The original Chrysler FirePower Hemi engine powered the Cunningham C-5R, a special racecar, and finished the 1952 Le Mans, 1953 Le Mans, and 1954 Le Mans endurance races, as well as the 1953 12 Hours of Sebring.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 4 recalls for different components of the 2008 Chrysler 300.
- Manufacturer: Chrysler (FCA US LLC)
- Components: AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:PASSENGER SIDE:INFLATOR MODULE
- Summary: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) expanded the affected population to include 73,712 2005-2009 RAM 2500 trucks produced at the St. Louis North Assembly Plant. With this change, Chrysler is recalling certain model year 2004-2008 RAM 1500, 2005-2009 RAM 2500, 2006-2009 RAM 3500, 2007-2010 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis, 2008-2010 RAM 4500 and 5500 Cab Chassis, 2004-2009 Dodge Durango, 2007-2009 Chrysler Aspen, 2007-2012 Jeep Wrangler, 2008-2012 Dodge Challenger, 2005-2008 Dodge Magnum, 2005-2012 Chrysler 300, 2006-2012 Dodge Charger, 2005-2011 Dodge Dakota, and 2006-2009 Mitsubishi Raider vehicles originally sold, or ever registered, in AL, CA, FL, GA, HI, LA, MS, SC, TX, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands (Saipan), and the U.S. Virgin Islands, or "Zone A." Additionally, unless included in "Zone A" above, Chrysler is also recalling 2004-2008 RAM 1500, 2005-2009 RAM 2500, 2006-2009 RAM 3500, 2007-2009 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis, 2008-2009 RAM 4500 and 5500 Cab Chassis, 2004-2009 Dodge Durango, 2007-2009 Chrysler Aspen, 2007-2009 Jeep Wrangler, 2008-2009 Dodge Challenger, 2005-2008 Dodge Magnum, 2005-2009 Chrysler 300, 2006-2009 Dodge Charger, 2005-2009 Dodge Dakota and 2006-2009 Mitsubishi Raider vehicles originally sold, or ever registered, in AZ, AR, DE, Washington D.C., IL, IN, KS, KY, MD, MO, NE, NV, NJ, NM, NC, OH, OK, PA, TN, VA, and WV, or "Zone B." Lastly, unless included in "Zone A" or "Zone B" above, Chrysler is recalling certain 2005-2008 RAM 2500, 2006-2008 RAM 3500, 2007-2008 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis, 2008 RAM 4500 and 5500 Cab Chassis, 2004-2008 Dodge Durango, 2007-2008 Chrysler Aspen, 2007-2008 Jeep Wrangler, 2008 Dodge Challenger, 2005-2008 Dodge Magnum, 2005-2008 Chrysler 300, 2006-2008 Dodge Charger, 2005-2008 Dodge Dakota, and 2006-2008 Mitsubishi Raider vehicles originally sold, or registered, in AK, CO, CT, ID, IA, ME, MA, MI, MN, MT, NH, NY, ND, OR, RI, SD, UT, VT, WA, WI, and WY.
- Consequence: These vehicles are equipped with certain air bag inflators assembled as part of the passenger frontal air bag modules, and used as original equipment or replacement equipment. These inflators may rupture due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to absolute humidity and temperature cycling. An inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
- Remedy: Chrysler will notify the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and RAM owners. Mitsubishi owners will be notified by their company. Dealers will replace the passenger frontal air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall began on March 27, 2017. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S43. Note: This recall supersedes recall 14V-7700.

- Summary: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2005-2009 Dodge Ram 2500, 2004-2008 Dodge Ram 1500 and Durango, 2006-2009 Dodge Ram 3500, 2008-2010 Dodge Ram 4500 and 5500, 2007-2008 Chrysler Aspen, 2005-2010 Chrysler 300, 300C, 300S, and SRT8, 2006-2010 Dodge Charger, 2005-2008 Magnum, 2005-2011 Dodge Dakota, and 2006-2009 Mitsubishi Raider vehicles. The affected vehicles are equipped with a dual-stage driver frontal air bag that may be susceptible to moisture intrusion which, over time, could cause the inflator to rupture.
- Consequence: In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the driver's frontal air bag, the inflator could rupture with metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
- Remedy: Chrysler will notify the affected Chrysler and Dodge owners and Mitsubishi will notify the affected Raider owners. Dealers will replace the driver's frontal air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall began for Chrylser on June 8, 2015. The recall for Mitsubishi started on June 24, 2015. Chrysler and Dodge owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Mitsubishi owners may call 1-888-648-7820. Chrysler's number for this recall is R25. Note: This recall supersedes recall 14V817 in its entirety. Vehicles that have had their driver side frontal air bag replaced previously need to have their air bag replaced under this recall as well.

- Summary: Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2008 Chrysler 300 vehicles manufactured May 31, 2007, to May 12, 2008, Dodge Magnum vehicles manufactured May 23, 2007, to May 12, 2008, Dodge Charger vehicles manufactured May 24, 2007, to May 12, 2008, Jeep Commander vehicles manufactured April 3, 2007, to May 12, 2008, and Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles manufactured March 21, 2007, to May 12, 2008. In the affected vehicles, the ignition key (FOBIK) may not return to the "ON" position after being rotated to the "START" position, instead sticking between the two positions. Potentially, while the vehicle is being driven, the ignition may inadvertently move through the "RUN" position to the "ACCESSORY" or "OFF" ignition position, turning off the engine.
- Consequence: If the ignition stays between "START" and "ON" positions it could cause loss of certain electrical functions. If the ignition key inadvertently moves into the "OFF" or "ACCESSORY" position, the engine will turn off, which will then depower various key safety systems including but not limited to air bags, power steering, and power braking. Loss of functionality of these systems may increase the risk of crash and/or increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
- Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ignition switch and key FOBs, free of charge. The recall began August 19, 2015. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is P57.

