2007 Gmc Acadia problems
The GMC Acadia is a crossover SUV manufactured by General Motors for its GMC division. The first-generation GMC Acadia shared the GM Lambda platform with the Saturn Outlook, the Chevrolet Traverse, and the Buick Enclave. The Acadia went on sale in 2006 as a 2007 model in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The Acadia replaces three of the 7- or 8-seater vehicles on the Buick-Pontiac–GMC dealership network, the midsize GMC Safari van, the GMC Envoy, and the Pontiac Montana SV6 minivan for the domestic market. As of 2009, the Lambda vehicles have replaced the Buick Rainier, Buick Rendezvous, Buick Terraza, and the GMC Envoy XL and then subsequently the GMC Envoy, Chevrolet TrailBlazer and the Isuzu Ascender. A Denali version of the Acadia debuted for 2011. In 2017, the second generation Acadia was repositioned as a mid-size crossover utility vehicle in order to compete within the growing midsize SUV market against the likes of the Ford Explorer, Edge, and the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
First generation (2007)
The Acadia represents GMC's entry-level truck-like CUV and is the first unibody vehicle from the marque. It is also GMC's first front-wheel drive passenger vehicle, and also the first such vehicle of any kind since the 1973-78 GMC Motorhome.
The Acadia has seating for eight and either front or all-wheel drive. With a 5,200 lb (2,359 kg) towing capacity, the Acadia slots between the GMC Terrain and the Yukon. The Acadia is the mid-priced Lambda model between the Chevrolet Traverse and Enclave.
In December 2006, all production and sales of the Acadia (and the Saturn Outlook) were temporarily stopped due to the engine mounts not having holes drilled to release accumulated water, as well as an issue with potentially faulty rivets in the load floor just forward of the vehicle's rear hatch. The assembly process was quickly adjusted, and dealership sales of the vehicles had resumed within days of the notice.
The first-generation Acadia was sold alongside its second-generation replacement as the Acadia Limited.

- Components: POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,STRUCTURE
- Summary: GMC PLEASE TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THE SUNROOF LEAK ISSUE! YEARS OF DATA, ALMOST 100 COMPLAINTS, SOMEONE SHOULD ALREADY KNOW ABOUT THIS AND HAVE A SOLUTION! MY CAR HAS SERIOUS LEAKING ISSUES FROM THE SUNROOF ABOVE THE DRIVER, ELECTRICAL TO CABIN DOESN'T ALWAYS WORK EXCEPT DASH LIGHTS, AND HEADLIGHTS/TURN SIGNALS WORK SPORADICALLY. THE LOCKS WORK WHEN THEY'RE IN THE MOOD. ALSO MEANS AC/HEAT WORKS SOMETIMES..I LIVE UP NORTH AND IT'S 24 TODAY. MY WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID REMAINS EMPTY BECAUSE IT RANDOMLY TURNS ON AND DRAINS OUT: WHICH ALSO MEANS REPLACING MY WIPERS IS A BAD IDEA BECAUSE THEY RANDOMLY TURN ON FOR AT MOST AN HOUR AND DRY WIPING THE WINDOW...AND DESTROYING THE WIPER BLADES. ALL WHEEL DRIVE WON'T WORK, DESPITE MECHANIC SEEING NO ISSUES. I'VE TAKEN DOWN THE MOUNTS AND TRIED TO FLUSH THE DRAINING TUBES MYSELF..AND THEY'RE CLEAR WITH NO LEAKS WHEN I TESTED THE TUBES. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. I WISH I COULD AFFORD TO FIX THIS, BECAUSE WE NEED THIS VEHICLE; EVERYDAY I'M SCARED TO DRIVE IT! WE WON'T DRIVE AT NIGHT FOR THE RISK OF THE HEADLIGHTS SHUTTING OFF, AND ALWAYS FINGERS CROSSED MY TURN SIGNALS WILL FUNCTION TODAY. I HAVE KIDS! MY FAMILIES NOT RICH, WE CAN'T AFFORD ANOTHER VEHICLE OR THE COSTLY REPAIR, BEING THAT I'M A SINGLE MOM BARELY BUYING BREAD AND PAYING RENT AS IT IS SINCE MY HOURS GOT CUT FROM COVID. I ONLY WANTED A SAFE VEHICLE, I DIDN'T REALIZE I HAD TO BE SPECIFIC AND ASK FOR ONE WITH HEADLIGHTS AND ELECTRONICS WORKING APPROPRIATELY, TOO. I'LL BE SURE TO NEXT TIME I BUY A CAR...WHENEVER THAT LUCKY DAY OCCURS. PLEASE PRAY FOR US.

