2015 Honda Fit problems
The Honda Fit (Japanese: ホンダ・フィット, Hepburn: Honda Fitto) or Honda Jazz is a small car manufactured and marketed by Honda since 2001 over four generations. It has a five-door hatchback body style and is considered a supermini in the United Kingdom, a subcompact car in the United States, and a light car in Australia. Marketed worldwide and manufactured at ten plants in eight countries, sales reached almost 5 million by mid-2013. Honda uses the "Jazz" nameplate in Europe, Oceania, the Middle East, Africa, Hong Kong, Macau, Southeast Asia and India; and "Fit" in Japan, Sri Lanka, China, Taiwan and the Americas.
Sharing Honda's global small car platform with the City, Airwave, first-generation Mobilio, Freed and HR-V/Vezel, the Fit is noted for its one-box or monospace design; forward-located fuel tank; configurable seats that fold in several ways to accommodate cargo in varying shapes and sizes— and cargo volume competitive to larger vehicles.
Honda released hybrid petrol-electric versions of the Fit in Japan in October 2010 and in Europe in early 2011. In 2012, Honda released the Fit EV, a limited-production all-electric version based on the second-generation model in the United States and Japan, and was widely regarded as a compliance car.
The fourth-generation model released in 2019 is currently sold in Japan, Europe, China, Taiwan, South Africa, Brunei and Singapore. Starting from 2020, the model was phased out in most Southeast Asian and Latin American countries to be replaced by the larger City Hatchback, while it was withdrawn entirely from the North American market due to falling demand within the subcompact segment.

Common 2015 Honda Fit problems
Based on complaints from owners of the Honda Fit 2015, several common problems have been reported:
- Starter Failure: Owners have experienced starter failure between 45,000 and 50,000 miles, leading to the need for a complete replacement of the starter, costing between $500 - $900. This issue can be a significant inconvenience and expense for owners.
- Engine Failure: Premature engine failure has been a top complaint, with affected vehicles stalling after running for a few miles, particularly in cold weather. Engine repairs can be costly, and this issue can lead to unexpected breakdowns and safety concerns for drivers.
- Clear-Coat Fading: Body paint fading and clear coat peeling have been reported, affecting the appearance of the vehicle. While this problem does not impact performance, it can be unsightly and may require repainting to maintain the car's aesthetic appeal.
- Oxygen Sensor Problems: Oxygen sensor issues have caused the check engine light to come on, leading to symptoms like decreased fuel mileage, engine misfiring, rough idling, and failed emissions tests. Replacing the oxygen sensor can cost between $600 - $800, adding to maintenance expenses.
- Solenoid Problems: Transmission solenoid issues have resulted in unpredictable gear shifts or delayed shifting, affecting the overall performance of the transmission. Addressing solenoid problems is crucial to ensure smooth operation of the transmission and avoid potential safety hazards.
- Bluetooth Connectivity Issues: Some owners have reported problems with Bluetooth connectivity, where phones are unable to connect or maintain a stable connection. While this issue may have simple solutions, it can be frustrating for drivers who rely on Bluetooth features in their vehicles.
These common problems with the Honda Fit 2015 highlight various issues that owners have faced, ranging from mechanical failures to cosmetic concerns. Addressing these problems promptly and proactively can help maintain the reliability and performance of the vehicle over time.
What is the most common problem with Honda Fit?
Many drivers have reported experiencing back and neck pain when driving their Honda Fit for long hours. Most point to the model's head restraints as the culprit because they're inclined forward, forcing the driver's head to tilt forward. Several drivers have also complained that the seats feel flat and unsupportive.
Is 2015 Honda Fit a good used car?
This car has excellent fuel efficiency, excellent power for a 1.5, and excellent features for an entry level vehicle. People complaining about infotainment on an entry level car are spoiled. The folding seats are awesome, and the interior in general is great.
How long do 2015 Honda Fits last?
We mentioned that the standard lifespan for the Honda Fit is around 150,000 miles. Thus, the high mileage for the car is anything over 100,000 miles. Once it reaches this point, it's far more likely to experience issues that cost more to repair than the car is worth for any driver.
What is the transmission problem on a 2015 Honda Fit?
On the 2014-2015 Civic and 2015 Fit, the continuously variable transmission (CVT) may have a weakened drive-pulley shaft (the part connected to the crankcase) that can break when exposed to high hydraulic pressure. This can result in power loss and even the front wheels locking up while driving.