- Components: POWER TRAIN:AXLE HUBS
- Summary: CHRYSLER IS RECALLING 5,509 MY 2008 300, DODGE MAGNUM, AND CHARGER VEHICLES. THE TORQUE RETENTION CRIMP FEATURE WAS MISSED DURING THE MANUFACTURE OF ONE LOT OF REAR AXLE HUB NUTS. THIS COULD CAUSE THE NUTS TO LOOSEN AND ALLOW THE HALFSHAFT TO DISENGAGE FROM THE WHEEL HUB.
- Consequence: THIS COULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO LOSE POWER AND RESULT IN A CRASH WITHOUT WARNING.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE REAR AXLE HUB NUTS. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JULY 21, 2008. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CHRYSLER AT 1-800-853-1403.

I have had this vehicle for a few months now and I am absolutely thrilled with it. It's not just fun to drive, but it always seems to turn heads wherever I go. The lifetime powertrain warranty was the cherry on top for me. I will definitely be purchasing another Chrysler in the future.

I love my Hemi! It's such a great car. I used to have an '01 Avalon, which was a bit more luxurious, but the Hemi handles so much better and really turns heads. The Avalon looked too similar to other Toyotas, so people didn't realize it was top of the line. The Hemi, on the other hand, looks and feels amazing and is a much better value. Plus, it gets just as good gas mileage as my old Avalon. I used to be a die-hard Toyota fan, but this car has completely changed my mind. I absolutely love it!

This car is amazing! It's incredibly comfortable, powerful, and fast (although I might need to watch my speed!). The handling is great and the ride quality is excellent. The steering is responsive, although it can feel a bit numb at times. Even with mixed driving, I'm averaging over 20 MPG - and that's just in the first 1,000 miles! The upgraded Boston Acoustics stereo is definitely worth the investment - it turns the car into a rolling sound studio. The build quality is exceptional, especially for an American car. I can't think of any downsides to this car, except maybe the gas mileage - but that's to be expected with a 5.7L V-8.

I myself have a 2007 300 Touring and I absolutely love it! It provides a very smooth ride and is incredibly comfortable. Even my 6-foot-tall children can ride in it with ease. I highly recommend this car to anyone who wants style, class, and comfort all in one package!

I leased this beautiful car 2 months and 3000 miles ago. I compared it to many foreign and domestic sedans before making my choice and I have not regretted it for a single minute. The car is simply amazing to drive and look at. The Hemi power is as advertised and in my opinion, much better than the GM 4.6l northstar or any of the high output V6's. The size is perfect for me and my family of 3 kids. The ride around town or all day drives are incredibly comfortable. The car has luxury items like Bluetooth, navigation, and an incredible stereo (the 370 watt stereo w/ mygig is just nuts!). I have owned a lot of vehicles over the years, but nothing compares to this. Okay, I'm running out of adjectives!

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with two company fleet vehicles, the 2008 Impala LT and the 08 300 LX. Both cars are great, but I found the Impala to handle better and have more features like auto headlights, dual climate controls, flex fuel, and remote start as standard. The 300, on the other hand, is roomier and has a distinctive look. However, I did find it to be boring to drive, similar to Buick LeSabre, Ford, or Mercury rear drive cars. While the 2.7 motor in the 300 is okay when cruising, it struggles on hills and doesn't hold a center line very well, making it susceptible to cross winds. Personally, I would have preferred a hemi and sport suspension! Thanks for listening to my thoughts.

Hello! I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to share my experience with the 2008 - 300C SRT design. In my opinion, it's one of the most beautiful cars in history! However, I did have some trouble with its reliability. Despite hearing warnings about Chrysler, I was sold on the looks and hoped that the engine being built by Mercedes would make it a safer purchase. Unfortunately, I spent an average of $4000 a year just on fixing malfunctions. Electric parts failed constantly, and I found myself hoping for a successful engine start each time I turned the ignition on (due to a mysterious flaw which +3 official dealers couldn't fix). My dealer informed me that the car had an officially recognized defect, but somehow, Chrysler avoided having to pay the costs of fixing that issue. I contacted them directly and was left extremely disappointed in their customer service. While it's a drop-dead gorgeous car, I don't think it's worth the agonizing unreliability. Hopefully, my experience can help others avoid the pain. Just keep in mind that this is my personal experience and your own may differ. Thank you for reading!

The car has a nicely styled exterior with narrow windows, although this can result in limited visibility which may be a concern for some drivers. The interior is spacious and comfortable, although some may find it a bit bland. The V6 engine provides good acceleration and is surprisingly fuel efficient, achieving 22-24 mpg in mostly suburban driving. While the handling is only adequate and requires some effort, the car's long wheelbase can make it a smooth ride. Overall, the car has its pros and cons, but it may be a good fit for those looking for a spacious and comfortable ride.

In October 2008, I purchased a car with 30,000 miles on it. Within two months, both tie rods had to be replaced under warranty. In January 2009, I noticed a loud ticking noise from the engine, similar to lifters going bad. In March 2009, I had to replace the tie rod on the left side again, which was still under warranty. By March 2010, a very loud clunky sound was coming from the front end. I took it to the dealer, and they reported that the left and right tension arms, left and right sway bars, and right tie rod end were shot. Unfortunately, the warranty only covers up to 50,000 miles, and I have 61,000 miles on the car. In comparison, I also own a 97 Chevy Lumina with 63,000 miles on it, and it has not had nearly as many problems as the 300. Despite what some mechanics have said, I believe that the issues with the car will only get worse, and I am considering getting rid of it.