STEERING,AIR BAGS,ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC) PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2020-07-01
- VIN: 1GKER13727J
- Components: STEERING,AIR BAGS,ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC)
- Summary: 2007 GMC ACADIA, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL AND STABILITRACK KEEPS POPPING UP. IT LOSES THE POWER STEERING OFF AND ON IF YOU DRIVE IT IN THE RAIN AT ANY SPEED. WINDOWS CAN NOT BE CONTROLLED BY DRIVERS MASTER BUTTONS. VEHICLE HAS 173000 MILES ON IT. PURCHASED USED FROM BUCKEYE NISSAN. NOTICED ISSUES RIGHT AWAY BUT THEIR MECHANIC SAID THERE IS NOTHING COMING UP WHEN THEY HOOK UP THE DIAGNOSTICS. NO WARRANTY WHEN PURCHASED USED, THIS IS MY FIRST VEHICLE PURCHASE. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE FOR A YEAR THEN GOT THE SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL AND STABILITRACK READING AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO OVER 5 MPH. STILL PAYING PAYMENTS ON THE VEHICLE, I COULD NOT AFFORD TO TAKE IT TO A MECHANIC SO I PURCHASED A CHEAP CAR FROM A FRIEND AND THE ACADIA SAT IN MY DRIVE WAY FOR 2 YEARS. AFTER I PAID IT OFF I STARTED TO LOOK INTO REPAIRING IT. I PUT A NEW BATTERY IN IT AFTER IT SAT FOR SO LONG AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP AND DROVE LIKE THERE WAS NEVER AN ISSUE. I HAVE SINCE REPLACED THE TORQUE CONVERTER. STILL GET ENGINE LIGHT AND TRACTION CONTROL TURNS OFF AND SERVICE STABILITRACK READING BUT HAS NOT HAD IT SLOW DOWN TO 5 MPH AGAIN. NOW IF I DRIVE IN THE RAIN THE POWER STEERING CUTS IN AND OUT AND IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS IT HAPPENS AT ANY SPEED. I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL REVIEWS ON THIS VEHICLE THAT SAY THE SAME AS MINE. THE WORST PART IS THAT GM IS AWARE OF THESE ISSUES BUT WILL NOT ASSIST IN REPAIR IF THE VEHICLE HAS OVER A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF MILES ON IT.

- Components: AIR BAGS,STRUCTURE
- Summary: WHEN IT RAINS EITHER HEAVILY OR FOR LONG PERIODS IN CHICAGO MY GMC TENDS TO FLOOD IN THE PASSENGER FLOOR AND BY THE TV AND 3RD ROW LIGHTS. I HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE SINCE WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE IN 2013. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR FOR 6 YEARS AND I HAVE TAKEN IN TO A DEALERSHIP ONCE AND THEY QUOTED ME CLOSE TO $500 TO DO A TEST AND LET WATER RAIN ON THE CAR AND SEE IF IT IS A MANUFACTURE OR OWNER FAULTY ISSUE. I DID NOT JUMP ON TOP OF MY CAR AND CREATE A PROBLEM SO THAT MY CAR GETS FLOODED OR TO CAUSE THIS THAT I HAVE TO ALWAYS PLACE A TOWEL AND LEAVE MY WINDOWS OPEN AFTER SO THAT IT DOES NOT FOG THE ENTIRE CAR. I HAVE 4 CHILDREN AND DROPLETS HAVE FALLEN ON MY 7 MONTH OLD BABY WHILE I'M DRIVING. NO ONE CAN SIT IN THE PASSENGER SIDE. I HAVE HAD MY CAR DETAILED IN THE PAST SO THE MOLDING SMELL DOESN'T CAUSE MY KIDS TO WANT TO THROW UP. AIRBAGS SAY SERVICE AIRBAGS WHEN THEY HASN'T OPENED AND HASN'T GOTTEN INTO AN ACCIDENT IN THAT CAR. IT FRIGHTEN ME THAT I'M DRIVING A UNSAFE CAR WITH 4 CHILDREN. I CANNOT MAKE A REPAIR OF THAT AMOUNT NOR SHOULD I BE RESPONSIBLE TO HAVE THAT TESTED OUT.

