2005 Honda S2000 problems
The Honda S2000 is a front-mid engine open top sports car that was manufactured by Japanese automobile manufacturer Honda, from 1999 until 2009. First shown as a concept car called the SSM at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1995, the production version was launched on April 15, 1999, to celebrate the company's 50th anniversary. The S2000 is named for its engine displacement of two litres, while "S" stood for "sports" carrying on in the tradition of the S500, S600, and S800 roadsters of the 1960s.
Several revisions were made throughout the car's production life, including changes to the engine, gearbox, suspension, interior and exterior. Officially two variants exist: the initial launch model was given the chassis code AP1; though cosmetically similar, the facelifted version, known as the AP2 in North America and Japan, incorporated significant changes to the drivetrain and suspension. Production of the S2000 ceased on August 19, 2009.
The Honda S2000 was notable for its exceptional specific power output of about 124 hp per litre, or about two horsepower per cubic inch, the highest of any mass production, naturally aspirated engined car, until 2010.
The S2000 has since become a legitimate modern classic car, having seen a significant appreciation in price for valued examples in good condition. In the JDM community and the car community as a whole, the most sought-after models are special edition productions such as the CR (Club Racer) in the USA market; the standard AP1 and AP2 models have achieved collectible status as well.

I absolutely love my Suzuka Blue Metallic S2000! It's not just a mid-life crisis car, as some people might think. I spent a year in Iraq researching and thinking about the perfect car to buy when I got home, and this was it. The acceleration is quick, the handling is precise, and I haven't even reached the top end yet - if there even is one! Even though my daily commute is 35 miles each way on I-5 from Puyallup to Olympia (WA), I don't mind a little traffic because I get to put the top down, feel the sun and wind, and enjoy the beautiful views of Puget Sound, Mt. Rainier, and the Olympic Mountains. Plus, I have the optional hardtop for the wet winter months, which provides good visibility with the full rear window and reduced road noise. All in all, I couldn't be happier with my S2000!

After purchacing my S2000 in Anchorage in March, I quickly realized that a second car was needed in any area that required driving in the snow. That being said, this is the most fantastic car that I've ever driven. Though it packs quite a punch (240 hp), it is a very tame every day driver. But, when you want to unleash that horsepower, it's always there on command. It's handling is extremely precise, and there is little or no body roll in the corners. The chassis is extremely rigid, and the car feels as it is one piece. Having 6 speeds, the shifter is crisp and has short throws. The seats are firm and supportive. There is very little trunk room, though, so pack lightly.

This car replaces a 2004 Honda Element I owned. This is just the most fun car I have driven and I can say that truthfully. This makes about the 40th something vehicle I have bought and driven. Of course, being 5' 7

Hi there! I just wanted to share my experience with the S2000. After spending a lot of time researching and test driving different 2 seaters, I finally decided on the S2000 and I couldn't be happier with my choice! Even though I had to put it away for most of our New Hampshire Winter, it still met all my expectations of a sports car. I did have some trouble driving it on ice and snow, but I knew that going in and planned accordingly. I've even seen a few out there this Winter, so some people must add snow tires and probably studs to make it work. The rest of the year is pure joy! The suspension and handling are consistent and predictable, and the engine is smooth and very powerful for a 2.2 L. Thanks for letting me share!

This car is really impressive! The limited slip rear makes tight corners so much fun, and I'm constantly amazed by its ability to handle curves. Even though it's compact, you forget about its size as you watch the scenery fly by. And when you hit 6,500 rpm, it really hits its power-band like a CR 250. I can't help but wonder when Honda will release an eight cylinder monster!