SEAT BELTS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-09-19
- VIN: 3HGGK5H81FM
- Components: SEAT BELTS
- Summary: This has to do with the seatbelt retractor lock malfunctioning (not unlocking after being given back belt on slack). I have not reported to a dealer or police, but am happy for someone to inspect my vehicle. There were no warnings before this happened. My 9 year old child was in the back seat (passenger side) wearing the car seat belt, sitting in her booster seat. She was trying to remove her soccer kit to put on her bathing suit. The seat belt became wrapped around her body and twisted, cinching up at her waist. The retractor became locked and would not release any belt back out. Initially she had a fair amount of slack. I helped to release any tension from the line and fed back in about 2" of seat belt slowly without any tension, and then slowly tried to pull back out, but the retractor stayed locked. I attempted this several more times allowing >1" of belt back into the retractor at lest 3 times, but the locking mechanism never release, and the belt became dangerously tight on her abdomen. Eventually, my spouse came and held the belt in place (so it couldn't retract more) while I had my child curl up in a ball and I turned her whole body upside down to release the twist in the belt at her waist, and she was finally able to crawl free. It was very distressing that the standard mechanism for releasing the retractor lock (feeding the retractor more seat belt without tension, then slowly trying to pull some back out) was not working and there was no safety mechanism to release the lock.
ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-10-09
- VIN: 3HGGK5H86FM
- Components: ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
- Summary: VTC Actuator rattles at cold start. Dealer says may cause problem in the long run. Seems like manufacturing defect that Honda should fix
AIR BAGS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-08-04
- VIN: 3HGGK5H82FM
- Components: AIR BAGS
- Summary: Defective Driver Seat Airbag
UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-07-27
- VIN: 3HGGK5G87FM
- Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: The paint on my car is chipping off in huge chunks. It is painted with the NH788P the White Orchid Pearl Tricoat. I saw online that I was not the only one with this issue. The severity of this paint chipping can cause my car to rust out and it's outrageously costly to repaint the vehicle.
UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-06-05
- VIN: 3HGGK5H85FM
- Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: I see there is a recall related to a fault that may prevent the rearview camera image from booting up and being displayed on the dash for 2017 - 2020 Fits. While relatively uncommon, this also happens on my 2015 Fit. In addition, sometimes the Lane Watch feature shows the backup camera instead of the right side of the car when activated. This has happened for 10 years but only a handful of times per year. It generally corrects by shutting the car off and restarting it after a minute. It seems as the problem is not specific to the 2017 - 2020 Fit as I'm also having this issue.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-04-22
- VIN: 3HGGK5H80FM
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary: Fuel gauge/trip meter intermittently inoperative (blank or shows gibberish). When the fuel gauge and trip meter are inoperative, it’s not possible to determine the level of fuel in the tank. In this condition, the vehicle could run out of fuel without warning, causing an engine stall condition. If the engine stalls while the vehicle is being operated on a public highway, this condition increases the likelihood of a collision resulting in injury or death.
VISIBILITY/WIPER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-02-23
- VIN: 3HGGK5G84FM
- Components: VISIBILITY/WIPER
- Summary: Right rear passenger window spontaneously shattered. I heard a loud pop while driving. Didn’t see any damage when I returned home a few minutes later. About an hour later when I was pulling out of my garage the window simply shattered for no apparent reason. I took car to ACE auto glass for repair an they put a new window in but the regulator needs replacing an Geico is taking there time about processing my claim. I don’t have paperwork on repair as it hasn’t been completed. I do have pictures of broken window.
ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-03-10
- VIN: 3HGGK5H86FM
- Components: ENGINE
- Summary: While driving. the engine failed. Loss of power, smoke. Would not start. Entire engine compartment covered with oil. Car towed to mechanic. Who said a hole had been blowout the size of a fist. Engine would have to be replaced.
POWER TRAIN,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-02-10
- VIN: 3HGGK5H80FM
- Components: POWER TRAIN,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
- Summary: P219alA code appears; supposed fuel injector issue after trying smaller fixes (MAF sensor, air filter) with no luck. Just purchased from local dealer a few weeks ago.
STRUCTURE,SEATS,UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-11-01
- VIN: 3HGGK5H85FM
- Components: STRUCTURE,SEATS,UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: The floor of the driver seat and the floor of the front passenger seat continuously flood after it rains. I have dried the floors with a vacuum and checked for any potential leaks or blockages. However, I cannot find any blockages or leaks that are causing the floors of the car to flood, and it continues to flood after it rains. Besides the floors, nothing else is wet--the seats themselves are dry, and the steering wheel and dashboard all look dry. I am worried this water can lead to the floors rotting or retaining water and having mold--which will be a health concern.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-11-24