2007 Gmc Acadia recalls
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 5 recalls for different components of the 2007 Gmc Acadia.
- Manufacturer: General Motors LLC
- Components: STRUCTURE:BODY:HATCHBACK/LIFTGATE
- Summary: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2008-2012 Buick Enclave vehicles manufactured January 3, 2007, to February 29, 2012, 2009-2012 Chevrolet Traverse vehicles manufactured July 6, 2008, to March 9, 2012, 2007-2012 GMC Acadia vehicles manufactured September 15, 2006, to February 29, 2012, and 2007-2010 Saturn Outlook vehicles manufactured August 17, 2006, to March 18, 2010. The affected vehicles, equipped with the power liftgate option, have gas struts that hold the power liftgate up when open. These struts may prematurely wear and the open liftgate may suddenly fall.
- Consequence: If the open liftgate unexpectedly falls, it may strike a person, increasing their risk of injury.
- Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will update the software for the power liftgate actuator motor control unit so that the motor will prevent the rapid closing of the lift gate, free of charge. The recall began on November 15, 2016. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782, and Saturn customer service at 1-800-553-6000. GM's number for this recall is 15240.

A RECALL WAS IMPLEMENTED IN 2008 TO ADD A FUSE TO THE CONTROL CIRCUIT HARNESS TO ADDRESS THE POTENTIAL CONSEQUENCES OF A PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD (PCB) ELECTRICAL SHORT. HOWEVER, THERE HAVE BEEN NEW REPORTS OF THERMAL INCIDENTS ON HWFS MODULES AFTER THIS IMPROVEMENT WAS INSTALLED. THESE INCIDENTS RESULTED FROM A NEW FAILURE MODE ATTRIBUTED TO THE DEVICE'S THERMAL PROTECTION FEATURE. THE SIGNIFICANCE VARIES FROM MINOR DISTORTION TO CONSIDERABLE MELTING OF THE PLASTIC AROUND THE HWFS FLUID CHAMBER.
- Consequence: IT IS POSSIBLE FOR THE HEATED WASHER MODULE TO IGNITE AND A FIRE MAY OCCUR.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL PERMANENTLY DISABLE AND REMOVE THE HEATED WASHER FLUID MODULE. AN UPDATED PAGE FOR THE OWNER MANUAL WILL BE PROVIDED AND INSERTED IN THE OWNER MANUAL TO DOCUMENT THAT THE FEATURE HAS BEEN PERMANENTLY DISABLED AND REMOVED FROM THE VEHICLE. Congratulations on your first child! It's great to hear that you took the time to find a reliable and safe SUV/CUV for your new addition. The vehicle you chose sounds amazing with its sharp black and white design and chrome accents. It's wonderful to hear that the ride is smooth and the engine is powerful. The interior sounds nicely refined and quiet, and the rear legroom is unrivaled by any other vehicle. The rear sliding seat is also a great feature for extra space. Overall, it sounds like you made a great choice at a reasonable price.

