I drove it off the dealer's lot, it has had persistent problems. The A/C makes an incredibly loud noise, the car grabs every rut in the road and flies all over the place, and there is a buzz noise that can be heard over the radio. Despite my efforts to have these issues resolved, the service department has been unable to fix them and Infiniti has refused to take any action. The car has also gone through three sets of tires in just 39,000 miles. As a luxury car owner, I expected a better experience. I am disappointed that Infiniti has not been able to address these issues and I am eagerly looking forward to the day when I can trade this car in. Update at 45,000 miles.Infiniti has not yet contacted me to resolve any of the ongoing problems with my car, which I find unacceptable. Despite having driven 46,500 miles, the issues persist, making this the worst car I have ever owned.

If you're looking for a great luxury car without a tech package, this is the car for you. It doesn't have any apps or Bluetooth texting, and the 'In Touch' app is a bit of a joke. However, the driving experience is perfect, and the 360 view camera is amazing for a car at this price point - almost $60k.

You may notice some suspension noise when driving on certain types of roads, particularly chip & seal roads. Unfortunately, this can make for a less than quiet ride.