- VIN: 3HGGK5H58FM
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary: Digital fuel gage and odometer flickers intermittently or displays incorrect information
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-01-15
- VIN: 3HGGK5H88FM
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary: Main display that shows mileage, gas levels, maintenance needs, etc malfunctions - sometimes it goes wonky, sometimes it disappears altogether. It is obviously not safe to not see your maintenance lights or mileage to know when to predict the maintenance. The dealer I take the car to said unless they could replicate the issue, they couldn't do anything. The issue occurs intermittently, often in the middle of a drive, but not currently constant. There are many many other people tho on Honda forums who have this problem also, and theirs is constant, so it's just a matter of time for mine to be constant as well. The issue started earlier this year. There is no error code associated with it so there is no diagnosis for the dealer to give it.
POWER TRAIN PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-08-27
- VIN: 3HGGK5H89FM
- Components: POWER TRAIN
- Summary: Over last 2-3 years (50-70k miles), intermittent but now more consistent and loud grinding sound that lasts <1 second after push to start. Only occurs typically on a cold start (after engine has been sitting >12 hours, typically in garaged/cooler ambient temperature). Otherwise no issues with performance, no error messages. This is a known issue with VTC actuator (Honda released TSB 16-088) for this. I was told by the dealer that this can lead to catastrophic failure with the engine as it relates to the timing belt and the drivetrain. I was quoted $2100 for this repair. If it is true that there is a known defect that can lead to catastrophic failure, this should be covered by an extended warranty or recall.
FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-08-01
- VIN: 3HGGK5H87FM
- Components: FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
- Summary: My check engine light came on, but shut off by the time I was able to see a repair shop. I needed a smog, but they decided to check my car first to see why the light came on and went away. It had to do with the fuel injector/catalytic converter. He wanted me to drive it a bit and come back to see if it would go away. It did not, even though my lights remained off and the car was operating fine. Had I not needed the smog check, I would have canceled the appointment and not known. After doing research, it is common for fuel injectors on my car to fail due to a faulty part. Honda issued an extended warranty, but even after calling for more information, they were unhelpful. I ended up paying $3,000 to resolve this. My car is a 2015 and just hit 85k miles. Honda should be informing owners of this issue.
SERVICE BRAKES PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-06-26
- VIN: 3HGGK5H81FM
- Components: SERVICE BRAKES
- Summary: There is a very loud clunking or loud clicking sound coming from the front right brakes. I took the vehicle to the dealership to be looked at 4 times and the final determination was it was a brake clicking which the service advisor described as normal. The noise is so loud specially when cold it feels like something is going to break at some point. He said the manufacturer did this on purpose to keep the brakes from overheating. I have done some research and it has happened to many other Honda owners as well. It just feels so unsafe to drive a vehicle with that noise every time you drive it specially when its brakes related.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-06-28
- VIN: 3HGGK5G85FM
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
- Summary: Before I parked, all was fine and the car felt safe, two hours later, I start the car and it has four warning lights on. Now I don't have Hill Start Assist and the car feels like it might 'go out' on me, I think something will keep it from running soon. About two weeks prior, even with keys in the car and with a full battery in both the keys and car, the car doesn't start with the first push of the 'engine start' button (maybe there is a connection here). O'Reilly helped me check the codes, and it states that I should replace the Ignition Coil, as well as the Throttle Body and it is giving the code, P0303: Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected. After some research online, it seems like the Fuel Injectors might need to be replaced as the ones that come with Honda tend to malfunction. Perhaps the TSBs (www.truedelta.com/Honda-Fit-tsbs-99,2015) should be put into consideration. I believe this is what has caused the Hill Start Assist to stop working which further makes me feel like the vehicle is unsafe to drive for me and for others. We are both put at risk because I am not sure what will happen with it next. I live where there are a lot of hills, Hill Start Assist was a huge factor as to why I thought this car would be safe to drive here. I have yet to visit a Dealer or Independent Service Center. The Vehicle has been inspected by O'Reilly's Code Scanner only and myself. In the attached pictures, one is showing the warning lights that now come on at the start of the car, and the other is showing about a minute later how another light turns on.
POWER TRAIN PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-06-02
- VIN: 3HGGK5H51FM
- Components: POWER TRAIN
- Summary: The contact owns a 2015 Honda Fit. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle started decelerating. Additionally, while the accelerator pedal was depressed, the engine revved, but the vehicle failed to accelerate. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V574000 (Power Train). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 108,000.
ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-03-16
- VIN: 3HGGK5H86FM
- Components: ENGINE
- Summary: The contact owns a 2015 Honda Fit. The contact stated while his daughter was driving 40 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power, and there were abnormally loud sounds coming from the engine. The contact's daughter was able to drive to her residence. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for an oil change; however, the mechanic diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the variable valve timing control (VTC) actuator was damaged, causing metal fragments to damage the engine. The dealer diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 108,000.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-04-03
- VIN: 3HGGK5H87FM
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary: my fuel gauge display went out. Pretty much always at least once a trip. Sometimes it starts when I turn the car on, sometimes it's after I've driven 20 miles. The display stays backlit, but all the information (time, fuel gauge, odometer, temp) disappears.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EXTERIOR LIGHTING,UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-04-01
- VIN: 3HGGK5H59FM
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EXTERIOR LIGHTING,UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: The fuel guage/mileage/mpg display flickers on and off intermittently. Sometimes it displays properly, sometimes it displays gibberish and sometimes nothing at all. There really is no correlations to be made as to why it is doing this, it can happen any day at any time or not at all. 2015 Honda Fit
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-03-19
- VIN: 3HGGK5H81FM
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary: In cold temperatures the LCD screen in the vehicle’s gauge cluster will report corrupted information or display none at all. This is the only method of viewing the vehicles odometer. Therefore, it is impossible to tell the vehicle’s mileage under certain (cold) conditions. This issue is caused by cracking solder points on a logic board and is a well-known fault of this generation of vehicle, meaning there are a wide array of 3rd generation Honda Fits that fail to properly report their proper Odometer mileage.
STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-03-06
- VIN: 3HGGK5G81FM
- Components: STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES
- Summary: Driving down the highway yesterday at 75 mph. Car said check starter system. Started blinking. All dash lights and system turned off then on then off again. Power steering went off. Car died while going 75 mph. Abs system went down with it too. Had to hard steer and shift down. Parked on side of highway on shoulder. Towed to mechanic who said it's the alternator. Fit has about 125000 miles on it. The start switch was replaced 3 times recall then faulty by Honda dealership. Then the starter needed to be replaced by Honda dealership. Then the battery twice by O'Reilly. Now the alternator by my mechanic. This is not usual for Hondas to have to replace all of those. Seems as though this is a faulty starter system manufacturing. I could've died, had I not been trained by the military on what to do if vehicle lost power.
POWER TRAIN PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-09-26
- VIN: 3HGGK5H87FM
- Components: POWER TRAIN
- Summary: While waiting at a light I had difficulty accelerating when it turned green. Car started bucking and I made it home and backed the car in the driveway. Turned it back on, put it in drive and then tried to back up and it wouldn't. Had the car towed to a local Honda dealership where it was diagnosed that the transmission was shot. My car only had 95,000 miles on it, I am the original owner and have been vigilant with all maintenance and any repairs. I reached out to Honda Corporate to lodge a complaint with the hopes that they might assist with the repair. Honda refused and I ended up paying $5600 for the transmission to be replaced. I would like to add that it took a month for the dealership to obtain the transmission because Honda was out of them which I find interesting. The transmission was on backorder so how many other Hondas had the same problem? My argument was that there was a recall on transmissions on some Fits and Civics from 2015 but my VIN fell outside of the parameters of that recall. After the transmission failure, I disagree. This was the second Fit I had purchased as I had a great experience with my first one. I will never purchase another Honda vehicle after the way that they dismissed my concerns.
ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-02-01
- VIN: 3HGGK5H88FM
- Components: ENGINE
- Summary: 2015 HONDA FIT. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD DEFECTIVE STOP/START IGNITION SWITCH.
STRUCTURE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-10-07
- VIN: 3HGGK5H89FM
- Components: STRUCTURE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
- Summary: CAR LOSES POWER WHEN ACCELERATING BELOW 20 MPH. ENGINE STILL ON BUT WHEN STEPPING ON GAS PEDAL NO ACCELERATION. PEDAL IS FIRM BUT NO GAS. LOOKS LIKE IAM PUSHING AIR. I HAVE TO LIFT MY FOOT OFF AND ACCELERATE AGAIN IN ORDER TO KEEP THE CAR GOING. VERYSCARY AND DANGEROUS WHEN CHANGING LANES. ALSO, ANOTHER ISSUE... PAINT COMMING OFF ON A LOT OF LOCATIONS. COTACTED THE LOCAL DEALER AND SINCE I WAS NOT THE ORIGINAL OWNER THEY WONT FIX IT. VERY DISPOINNTED WITH HONDA LOAST CAR TO BUY AS HONDA. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Negative 2015 Honda Fit car reviews
Positive 2015 Honda Fit car reviews

