2015 Hyundai Santa fe sport problems
The Hyundai Santa Fe (Korean: 현대 싼타페) is an automobile produced by the South Korean manufacturer Hyundai since 2000. It is a five-door crossover SUV that either has front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. It is named after the city of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and was introduced for the 2001 model year as Hyundai's first SUV. The Santa Fe was a milestone in the company's restructuring program of the late 1990s because the SUV was a hit with American buyers. Between 2006 and 2012, the Santa Fe was positioned between the smaller Tucson compact crossover and the larger Veracruz.
The third-generation Santa Fe introduced in 2012 was available in two versions, which are regular (short) and extended long-wheelbase version. The short model was sold as the Santa Fe Sport in North America (three-row seating was not available) and simply Santa Fe in global markets (three-row seating was standard or optional), while the extended long-wheelbase model is called the Santa Fe in the US, Santa Fe XL in Canada and called the Hyundai Maxcruz in South Korea. The fifth and current generation was released in 2023 and omits diesel engines in favor of petrol hybrid powertrains.
As of 2022, the Santa Fe is positioned between the smaller Tucson – which the Santa Fe shares platform with – and the larger Palisade in Hyundai's global crossover SUV line-up.

Great car overall! It's an exceptional value with excellent performance and durability. The low cost of ownership and great warranty make it an even better choice. I would definitely recommend this vehicle to anyone considering something comparable in this SUV category.
-
I absolutely love my Santa Fe! It's my first Hyundai, as I've always owned Hondas or Nissans before. I treat this car like my baby and it has never let me down. With about 78,000 miles on it, I've had no problems whatsoever. I even upgraded to 70,000 mile tires and noticed a slight improvement in gas mileage. The only thing I wish was different is the driver seat comfort, as I'm only 4'11 and would appreciate more adjustability. But overall, it's a fantastic car! I've made a few modifications, like tinting the windows and installing a sub and amp, and it looks and sounds amazing. I even added a tow hitch and cargo tray for camping trips, and it still gets great gas mileage even when fully loaded. I'm a bit of a base junkie, but even with the AC running 24/7 in the summer heat of July, I still got 30mpg. Can't beat that!
-
You've made an excellent choice with this vehicle! It's incredibly reliable and, in my opinion, the best value for your money. I upgraded to the 2014 model from my 2003 Sante Fe and have been thoroughly impressed. While I don't get the same gas mileage as I used to on the highways, it's still great for road trips.
-
Great SUV........ you would pay more if this was another vehicle..
-
I love my car! It's such a great ride and I always feel safe. Although, I have noticed that the visibility on the passenger side could be improved. I sometimes have difficulty seeing oncoming cars on the right.

I purchased my 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe used in 2015 with 22,000 miles. Since then, I have added another 25,000 miles. The turbo is fantastic and accelerates quickly. The heated seats and steering wheel are great features. The surround sound and speaker systems are also very impressive. However, the car does ride rough and has loud road noise. The interior feels a bit cheaply made and there are some squeaks and rattles. For the price, you do get a lot of features, but I personally would not choose to buy another Hyundai.
Nico Runolfsdottir 2024-09-15
This vehicle has a lot of great features for an SUV, but there is one issue that may be a concern for some drivers. When accelerating from a stop, there can be a slight hesitation which could potentially be dangerous in certain situations. While some may find this to be a minor inconvenience, others may find it to be a dealbreaker. It's important to be aware of this issue and take precautions when necessary. The dealership refers to it as 'turbo lag' and claims that it's a common occurrence in many vehicles. However, it's understandable to have doubts and concerns about this issue. Overall, this is a great SUV with a lot to offer, but it's important to be aware of this potential issue before making a purchase.
Reuben Goodwin 2024-08-02
This 2.4L engine has been a disappointment with poor performance and low fuel efficiency, even after 47K miles. Despite the dealer's recommendation for fuel system cleaner, it has made no difference in the engine's performance. The engine still bucks at stops. Based on my experience, I would not consider purchasing another car with this motor.
Afton Mosciski 2024-03-29
The transmission of the car presented a safety issue as it would occasionally cut out when approaching redline instead of shifting to the next gear. Despite taking the car to the dealer, they were unable to find the problem on the scanner. The Hyundai Eugene Service Center Manager stated that this is a normal operation for this vehicle and that it is up to the driver to make sure they let off the gas so as to allow the vehicle to shift properly. The dealer recommended not letting the car hit red-line. However, this trait of the Santa Fe cannot be fixed. Due to safety concerns, the car was replaced with a Honda CR-V that performs like a normal car.
Korbin Mosciski 2024-03-12
Bad gas mileage thought it would be better! The front seat broke on the track and they said it was the way I get in and out of the car less than 15,000 miles. NUTS. I want to return the car ASAP. I asked after having the car towed in to have assistance to pick up my car. After three e-mails. I asked to have the seat documented and to please send the shuttle to pick me up so I can pick up the car. If not they should tow in back. This wasn't my fault. This is the warranty.
