2012 Lincoln Mks problems
The Lincoln MKS is a full-sized luxury sedan that was manufactured and marketed by the Lincoln subdivision of Ford from 2008 to 2016. First shown at the LA Auto Show in November 2007, the MKS began production for the 2009 model year at Ford's Chicago Assembly plant in May 2008 with sales beginning a month later. The MKS was the second Lincoln to adopt the "MK" nomenclature and the first model to wear it through its entire production run. With the discontinuation of the Lincoln Town Car in 2011, the MKS at 205.6-inches in length became the longest production sedan sold by an American automaker through 2016.
Sharing the Ford D3 platform with the fifth and sixth-generation Ford Taurus, the Lincoln MKS offered front-wheel drive with optional all-wheel drive (a first in a full-size Lincoln). Shared with the Taurus SHO, the 3.5L EcoBoost twin-turbocharged V6 became the first turbocharged gasoline engine in a Lincoln.
The Lincoln MKS was discontinued after 2016 and replaced by the tenth generation Lincoln Continental.

- Radio concerns: Some owners have reported issues with the radio, including difficulty tuning stations, poor reception, and occasional malfunctions. These issues could be due to a variety of factors, such as faulty wiring, software bugs, or hardware problems.
- Grunting noises from the front brakes: A number of 2012 Lincoln MKS owners have reported hearing grunting noises from the front brakes, which can be quite concerning. This issue could be caused by worn-out brake pads, damaged brake rotors, or other brake system components that need to be replaced. It is essential to address this problem promptly, as it can lead to more severe issues and compromise the safety of the vehicle.
- Fluid leak from the axle area: Some owners have reported fluid leaks from the axle area, which can be a sign of a more significant problem with the drivetrain. This issue could be caused by a damaged seal, a leaking differential, or a problem with the CV joint. If left unaddressed, it can lead to more severe damage and expensive repairs.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,STRUCTURE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2013-08-29
- Crash: 1
- VIN: 1LNHL9FTXCG
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,STRUCTURE
- Summary: I STOPPED THE CAR IN MY GARAGE AND PUSHED THE KEYLESS IGNITION BUTTON, BUT DID NOT PUT THE CAR IN PARK. I EXITED THE CAR AND IT SLOWLY COASTED DOWN THE DRIVEWAY AND INTO A DEEP GULLY.. THE DAMAGE TO THE CAR FROM THE ACCIDENT AND THE WRECKERS GETTING IT OUT OF THE GULLY WAS $14,400. I HAVE SINCE LEARNED MOST WELL-ENGINEERED CARS, EXCLUDING FORD/LINCOLN, LOCK THE BREAKS OR PUT THE CAR INTO PARK IF THE KEYLESS IGNITION BUTTON IS PUSHED BEFORE THE CAR IS PUT INTO PARK. (EXAMPLES OF WELL ENGINEERED CARS INCLUDE BMW AND TOYOTA PRIUS WITH RESPECT TO THIS ISSUE.) THIS IS A MAJOR ENGINEERING SAFETY ISSUE. A DRIVER CAN PARK A FORD PRODUCT ON A HILL, PUSH THE IGNITION BUTTON TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE, BUT NOT PUT THE CAR IN PARK, AND EXIT THE CAR AND THE CAR WILL COAST DOWN THE HILL HITTING ANYTHING OR ANYBODY IN ITS PATH. I BELIEVE FORD SHOULD ENGINEER THEIR CARS SO THIS OVERSIGHT WILL NOT RESULT IN SUBSTANTIAL PROPERTY DAMAGE OR, WORSE, DEATH OF INNOCENT PEOPLE. CLEARLY OTHER MANUFACTURERS HAVE CHOSEN TO DEAL WITH THIS SAFETY ISSUE. *TR

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to let you know that my Lincoln is in excellent condition. It's always been kept in the garage and my wife only uses it to commute to work and back home. The 2010 Lincoln MKS Sedan is a really nice car and it's very luxurious to drive. The exterior is a beautiful silver and the interior has black leather seats. It's fully loaded with many upgrade options, including a dual moonroof and navigation system. I'm actually planning to trade it in for a 2016 or 2017 Lincoln model. Thanks for your time!

Driving this car is such a pleasure, no matter the speed or surface. The Sync system is incredibly user-friendly. This is hands down my favorite vehicle I've ever owned. I test drove everything in its class before purchasing and I was thrilled to be able to buy the best American car.

The interior is really comfortable. The ecoboost engine has great acceleration and good fuel efficiency. I've averaged about 21 mpg so far, which is pretty good considering its V-8 power. The GPS and travel link are really nice. Overall, this is a fantastic car!
-
This is the greatest car I have ever owned! I am so happy that I didn't go with a brand new 300. The only issue I have is the lack of visibility when backing up, but the great sensors keep me happy. I love my car so much!

The Lincoln MKS is a great car, and it's very spacious too. However, one of the biggest cons (for me) is how it rides. Going over bumpy roads can be quite unpleasant, as it feels like I'm on a boat and the car rocks back and forth.

I own a 2011 MKS with the 3.5 Ecoboost. While it is a comfortable car for my family of four, I have had some issues with it. The brakes wear out quickly and the motor went in the steering column, requiring a replacement. The brake booster also went out, which took a few trips to the shop to identify. However, I found that switching to a set of carbon ceramic Powerstop brakes was a worthwhile investment to keep them functioning properly on a day to day basis. The timing chain was also replaced, which is a common problem with the 3.5. Other issues I have experienced include ball joints, control arm, tie rods, rattling speakers, and sunroof leaks into the rear door. If you are considering purchasing an MKS, I would recommend doing your research and considering other options. Thank you for reading.

Hey there! I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to share my thoughts on the MKS. While there has been a lot of hype around it, I personally don't think it lives up to all the expectations. What do you think?