The new Fit is a class leader in every way. It boasts excellent driving dynamics, unbelievable packaging, a refined drive, and a powerful engine. In fact, it outperforms any car in its category, period. It's frustrating when the only criticism someone can level at a car is that they object to the styling, as it shows a lack of intelligence. By the way, to my eye, it looks pretty darned good. The EX without leather is the best deal - just add a Garmin and go!

My wife and I bought the new Fit in February 2015. Despite the harsh winter in the northeast, the Fit performed great. It's an excellent car for commuting, comfortable (for a reasonable amount of time, see below), and has great fuel economy. On the highway, it's easy to get in excess of 41 mpg. With careful driving, I've been able to get upwards of 45+mpg. I've never paid more than $33.00 to fill it up, averaging well over 300 miles to a tank of fuel. Another thing I really enjoy about this car is the way it handles. I also own a BMW 3 Series, which is one of the best handling cars available (for under 60k), and this little Fit handles the curves pretty well in comparison. I was quite surprised at first; I expected a lot of body roll, seeing the car is so tall, one would think it rode top-heavy...not so the case. The ride is smooth, and I have no complaints with road or wind noise. There are only a few gripes I have with the car. One seems to be a common trend in the reviews I've read, and that is the comfort of the seats. They are okay for the commute to work (35/40 min), but anything over two hours or so, and I start to get rather uncomfortable. Also, the touch screen radio is very cool, but not good if you have OCD about fingerprints on your electronics. It's also a little fussy to use and get used to, but that's why there are buttons on the steering wheel. All in all, I love this car. I didn't think I did, and we only got it because my wife wanted it and we needed a second car. Now I'm the only one that drives it, and we are extremely pleased with it thus far.

