ONCE THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP. I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND CONTINUED DRIVING CAUTIOUSLY. DRIVING AT A SLOWER RATE, 35-40MPH, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO JOLT AGAIN AND HAD DIFFICULTY ACCELERATING. AFTER SEVERAL DAYS OF THIS ISSUE, I CLEANED THE BATTERY TERMINALS TO ENSURE THERE WAS A GOOD CONNECTION. I THOUGHT THE ISSUE WAS RESOLVED. AT THIS POINT I HAD HALF A TANK. A COUPLE DAYS LATER, I WAS ON EMPTY. I FILLED UP THE VEHICLE FOR THE WEEK. MY VEHICLE IS NOW JOLTING AND SURGING AGAIN. I WAS ALMOST HOME, WHEN THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF, I LOST POWER STEERING AGAIN AND THE BREAKS WERE NOT WORKING. I AGAIN PULLED THE STEERING WHEEL, AS HARD AS I COULD TO THE RIGHT, TO GET OFF THE ROAD AS AN ONCOMING CAR WAS JUST AHEAD. - Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL A SHIELD OVER THE FRONT LATCHES; SEAL A DRAIN HOLE IN THE REAR WINDOW TRIM MOLDING ON THE FREESTYLE REAR SIDE DOORS; AND APPLY GREASE TO ALL FRONT AND REAR SIDE-DOOR LATCH MECHANISMS FREE OF CHARGE. I absolutely adore my car! I bought it back in 2009 from a dealer when it had around 50,000 miles on it. Although there was a transmission issue that arose 3 years ago, the Ford dealership repaired it for free as it was a recall issue. Apart from that, I have only had to replace the tires twice and the brakes once, just last month. I affectionately call my car 'Gypsy', and even though the GPS is outdated, it still has around 192,000 miles on it and is running pretty strong. I make sure to get my oil changed every 5,000 miles and use high mileage oil, which has kept my car worry-free. The only downside is that they don't make this model anymore, and I have no idea what to replace it with when the time comes. I just hope it lasts for another 200,000 miles! Unfortunately, someone ran a stop sign and totaled my beloved Gypsy, but the good news is that no one was injured. I really wish Ford still made this vehicle, as I would buy it again and again. In fact, I don't think I could ever own anything else!

Just hit 55,000 miles with no major problems. Love taking this car on weekend road trips or even drove cross country a couple of times. Second row seat gets stuck sometimes, but it's not a big deal. I really appreciate how the third row seat flips up or down depending on what I am hauling. The 3.0 engine is good enough, but a little more power would have been nice.

I researched many vehicles, including Crossover/SUV's, but for the price, I could not find anything better than the Freestyle. The interior looks great and is finished off nicely. It is very comfortable and roomy, with more than adequate power and superb handling. It's also fun to drive. The only drawback I have found is that there is a reflection of the dash in the windshield during daylight hours, but I can live with it. Overall, I think Ford has a winner here and they should promote it more.

I bought this car new and it has been a fantastic purchase. It is the most versatile vehicle I have ever owned, easily converting from a comfortable people hauler to a cargo hauler in seconds. The ride is very comfortable and the gas mileage is decent. After 70K+ miles, I am only on my second set of tires and they still have plenty of tread left. I have had no problems whatsoever with this car and the comfort, ride, and power are more than adequate. While the climate control system controls are small and hard to see and adjust while underway, the AWD is a necessity for living in Maine and it works great. This vehicle is unstoppable in snow and the CVT has worked perfectly with no issues. Overall, this is a great car!

I went from a Kia to a Freestyle. Although we initially wanted a van, this vehicle has exceeded our expectations with its ample storage space, power, and even cup holders. Additionally, the great sound system is a bonus. It's worth noting that this vehicle has received a 5-star safety award, which has saved me a lot on my insurance. I just wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude to whoever is in charge and designed this vehicle. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. My 5-year-old daughter is also grateful for all the extra room.

I purchased a 2006 Ford Freestyle SE AWD with CVT six months ago. Unfortunately, the power steering pump failed and had to be replaced. Shortly after, I noticed some noise coming from the rack and pinion steering, so I took it in to be looked at. The mechanic informed me that the front sub frame of the car was completely rotted out and it was unsafe to drive. I had to replace the sub frame at a cost of $1000.00 plus labor (used sub frame). However, the rest of the frame is still strong. It seems that the sub frame must have been rotted for years. Despite these issues, I am still happy with my six year old car. I did have to replace the front brakes and a seized caliper, but that is to be expected with any car of this age.

Although there have been some issues with this car/suv, I can confidently say that it has been a reliable mode of transportation. At 119,000 miles, the transmission is currently experiencing some problems, but I am confident that it can be resolved. Additionally, the air conditioning has required some maintenance, but it has been resolved each time. While I have had to replace a few batteries over the years, the tires have been the only part that has worn out more quickly than expected. Despite some minor issues with the electronic features and windows, I still believe that this car/suv is a good investment. However, it is important to keep up with regular maintenance to ensure its longevity.

My husband and I purchased this vehicle two years ago as a trade-in for a Ford Mustang. Despite being quite pleased with it, we unfortunately encountered some issues this year. We replaced all tires at 38,000 miles in October, followed by an alternator at 39,000 miles in November. Recently, the car broke down on the highway just three days before Christmas, and we were informed that the transmission needs to be replaced. Despite the car having only 40,000 miles on it, it is unfortunately past the 3-year/36,000 miles warranty by 5 months and 4,000 miles. While the dealerships agreed that it shouldn't have happened so soon, Ford seemed unwilling to help us. However, I have registered a formal complaint and will be following up. I remain confident that this issue will be resolved. It's worth noting that my Corolla, which is 10 years old, has had no problems. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