I have leased this car for 3 years and am sad to say goodbye to my Acadia. It has been a great family car - my kids loved the pull-down movie screen and my husband and I loved the headphones for peace and quiet! With fold down seats, plenty of room for transporting large items, but then you can only seat 2 people. Little storage space when all seats are up. We went on vacation last summer out east and had some difficulty fitting all our luggage in the back! Some complaints - low gas mileage 14-16 city, 22 highway, not enough storage space up front for driver - purse, office files etc..., lots of blind spots, when playing a movie, cannot put the sound only in the back, very loud up front!

I'm so happy with my new Acadia! The fit and finish are excellent, and the engine is powerful, smooth, and refined. I didn't experience any acceleration lag, which I know has been reported by others. I wonder if I'm just lucky or if GM has reprogrammed the transmission. Even my brother-in-law, who swore off American cars, was impressed by the car, as were my neighbors. The interior is so nice that most people couldn't believe it was a GM product. The ride is smooth, and it handles extremely well, especially considering its large size. It's much more fun to drive than a minivan and significantly more refined than an SUV. There's plenty of legroom in all three rows, and there's still room for luggage in the back.

Before you take a trip, make sure to read all the details in the manual. There are lots of buttons to learn about before you start using them. It's important not to rely solely on the Park Assist horn to warn you. Instead, keep an eye on the amber light and come to a complete stop when three lights are lit!

I recommend that GM investigate the transmission issue further, as it may be a significant factor in the lower than expected MPG. While I am currently experiencing an average of 14.7 MPG weekly, with the best MPG being 16.4, I am confident that this issue can be resolved. Despite this issue, I still love this car as it meets all of my other needs. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I recently took a 1,000 mile trip and unfortunately, it was not a pleasant experience. The tilted head of the seat kept hitting my head and I had a crick in my neck throughout the trip. The seats were quite firm and uncomfortable, and the lumbar support felt like it never released, causing both drivers on my trip to have backaches. However, I did appreciate the good visibility from the front window during the rainy weather. As someone who travels frequently, I regret purchasing this car. Additionally, the FM radio reception is poor, and XM radio must be paid for. The gas pedal is hard to push and requires a severe angle to reach, making the car slow and gas-consuming. Despite reading many positive reviews, I found this car to be uncomfortable and inefficient.

I bought my 2007 Acadia last May and unfortunately, it has been in the shop quite a bit. The transmission had a lag, so we took it in to get it repaired. They did a computer update, but about a month later, the transmission failed again. We took it back to the shop and they put in a new rebuilt transmission, but it still had a lag from 4th to 5th gear. So, we took it in again to have it looked at. The company increased the RPMs, which solved the problem. I went trouble-free for a few months, but now I'm experiencing issues with the steering. It seems to be something to do with the inside mechanism of the steering column. I'm starting to think that GM may have made a lemon here, especially after reading other people's complaints about the same issues.

I really like the look and feel of the 2007 Acadia. I purchased it in 2008 with only 30k miles on it and it was great at first. Unfortunately, we have had a few issues since then. We had to get the sunroof and heated wipers recalled and fixed. We also had to replace the struts at 80k miles and the front seal twice, which meant the motor had to be pulled twice. Additionally, we had to replace the transmission hoses and the radio once. We had to fight for further repairs several times before we discovered rusted and pinched areas. The driver seat slides, but we haven't had it in for repairs yet. The remote starter barely works, and to top it all off, I was driving home recently when I hit a rough patch of highway and my side impact airbags exploded without warning or reason.

I will not purchase another American-made car. My husband and I gave a chance to a 2007 GMC Acadia, but unfortunately, it required numerous repairs despite being only four years old. The issues we encountered included a leaking roof, malfunctioning seats, a broken tailgate, and a non-functional windshield.

Although my wife loves the car, I have some concerns. As a large man, I find the driver's seat somewhat cramped and uncomfortable. Despite properly inflated tires, the front tire sensors constantly display warnings about tire pressure or icy roads. Our oldest child has very little room in the third seat, and accessing the oil filter during servicing is difficult. Additionally, the transmission seems to be under a constant load and shifts frequently. The A/C also needs improvement.