The 2005 Scion tC is one of the best values in the market. My wife and I loved it and we made sure to get the most out of every drop of gas by leaving it on Econ mode, which helped us average 38 mpg. The back seats are spacious enough for tall men, and we were able to fit two cat crates, a tall item, and luggage with ease. We even managed to fit a queen headboard in there! The rear camera is also perfect, especially in our EX model. All these amazing features for under $20K after fees? Incredible! However, after four years, we did experience a few recalls and the electronic dash went on the fritz in cold weather more than once, which was unexpected. Despite that, it was still a great value. It's worth noting that the MPG drops quite a bit in low temperatures, but I suspect that happens to all cars. My only major wish was that it was a hybrid or electric vehicle. As of late 2020, we sold it in place of an EV.

I've owned all generations of the Honda Fit, and I must say that the 2015 model is the best one yet. I started with the 07 model, which was a really good car with amazing interior space. Then I upgraded to the 2011 Honda Fit Sport, which was even more comfortable and had a better design. But when I saw the 2015 model, I just had to test drive it. After driving it, I knew I had to have it. My favorite features are the sunroof, push button start/off, 6-speed transmission, and of course, the magic seats. Despite having a small 1.5 engine, this car performs really well. It's also great in the snow. I'm 6'3

I absolutely love owning this little car! It has proven to be incredibly reliable, with the only cost of ownership being oil changes. The battery did die on me once, but that was mainly because I didn't drive it for a month. Some models come with smaller batteries, so it might be a good idea to replace it with a larger one. However, if you drive regularly, this won't be an issue at all. While some people complain about road noise, I personally don't find it too bad, and the cabin has plenty of room. The storage in this car is amazing! I've been able to haul 60-inch TVs, 6-8 ft pieces of wood, and all kinds of stuff. As a hockey player who sometimes carpools, I can attest that with the seats down, we can fit 2/3 bags in the back, and the third adult is comfortable. All in all, it's a sporty car that's great on gas and fits in small parking spots. If you're in the market for a reliable compact car, no other brand can stand up to this car or lineup!

After driving 5,000 miles over the course of three months, I have found that I am getting 41.5mpg using the tripmeter/fill up method, while the car reports 44.4mpg. Although I have encountered a few issues, such as fleas that I was able to get rid of with a flea bomb and daily vacuuming for a week, and the HVAC emitting unpleasant smells for the first few minutes of running, which I have addressed with A/C disinfectant and taken to the dealer twice. I am hopeful that the issue has been resolved after the second service, but if it persists, I will request a refund. Additionally, I discovered that the cabin air filter installed at the plant was incorrect. Despite these setbacks, I am still enjoying my car and look forward to future adventures!

I recently purchased a brand new Fit and was initially impressed by its magic seats, cargo flexibility, and abundance of standard features on the base model. However, I have encountered some reliability issues that have made owning this car a bit of a nightmare. These issues have mostly been odd trim and electrical problems, such as exterior trim breaking and taillights filling with water. While it may not be the most refined subcompact on the market, it is perfect for city life. It's easy to park, economical, and can haul loads of gear. It's worth noting that Honda has recently started building the Fit at an all-new plant in Mexico, and some quality issues have arisen as a result.

My starter system failed at 36k miles and the dealer is charging me $1200. The LED display disappears in cold weather and the noise inside the cabin is excessive even for minor road imperfections. However, I still have faith in Honda and will consider other models before switching to Toyota or Ford.

This car has been a huge disappointment. The materials are cheap and there are lots of little cracks and wear well above what should be for a newer car. The paint seems 'soft' and chips very easily. The windshield cracked where the mirror attaches while I was adjusting it. The battery went bad at 35,800 miles - just under the warranty. However, the biggest issue has been the windshield wipers. The motor went out at 49,000 miles, which is unacceptable. The part alone costs $750, making the total cost over $1000 to fix the windshield wipers on a three-year-old car. This experience has led me to lose faith in Honda's products and I will be exploring other options in the future.

If you're considering buying this car, I recommend taking it for a test drive for as long as possible. It's important to ensure that you feel comfortable and pain-free while driving. While I personally did not experience any discomfort during my initial test drive, after a 2-hour drive, I began to feel tingling and burning in my right foot. Unfortunately, a year later, I am still experiencing pain in my leg, foot, and hip while driving and am considering selling the car. However, it's worth noting that I drove a Honda '83 for 15 years without any issues, so the driver seat may work for some. Just be sure to test it out for yourself before making a purchase.
